Not sure if I was meant to receive the below message but this appeared in my ebay inbox. Apparently sent from ebay store support ingrammicro (HP inventory) to the Hp ebay store team:

    "CAUTION: External Email
    Hi HP eBay Support Team,

Please see customer inquiry below. Kindly respond at the earliest.

Order is created in IM's ERP and as per checking no stocks available for SKU 71K90PA"

But no cancellation as of yet.

    • Yes, I received the same email chain reply as well.

  • Any news anyone?

    • +2

Nope still sitting in paid status and got the same email chain as above.

  • I sent follow up messages to HP ebay and all have been ignored… How long are they going to hold us in suspense?
EDIT: HP online store sent me this message via chat.

"Please be aware that the anticipated arrival date for the latest batch of OMEN by HP Gaming Laptop 17-inch ck1005TX is September 1, 2023. However, this estimated time of arrival is subject to change based on stock availability.

Rest assured, we will provide you with regular updates regarding the status of this item."

Just received email that it is shipped. Hopefully it's not someone's return.

  • +1

Also received email that it is shipped today!

  • +1

Just got email that it shipped too with the invoice and tracking number!

Woohoo! Run timespy 3dmark and share your score when it arrives

    • Can't wait for it to arrive! How are you liking the laptop so far? Any issues? Did you upgrade RAM, the stock 16gb is a little low.

      • To be honest I'm going to take it on a work trip soon so will be gaming for a few days there. Besides the first day of install / configuration I haven't played with it a whole lot. My initial impressions were very good after firing up a few games. It handled Hogwarts Legacy and Overwatch very well, and it scored well in timespy benchmark. I've got a decent desktop so this is more of a travel gaming laptop for me.
It does have a pretty chunky power brick but if you want the performance of 175w and the full grunt of the 3080ti that's what you kinda expect.
I'm super happy that the laptop screen is gsync capable so the laptop gives the full benefit of the graphics card and gaming. Apparently the US model screens did not come with gsync.
16gb is decent but yes down the line I'll probably upgrade to 32gb. Luckily it's a very simple upgrade, along with adding another drive to the second NVMe slot.
The only slight annoyance is the keyboard function keys being on the left side - as sometimes I've found hitting the function key and thinking that was the escape key - but I think will just get used to that over time.
I can also recommend this HP laptop bag for $25 (free shipping with ebay plus) which fits the 17" laptop and charging brick pretty well, and any additional mouse or whatever you have

        • Did you do a fresh install or with hp bloatware?

          • +1

@akte: Just uninstalled a few hp apps. There wasn't too much bloatware

  • Unlucky for me. Got couple dead pixels.

    • same, and machine craashes prime95

      • I'll be returning mine. Even though I like it and wanted relacement, HP not replying to my message, so will initiate ebay returns.

        • Thats unfortunate, I am still waiting on my delivery as it has the status of delayed, but I am in WA so…
          How bad were the deadpixels?

          • @IcedTiramisu: For me, it's in the middle and very noticeable as it lights up on black screen and couple just black on red or white screen.

            • +1

@akte: Thats such a shame, would have been a good machine. Where are you based how did you receive it so quickly? I called Star track and they said probably will only get to me after 5 September. Hope I don't get any dead pixels or other issues, sunk some money into 2x 4tb Pcie SSDs from the BPC deal and got 64gb of DDR5, as this was going to be my desktop replacement since my 2080ti died.

              • @IcedTiramisu: You received the laptop by now?

                • @akte: Not yet, was at work and missed the delivery and Startrack sent it back to the depot, have to call and arrange a collection…

        • Did you end up returning your laptop? Did HP respond to your recplacement?

          • @IcedTiramisu: Yes they responded (took a while) but I decided to return it as it takes longer time to get response from them on the replacement -> created ticket then no response until now but they did say it will take 3-4 weeks. Don't think it worth my time, so just return through eBay and hopefully the deals repeat or better deals in the future.

      • How long did you run prime95 for? I ran a few benchmarks and no issues but perhaps i'll try prime95

        • 5 hours… blended torture test
CPU maxed out.. though was not using GPU, maxed memory and CPU caused the video driver to hang.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000119 (0x0000000000000002, 0xffffffffc000000d, 0xfffff60c3bb47860, 0xffffc40c5d2e8a20).

          Windows rebooted by itself

          • +1

@vchoy: It ran for 5 hours before you got the error?

            • @videoman: yes run for 5 hours then blue screen

          • +1

@vchoy: 5 hours seems pretty good running at 100% benchmark doesnt it? It probably hit a thermal load by that point

  • back in stock rrp though lol

First run of timespy with laptop fully stock 13167. CPU 12950, GPU 13207.

No dead pixels on my machine, keyboard is membrane not optical mechanical.

Installed 2 x 4tb Lexar 790 ssds and no issue. Ram upgraded to 2x 32gb Corsair vengeance 4800mhz.

    • Can you link me to your RAM? I'd probably go for 2 x 16gb

      Is the default config 2 x 8gb?

      • Just tested 3dm Timespy after some tweaks. Voltage curve, +700mhz memory overclock with custom fan profile, GPU score now 13799.

        • That's awesome keen to see your voltage tweaks detail and fan profile

          • +1

@cyrax83: Fan profile isnt ideal, pretty much max speed 4600rpm at above 65c, got abit loud so I have turned it back to default.
Voltage curve is 1735mhz at .835v in afterburner.

  • Yup the default is 2x8gb, I bought two sticks seperately as they were cheaper than the 64gb kit.
