    Reviews are very mixed.
If you want good results, first time, every time spend an extra $100~ and get the Bambu P1P rather than be creality’s Guinea pig.

    • +3

Agreed. Creality claims this and that about adding further fixes/functionality through software upgrades, but I'm almost 100% sure they won't.

      • -1

The issues are hardware issues due to Chinesium cheap approach Creality does as usual.
No software will fix cheap hardware issues.

    • Yep get a P1P with the new lowered price

    • The P1P isn't really a direct comparison as it's not enclosed. But I would highly recommend spending that bit extra for the P1S.

      • To be honest, most people don’t need an enclosed printer.
PETG is easy and offers most of the benefits of ABS or TPU. Let’s not bother talking about Nylon.
Also the P1P can be enclosed for about $100 if you’re keen, but now there’s the P1S as an option.

I guarantee you 90% of people will probably just print PLA or PETG.

        • To enclose it would cost about $200 to buy the panels from Bambu Lab or $230 for the P1P to P1S Upgrade Kit plus the time and effort to install these parts.

          • @ayayron: You are 100% correct, there are two issues at hand:
            1. Most people would be fine without enclosures. The P1P is a hands down better printer for an extra $100 and losing the enclosure.
            2. For those that already have the P1P or aren't sure if they want to pay more for enclosure, there's alot of printable parts kits for it that bring the cost down.

I personally already have the P1P as I bought it as soon as it went down to $919 and before the P1S was announced.
It has been an absolute dream without the plethora of issues I've had from every printer before it.

    • Yes, but you can get one for free via FB to test if you are willing to pay shipping. LOL

I can't recommend this over a Bambu. If it was any other Creality, you would have a big community to give mods to fix it up. As it is, this is locked down and not very fixable - and has reviews showing it's not that great out of the box without some fixes.

A bambu P1P is $919, and would be a world above this in being able to print great out of the box. But for a small amount more the P1S would be worth it (I got the P1S and AMS and have found it to be so amazing)

    • P1s with or without ams?
      No experience with 3d printing.

      • +1

Only get the AMS if you want to print a single bit of plastic with multiple filaments (colours).

You can always buy the AMS afterwards.

        • Yes you can buy the AMS later, but it will be $145 cheaper to buy it as a combo with the P1S.
It's definitely not just for multi colour prints. Being airtight it'll help keep your filament dry and added convenience of not having to swap out filament when you want to print something in a different colour or different material. Can have 4 loaded and just switch between them in the slicer.

      • +4

The ams is cheaper if you buy it with the printer, and personally i would go for it, but realise its $400. What you get for it is being able to switch materials and colours on the fly, as well as you can leave the colour's there ready to go if you want to leave it for a while. It makes it simpler to use.

        • +1

Definitely recommend the AMS if you can afford it, although it does waste filament when switching between colours.

      • +3

AMS makes your 3d printing life way more convenient even you are doing single colour printing. It loads/unloads filaments to the printer automatically and if you fill up same kinds of filaments in AMS, if one filament is run out then AMS automatically loads up next one to keep on printing. However, more gears gets more trouble so you need to learn how to deal with problems on AMS from Bambu lab wiki site.

Agreed I have used both and the p1p\p1s is miles ahead on reliabily of prints. creality mobile app is complete trash I despise it…. Selling my k1 to buy another P1S to go with my p1p

  • Not worth it.
Although I've returned my X1C to build a Voron because it sucked, get a P1P instead a Creality.

Friend don't let another friend buy K1!

    • For a full 350 kit, is there a seller you recommend? Also, what sort of add-ons do you think would be worth looking into?

      • Depending on where you live, theres a few. Unique prints in Victoria, DREMC i think in syd or brisbane ? and 3D bro has some parts. Unique prints has a lot of kits though and you can message them for custom options. Highly recommend.

      • +1

It depends what you are after.

I got the LDO Trident 300mm kit from PhaserFPV.
        I can't stand 2.4 gantry nightmare. I wouldn't buy Formbot kit.
Unique Print kits and store as a whole seems to be indeed solid.

For my LDO Trident I got the mandatory inverted electronic mod and replace the terrible stock inductive probe with Beacon probe, what a beast.
        I wanna another LDO Trident.

If you want a cheap corexy the kingroon klp1 will be in Australia late September and should be about 580

  • I would recommend a P1S instead of this junk.. expect no warranty.

  • Just buy P1P (if you are printing PLA mainly) or buy P1S (If you are printing filaments which needs certain high chamber temp). It is worth to invest hundreds of dollars more to buy Bambu lab printers over crealiy's

  • My only issue with Bambu is their proprietary system, everything has to run on their apps. I would rather have the option to use an open system. I have not used any Bambu systems, I'm only going by what I have read. Please correct me if I am wrong.
