This previously popular Wuben flashlight is back on sale for $27.99 for those after something bright. Wuben have been my go to when going for a stroll underground and they're certainly bright.

It has a P9 LED with 1200 lumens, 6 light modes (high/medium/low/eco/strobe/sos), 160° wide beam angle, USB-C recharging, IP68 water resistance and a rechargeable 18650 battery. Expect around 143 hours battery life on eco, 3.5 hours on medium and 2.5 hours on high.

    wu-ben clan comin at ya!

  • What's a cheap ass torch that is good enough for home

    • +12

      This one?

    • $28 isn’t cheap ass ?

I have one on my car and one as edc. Excellent for everything, worth the money.

    • These are a good choice when they come on sale, small enough to go on your keyring too.

You need one like this at home.

      • Nice! Been meaning to get a magnetic flashlight for work. The fact it has side light (with red) and UV is bonus. I already have the Wuben and love it TBF.

        • I have a few Wuben and Sofirn flashlights, but this is the one I use the most at home.

    • You can get one of those torches with a dynamo inside and doesn't require batteries. You wind the crank and it's good to go.

  • Got one of these last year for $37, go on sale and posted here fairly often.
    Great lights, USB C.

Sofirn SC31 Pro Rechargeable Flashlight 2000 Lumen

    • Sofirn or the Wuben?

      • Oh i got the Sofirn, seems like a solid choice on OzB.

I got my old man one as well, and also the big boy sofirn Q8 Pro Super Bright Flashlight 11000 Lumen

      • Sofrin broke in 1 week.

      • +2

        It's a Ford Vs Holden.

Both have their fans & detractors. Both are actually excellent. So go for whoever is cheaper.

        • The sofirn comes with Anduril UI

          • @Caped Baldy: Is that a good or bad thing? I just like simple modes. Low - medium - high. No sos or strobe.

            • @eciuj: It's preferred for some. Strobe and SOS are there but you have to click multiple times (like 4+ times).

Anduril UI has a gradual ramp up/down in brightness by clicking and holding the button so there's more fine control and it memorises the brightness so you don't need to keep cycling through the off/low/med/high.

A little irrelevant given this is on sale but the sofirns arent.

      • oh well.

It's relevant if one products is good and the other one may or may not be, but some people just want a bargain.
You would save more money not hanging out on here (impulse shopping).

I'm sure you'll sort it out champ.

      • OH that's good you bought one. Or just being a toss.

@Atomik17 lol what did you do to it?
Either way amazon warranty and retrurns are easy af.

        • I emailed them and they took 2 weeks to reply. I just gave up.

          • @Atomik17: Should have got on the chat with Amazon.
Not a bargain if you don't follow up, be better off not buying anything.. then other people get excited about a free $2 off this and that lol.

            • @G-rig: Is warranty handled by Amazon or sofrin then.?

              • @Atomik17: If it says "Fulfilled by Amazon" then you can talk to Amazon about it.

    • Or get a Hanklight

    • $34.99 delivered - ends today

  • Does anyone else have A habit of losing these types of torches?
I have lost about half Dozen of these over the years.
According to my purchase history I bought this same model last year, replaced it with a sofirm which I've lost recently.
Anyway. Bought this again. I prefer having the power button on the bottom/tail of the torch as it's a lot easier to switch on in the dark.

  • Just dropped my previous Wuben light! Perfect timing! Thanks OP

Instead of buying a new one, why don't you just pick it up off the floor. It should be near your feet somewhere

  • Does Wuben get very hot on its brightest setting? My Sofirn gets super hot.

    • They're all running well past thermal limits for long term use, yes. 1200 lumen needs about 11W into LEDs (maybe more, if the mirror and lens isn't great). 3-3.5W leaving as luminous flux (ie light), so the remainder is heat.

      • Thanks. I’ve just bought the wuben to try.

    • I returned mine as it gets too hot while my sofirn never get hot ..

  • I bought a couple from Hekka, I think they've shut down?

Anyways, I used one very rarely for 4-5 months and I mean like once every few weeks.

It charges, but won't turn on.

Emailed the company, and they said K didn't buy it from them direct - good bye.

    LOL

I owned it over a year, but warranty is a bit confusing.

    I wouldn't buy again

Your battery Is most likely dead. Try another battery if you can.

    • +4

The torches would be fine. It's the generic 18650 battery used that would be dead. Replace with a new one. If you want the best go For Samsung, otherwise Liitokala is a cheaper alternative to generics.

      • Thanks, but I barely used it in the time? Maybe only ever fully charged 5-10x.

        That's pretty ridiculous!
When I put on charge, the light is on?

Probably costs half the price of the torch, will look into it. 👍

    • Same here. Was great when it worked but after 1 year it just does what u mentioned.

  • any recommendations for long battery life running head torch?

    • +1

Ledlenser MH10 I get a full 12 hour shift. Have had one on my hard hat for 2.5 years getting bashed around. The best part is it's just an 18650 battery. I just charge multiple batteries and swap as I need them.

$24 in June so I think I am holding

  • I have one. Button to change modes is a ‘soft’ press thats a little difficult, not great for older people.

  • This as bike light?

  • I've been looking for something this bright to use as an under cabinet light in the kitchen but all the ones I've found are much dimmer. Has anyone seen something this bright in that form?

  • Is the battery replaceable?

    • +1

Yes it's just an 18650 battery

  • Does it come with a battery?

    • Looking at amazon reviews, apparently it's not good but it does come with one

      • Thanks, a bit misleading because the Amazon page says batteries not included…

        • Mine arrived today and confirm it comes with a battery :)

Also came with 2 spare orings, usbc cable and a lanyard which was neat

    • Ofc

  • I use one at work that is constantly getting covered in diesel and oil, have had it nearly two years and still going strong. They are also the right size in the centre section to use in a standard 25mm rifle mount.

    • Rifle? Oil?

      • Diesel mechanic and rural property haha
        Versatile torch.

  • Bought one… arrived today… dead. Sending it back to Amazon… no more Wuben C3 for me.

    • +2

Did you remove the plastic protector from the end of the battery?
