  • Glad that they’re available for anyone who is desperate and doesn’t know how to clean, cover the RFID and reuse existing filters, but what a shame Panmi are getting greedy. It was looking so promising when they were getting these in at a decent price. I guess it’s inevitable that they’d put up the price again as alternate suppliers dried up. Given the consistent price rises, I’m out.

    • It's not really a case of greed. Rather Xiaomi have raised the wholesale prices and the sub-$40 deals were at a loss.

It’s unlike someone with the questionable reputation of Ruslan Kogan to be selling them at a loss…

        • Kogan would never do such a thing Don't be ridiculous.

As a former OzBargain Kogan rep I can tell you that they most certainly do loss leaders. They employ a whole marketing company that play close attention to OzBargain and other communities.

          • @Clear: Are you asserting that they are offering a pre-sale loss leader on these same filters by selling them at $39 each currently?

            • @UncleRico: I'm saying Kogan are known to do loss leading. As for this it's certainly possible they're making $0 or next to nothing.

As you should know there's a lot of costs involved in importing containers from China. One would hope that these are being filled with other products that'll make enough profit to cover the shipping and import tax.

      Cover the RFID?

I've just been factory resetting. Haven't been able to get it back on the WiFi for a while though

I've just been factory resetting. Haven't been able to get it back on the WiFi for a while though

Yeah ever since I did a reset I can't connect back to wifi no matter what I do. I've tried just 2.4GHz and WPA2 and it just won't connect anymore! So annoying cos it's stuck on Fahrenheit and yeah can't control by app anymore!

        • I don't really pay attention to it anymore just let it do it's thing.

Actually had the filter expire again this week I didn't even bother resetting it this time. Just cleaned, reattached, and ignore the red light that pops up from time to time

The PassCode for the communication credentials between the NFC and the purifier have reverse engineered and can be found on GitHub.
If you can't roll your own NFC stickers to place on top of the filter's built in one, you can purchase a 10 pack of preprogrammed NFC stickers from here

$37 four months ago, $31 a year ago and $23 two years ago. Inflation, supply and demand are biting…

      • Yup, even so at ~40-50 they are still way cheaper than many other brands of air purifier specific filters

Any code for a discount on the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Pro Filter? First time I've seen them in stock since buying the filter, but hoping for a better price than $85.95.

  • It is really cleaning with vacuum cleaner or dust blower arent enough?

    • Pretty unique case, but I've got a smoker in the house so it helps a lot. Great price considering RRP. Normal price used to be a lot lower than $47 though.

    • That question means you don't need it yet - which is a good thing.
I use this to get rid of lingering food smell without opening the windows.
Yes, I can open my windows but sometimes I get smoke/weird smell coming from outside.
This will get rid of them quicker.

      • True i have no issue with smell or smoke, was thingking this help with my hayfever alergic but i dont think it has any affect after using it for years

    • I mainly got it to help with the upcoming bushfire season

Anyone seen good prices for this model?

    • Kogan have them for $68.99 Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Pro Filter if you have Kogan first or are happy to sign up for the free trial. Basically same price as Panmi if you have to pay for delivery. Note Kogan doesn't ship until September 14.

      • Thanks, yeah, saw that too.
I'll keep searching. Hoping to end up in the high $50 range…
