I have one and I tried making it my main iPad because I liked the form factor… unfortunately the performance just doesn't keep up with the latest OS versions. Everything is laggy, from simple UI animations to switching between apps, to scrolling pages in Safari.

@alcadive: Talking about the 360 video being 5.7k while the 5760*2880 pixels are spread all over the panorama, therefore, when you export it as a fixed frame video which is basically 1/6 of the whole video so what you can see is 1080p?

I tried to use mine to record around tokyo when I went, it really struggles in low light, it is an action cam after all.
I would recommend you try and make sure it can record in the cityscape environments that you would find in seoul and give you results you like, otherwise just get a gopro, especially if you aren't doing any action sports.
gopro's have significantly more resilient and replaceable lenses. if you scratch the ones on your x3 you're absolutely SOL
gopro's record in higher quality and achieve greater levels of detail pretty much all the time
gopro's require less post processing
gopro's have more compatible accessories, more value on the secondhand market and better support.
unless you have a specifc, good reason to get an X3 I would say to just get a GoPro, or use your phone.
If low light is a concern, also check out the new DJI Action 4. All these action cameras are just so-so at low light.

Unless you really want to and will make use of the 360 vision I would avoid the X3. I had one of them and it used to overheat, and insta are horrible to deal with, and on top of that the lens is so easily damaged because it sticks out and good luck getting it replaced if anything ever happens to it. The DJI Action 4 has just come out and I would choose that every day over my X3.
I have both. Use them for very different purposes but yes the possible lens damage stresses me out.
It's hell for people who use the camera in and out of the water frequently. You can't use the sticky lens protection in water, you can't use the dive case out of the water, you can't just leave it unprotected or else you risk scratching the lens and having to deal with fixing it, if they gave an option to protect it I would be okay with that but there's literally not one for my use-case. The insta go however I can see a real use-case for. But I hate instagram and I also hate gopro (I've had so many of them fail me when I needed them most) that I will take an action 4 any day because I know it will just work.

It really depends on what kind of videos you want to capture and how much time you want to spend editing.
A 360 degree camera lets you capture everything around you so you won't have to think too much about framing the shot. If you have a long selfie stick you can have pseudo-drone-style follow shots as the stick will be erased. But when it comes time to edit, you have to spend more time framing your shot, moving the camera around.
A regular camera like a GoPro requires you to frame your shot properly as the action is happening, but when it comes time to edit, what you recorded is all you have so it's quicker in a sense as you don't have the option of moving the camera around.
A GoPro (or DJI Action 4) will have better video quality as the whole sensor is recording what's in front of the camera, rather than being spread out over 360 degrees.
So just get both. ;)
I have had an x3 for about 8 weeks… didn't trust the GoPro not to shut down when hot…. And the DJI 3 has issues as they where still shipping defective cameras.
I have learned to love the x3…. It's a steep learning curve. Phone editing is quite good. But download 360 videos to your laptop to use studio…. you need a leading edge computer to edit properly. Something super fast…
I will prob get a big tablet and use the phone app. It does 90% of what the desktop software does….
It takes great normal photos. The 360 animations of still photos is awesome… Reframing 360 video's is quite easy with practice…
Basically I love it and are always getting comments about "how did you do that" on face book… I paid $619 from Jaycar for mine…
Get the 3 metre pole. Its great and looks like drone footage when used properly ….
