Tax time special: Is this what you spend your tax refund on? Then wait 11 months to claim it…

    • It's under $300 so it can be written off in one go. However, if it is over $300 (i.e. a brand new PC or even a decent GPU), depreciation is time based. ATO doesn't let you depreciate 365 days if the item is purchased 1 day before the end of financial year.

      • This is < 300. I guess you could depreciate it if you really wanted?

        • In this case, it is wiser to wait 11 months because chances are this will be a lot cheaper by then.
I cannot remember Centre Com's price on this SSD model last week (because there was an additional coupon code). But based on CCC, it seems like retailers (including Amazon) are lowering the price to basically match the price with that discount code included last week.

      • when was that rule introduced

Same price at amazon (gets free shipping) & centercom

  • i had a gigabyte pcie 4.0 drive, it lost 85% life in about a year
had the kc3000 for about a month and it has not lost a single % yet

    • Which Gigabyte model and capacity?

      • the one with a black heat sink and silver writing, 1tb

        • Same storage size? Do you have Crystal DiskInfo installed? If yes, post the model detail, read and write details.

          • @netsurfer: nah i dont have it installed, or the other drive plugged in

i can get crystal & put the other drive into a usb m2 reader and check the read and write. (ill have to find both lol)

            • @PensionerXXL: Don't worry about it. I have a Gigabyte SSD collecting dust at the moment also…

  • I bought the sillicon power X70 also with similar price… nice found. Thanks.

Was that Phison E18 + Micron TLC combo or it was InnoGrit + YMTC previous gen TLC NAND combo? Silicon Power started component swaps on XS70 2TB about 2 months ago.

      • The one i got when someone posted it here last month. Now the price is down to $150

        • InnoGrit + YMTC combo most likely. So, not exactly the same. I assume Kingston hasn't started doing component swapping on these. I am quite annoyed with Kingston doing swaps on their other SSDs. However, it seems to be the norm for these glue and go SSD makers.

          • @netsurfer: 1tb drive from the Computer Alliance deal I got has a Phision E18 and Micron TLC NAND. Hopefully this is the same.

  • Can this be used in Legion pro 5 gen 8 spare slot?

  • Hmm this or Corsair MP600 PRO LPX for $194 from Amazon AU?
