Yeah not sure how to make a referral randomiser on this. Beware of sharing your code publicly as ING has mentioned they will not pay out referral bonuses associated to this kind of code marketing/Ozbargain or smth

  • +2

But you're all my friends. 🤪

  • +2

Just a reminder, it's not allowed to share code in comments directly. Please wait mod to add referral function.

I didn't when this deal was first posted.

    Reward Eligibility Criteria:

The referrer can receive $100 for each friend they refer and their friend can receive $100 (the "offer") when the friend:
    Opens an Orange Everyday bank account between 16 August 2023 and 31 October 2023, and enters your unique promotional code at the time of account opening (new Orange Everyday customers only). Invalid or incomplete codes will not be fulfilled;
Deposits $1,000 or more as a one off or cumulative payments within a calendar month from an external source (such as their pay) into their new Orange Everyday account by 31 October 2023.
Opens a Savings Maximiser and makes a deposit into their Savings Maximiser between 16 August 2023 and 31 October 2023 or hold an existing Savings Maximiser account; and
Uses their new Orange Everyday card to make 5+ settled (not pending) card purchases within any calendar month between 16 August 2023 and 31 October 2023, (excluding ATM withdrawals, balance enquiries and EFTPOS cash out only transactions), collectively the 'Eligibility Criteria'.

The offer does not apply where your friend has opened an Orange Everyday account:
at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed); or
as part of an application for an Orange Advantage Home Loan.

      Ahh bummer

You missed the part of the Reward Eligibility Criteria where OzBargain is specifically mentioned lol

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash reward (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

      • +3

        Outed.

      • How will they know where you received the referral code?

        • +3

Generally, they would not know where a referral code came from if I simply pasted it in to the application form.

Having said that, there could be some ways ING could figure out whether I have shared my code here. For example:

          • If I plastered my referral code all over OzBargain, someone from ING could pick up on this and effectively blacklist my referral code.

          • An ING employee could request referral codes from OzBargainers and then have them blacklisted. (This is a bit of a stretch, but you never really know with ING…)

          • If I provided my referral link to you via OzBargain and you clicked on that link from OzBargain, ING may be able to see you just came from OzBargain.

  • Ing is on! 😊

  • I have ING accounts but I have not received any email with my promo code or which is mentioning this offer. Should I expect to receive the email in due course or is this a targeted offer?

If the latter, any idea how they choose who to target?

    • My wife has had one for years and has never got one. I received one this time.

ING recently dropped their international ATM Fee rebate, which virtually eliminates their competitive advantage. Add the hassle of having to make at least 5 transactions and deposit at least $1000 to maintain eligibility for benefits makes other options more attractive- at least for OS use.

      • +1

        has to be card transactions

        • Oh.. I stand corrected

    • How recently? I got international ATM fees refunded 4 days ago with my ING Orange Everyday card

      • +1

There are two ATM Withdrawal fees - one charged by ING ($5) and one (possibly) charged by the ATM operator. If the eligibility criteria a is met (5 card purchased and 41000 deposited), then ING will rebate the first 5 of their fees (i.e. 5 x $5). They used to also rebate the ATM operator fee but no longer.

This change was effective from 1Aug23.

    • Any other options for free atm withdrawal?

      • There are quite a few cards that have fee free ATM withdrawals but none that I am aware of that also rebate the ATM operator fee?
Some examples are Macquarie, CitiBank Plus, UBank, HBSC, Suncorp.

        • I believe ING still gives 5x fee free withdrawals. Just no longer International ATM operator fees

    • virgin, at least you can bpay the 5 transactions. Still, its not hard, just after pay, or split paypall a bill.

    • Worth it for 5.50% IMO

    • That is for international ATM card use right ? What about international online transactions ? Is that still getting rebated ?
Was the selling incentive to use and recommend ING to friends. Only just got the email offer today, so want to make sure I got the right info. Thanks!

      • That is for international ATM card use right ?

ING stopped rebating international ATM operator fees charged by the ATM operator on 31 July 2023. If you now go to an international ATM and are charged a fee by the ATM operator to withdraw money or make an enquiry, ING will no longer rebate that.

ING will continue to rebate the first five domestic ATM operator fees you incur in a calendar month, but knowing ING, that will probably be axed one day…

What about international online transactions ? Is that still getting rebated ?

ING charges a 3% international transaction fee for any international purchases, but ING will continue rebating this fee in the calendar month the fee was incurred if you met the fee waiver criteria (deposit $1000+, make 5+ eligible card purchases) in the previous calendar month.

More information on rebates associated with the Orange Everyday account can be found in the Orange Everyday Benefits Schedule.

Thanks for confirming, mate. Just came back from overseas on 29 July and used my card a fair bit. Cheers.

10 year exclusion period for previous account holders rules out most OzB over the age of 28.

  • I already have this account and I am wondering whether I got the $100 dollars to join or did I just join for free.

  • 1000 from external source.. transferring from other account, will that count?

    • +1

Yes, transferring from an account at another bank has always worked for me.

  • Bugger. Just signed up for an ing savings account a week ago.

  • Send pm for referral code? ANZ plus style again?

  • Has anyone had any hope contacting support complaining that they didn’t get the email? Haha. Or do they send them in batches maybe? Just wondering if there’s any hope for me getting a referral code to give my friend.

    • Emails are still been sent as I just got mine

  • Is this targetted?

    • May be But a lot of people have gotten it.

  • +1

Finally a good amount. I remember joining ING in early 00s and they offered $123 free for opening an account

Got me started on my saving journey and bought a property a few years later in Sydney

  • Could anyone clarify if the bonus actually takes 30 days to be credited or if it's instant?

  • -5

I got the referral link this time
We are only allowed to enable PM but cannot provide the referral link here on ozbargain

  • I have an ING account. How do I find my referral code?

    • They send out an email [targeted]

  • +1

For those that have had an ING account long term, is your referral code now the same code its always been. The only referral code i could find in my emails was from 5 years ago.

    • +1

Yes - for me it was the same code as in previous campaigns.

    • Same but you need the email for it to be active. When it used to be regularly posted here, I would get it maybe less than half the time.

  • Up to 100 entries now and I haven't got any clicks yet ☠️

    • Wow, dayum, you have a 100 dms!?

      • I think they meant there were 100 people in the OzBargain referral system lol.

  • +4

Ing still owe me my $100 from last deal

  • Just got the referral email as well. Assuming it's the same as previous years, it is targeted and only those who have the email will be able to refer. Hence why the ozb referral is pm only. So make sure you ask for proof of the email.

    • Thank you this is the info I was looking for

    • My referral code was only 5 characters. Thought it was quite short, this explains it.

  • -4

It is really hard to meet these criteria for the 4.95% p.a. additional variable rate

    5.50%
(incl. 4.95% p.a. additional variable rate)

The standard variable rate is 0.55% p.a.

    ING's highest variable rate

For customers who also have an Orange Everyday bank account and do these things each month:
    1. Deposit at least $1,000 from an external source to any personal ING account in their name (excluding Living Super and Orange One)
    2. Make 5 or more settled (not pending) eligible ING card purchases
    3. Grow their nominated Savings Maximiser balance (excluding interest earned for the current month).
When the criteria is met in a calendar month, the benefits and additional variable rate will apply in the next calendar month. Available on one account for balances up to $100,000.

  • Previously referred people and never got paid. ING is dodge.

    • Did u chase up? I had to chase up when my wife acc referred me, it took 2 months longer than the promised date and maybe 4 phonecalls but they finally rewarded $50 each back then. It’s dumb that we had to chase it up but at least it cleared.

      • Nah didn’t bother. I just don’t support the business. I know they signed up with the code & started using account. There are enough people commenting here saying they weren’t paid. And if it takes 4 follow ups to get paid a legit referrer bonus - as you confirm - then ING is scamming people by taking the referrals and not paying out.

    • it's misrepresentation if they don't honour what's promised when you followed the T&Cs, you may send a letter of demand

    • +2

      It depends on what happened.

      • If the people you referred never actually used your referral code in the end, that is on the people you referred, not ING. You never know, you could have had someone use the OzBargain referral system three or four times to obtain referral codes, then only used the first referral code they received, because they did not want to wait around for the first referrer to respond.

      • If the people you referred did not actually meet the spend criteria, that is on the people you referred, not ING.

      • If ING determined that the referral code was obtained via OzBargain (and sharing an ING referral code is specifically against the terms and conditions of this offer)1, that is on ING, but you also accepted the terms and conditions. For example, you could have provided your referral code on OzBargain to an ING staff member, then ING blacklisted your referral code. (Okay, that is a really long stretch, but you never know with ING…)

If you believe none of these are applicable to your situation, I would either complain to ING directly or lodge a complaint against ING through AFCA.

      1. OzBargain has actually been called out as an exclusion in this current offer and for previous offers, such as in June 2021 and October 2021

    Should this be tagged Targeted?

    • I also wondered that and reported the deal with a query about this. The moderator's reply was:

Only referrer with a referral code can enter the randomiser system, but any referee with a referral can qualify. So not targeted.

      • Yep I got that reply too. I guess they rolling the promo progressively. First day both me and wife didnt get but second day her acc got it.

  • How long does it take for the card to arrive? Hopefully before the end of the calendar month!

    • They say the card will arrive in 2-5 business days. In any case you automatically qualify to earn bonus interest in the month you apply and the following month.

  • Just received the promo code email. Hope it is not too late.

    • too late for what? ;)

      • too late for the referral system to pick me. 🤣

  • Do we need to use the physical card?

    • For the 5 transactions? No… I've used it for online purchases (mostly international), but if you use it for regular online purchases, you give up the opportunity to earn points on your credit card (if you had one)

  • Think the emails are coming in phases. I didn't get one yesterday, but just got it today. I'm wondering if anyone isn't with ING yet. :/

    • same I just got my email but I'm guessing most people here are with or have been with ING by now.

  • I also didn't receive the email yesterday, but received it today about 20 minutes ago.

  • Just got the referral code from ING

    • Just got mine also

  • Just go the email from ING

  • Just got mine too.

  • What’s the max one person can refer? Email I received says we can refer more than one along with 11x$100 =$1100 as an example. Haha

    • I don’t think the T&C states maximum limit… might be limitless 😬

  • I've just received the referral email from ING too.

  • Silly question but how can we add our referral code to our profile?
I checked the wiki and it points to Account/Settings/Referrals/ING but I can't add the link there. I can only hit save or store page, but there is nowhere to put the URL before saving.
    Cheers

When one PMs you, give them your code.

      • +1

sigh .. the one thing I didn't think to actually do
        Cheers for that

  • I have just received the code from ING ($100 reward Referrer & Referee)

  • They must be sending in batches, only just got the email now

  • -1

sorry if this is asked already.. so my wife received the email.
can i use the code and do through the steps? (i already have an ign account though)

    • The offer does not apply where your friend has opened an Orange Everyday account:
at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed); or
as part of an application for an Orange Advantage Home Loan.

  • If i've been referred by someone and sign up, am i able to refer others straightaway? Or do i need to wait for that email too?

    • You'll need to wait to get the email too. Otherwise, as a new account holder, you haven't got a referral code yet.

    • -1

they won't give you one this round, that's for sure.

      • does that mean i cannot refer others upon signing up?

  • How do you know if the code you put in worked during the application process? I put in a code when I was opening my account but now there's no sign of it having worked. There's nothing in the myoffers tab about the offer.
