I haven't been to an all you can eat in 20 years (RIP Sizzler).

The overindulgence, overconsumption and lack of self control by the typical restaurant goer makes for a horrible experience.

    YMMV.

    • The Star casino has an all-you-can-eat buffet ….. it really should be banned.

    • -5

OP please change the title so as not to mislead: ALL YOU DON'T WANT TO EAT. The Society of cardiologists are taking all the bookings.

    • +49

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man who's had ALL he could eat?

    • Try a Korean BBQ like Discovery in Burwood, man it's great

      • All you can eat?

        • There's quite a few that are, I'm not sure about that one but I went to one in newy for about $35. Head and you could just feast up on thin slices of meat. Had a great time.

          • @lancesta: Do you remember which one did you go? discovery is $58 pp 😱

            • @elvines: I wasn't able to find it, was a good while ago. Either I remembered the price wrong, or they've gone out of business (maybe they were too cheap lol).

            • @elvines: Mipung Nunawading? Think it's like $40pp

    • +1

I know. Ill meet you there at 1.

      • +1

        It's a date. Perfect.

  • +5

So you created a new account because your old one got put into the Penalty Box? See you in 3….. 2….. 1….

    • What happened?

      • No idea.

    • Member since 2017.. must have been their personal account

      • +1

Confirmed with mods that this was their original account

        • Oh I see

        • +1

          why he got penalized ?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: the second account got put in the penalty box, so maybe it's the case that the mods just got rid of the second one since they had the first already

  • What's the market like?

  • Has this deal been going for a while? Saturday 6pm is already sold out

    • Hi! The AYCE has been going on for a while, but the ozbargain deal is only just active! This Saturday 6pm is sold out, but there's a fair bit of availability going forward :)

      • Will there be any more deals after August or is this only for the month?

        • We haven't decided on any further deals past August, but if we do have any we will certainly post them then!

            • +3

              @billadm: That’s really mean!
Have you been to this particular establishment?

                • +1

@billadm: Lol, that's not how freedom works. Welcome to living as part of a society, or maybe you don't hence your posted comments…

            • +10

@billadm: To be fair, majority of "All you can eat" buffets have time restrictions between 60-120mins to ensure turnover at the restaurant, same with penalty's for food wastage at the end. The Penalty is simply there encase someone grabs like 5 plates and only finishes 2…

              • -2

@Harrpie: "majority of "All you can eat" buffets have time restrictions between 60-120mins"
Where?Or I mean which country or what race have these kind of rules when you eat buffet?

                • @yuisakas: Most all you can eat places have time limit rules. Show me all you can eat where I can stay all year round!

                  • -3

                    @Indomietable:

Most all you can eat places have time limit rules

You mob trolls have been stating this but instead of showing this 80% of businesses that have these rules you keep repeating it like tamed parrots do.

                    • +5

@billadm: Here are the all-you-can-eat places in Melbourne according to Google Bard.

Restaurant Cuisine Session Time Limit Price
New Quay International Buffet Asian, seafood, Western 2 hours AUD$45.90 for adults
Melba Restaurant International 2 hours AUD$65 for adults
Dear Barbecue Buffet Barbecue 2 hours AUD$49.90 for adults
Kitchen Workshop Italian, pasta, pizza 90 minutes AUD$34.90 for adults
Takumi Japanese 90 minutes AUD$39.90 for adults
Gaijin Japanese barbecue 90 minutes AUD$44.90 for adults
                      No35 Italian 90 minutes AUD$39.90 for adults
Collins Kitchen Grand Hyatt Australian 90 minutes AUD$59 for adults

Now show me one all-you-can-eat place where I can stay all year round!

                      Your move billadm!

                  • @Indomietable: Surely I can just pay $25 dollars and just keep eating as long as I don't leave the place.

Sleep overnight and just start eating the next day, then I can just bring a laptop in for remote work and just live there lol.

                  • +1

@billadm: LOL because people disagree with you because you make the dumbest comments.
Go list 5 buffets in Melbourne that don't have time limits? Derp, I'll be waiting

              • @Harrpie: To be fair 120 mins is a long ass time. I normally have 20 mins for lunch and I can probably devour 4 burgers in that time. Sitting there slowly cooking the meat probably 90mins is good enough for me to eat 1.5kg of meat.

            • +1

@billadm: 1.5 hours is plenty of time here.

The waiter n waitress has been asking quite frequently. Nice CS.

Wait time varies as they are startup, but hasnt seen anyone not getting their food.

  • +1

The food looks OK for $25-$30.

I can achieve my needs in 90 mins.

    Unfortunately I am in Perth.

    Perth buffets suck.

  • +5

remember to fast for 3 days before going

    • +1

Lol I swear I can't eat as much at a buffet no matter what I do beforehand it's like the options just clam me up

    • And 3 days after for all the carbs to be consumed

  • +1

It's not a bad price but these are very carb heavy, starchey foods and you will get full very quickly.

    • +11

Don't threaten me with a good time

      • +2

LOL. trust me. not a good time as you think

  • Missed the $15 All You Can Eat on Groupon pre covid since never seen a good deal again

  • +3

These deals last up until the point that a group of bodybuilders and powerlifters descend on the venue.

    • +2

Any self-respecting bodybuilder/power-lifter would not be stuffing themselves with useless junk-food.

      • +1

        It's not junk food

        It's a challenge

        • For those competitive eaters sure, the ones that eat rubbish for youtube views. Those who actually lift/work on their bodies wouldn't go anywhere near a place like this.

      • -1

lol do you even lift? A cheat day/meal is THE time to be stuffing yourself silly and macros be damned.

        • -1

          you obviously dont

  • +3

You get what you pay for

  • +1

Wastage exceeding 300g will incur a wastage fee of $15 per person.

Wastage per person or per table.

    • +4

per night. so if all of the 200 diners waste just 1.5g each, everybody pays.

    • Good luck with those chicken wings bones 🤣

    • +1

It'll be per person. I think this is totally reasonable though. Just make more trips to the buffet. It also allows for some of a dish to be left if you really don't like the flavour.

  • Went 2 weeks ago. Friendly staff and fast service. The beef burgers are pretty good.

  • +1

drags me away "but the sign said all you can eat…"

  • +2

Due to system limitations, please buy the full prized ticket and you will be refunded the balance in-store.
Lol scammy. just fix it what if we are denyed refund, you can get away with it..

Why is this not added here? this is misleading.

  • I hope you don't throw away your leftover meals OP. Give to those in need

  • -1

That's crazy, 25 all you can eat.

Pizza hut, KFC, and Sizzlers all doomed on price and dine in.

Well that's not to say you cannot get unlimited Korean food on the hot pot but no where near $25.

Well I guess victoria has atleast something going for it with gas and terrible government management, let's hope the prices don't increase.

  • +1

So this can be booked for 1 person? You say there is a wastage fee. What if we genuinely don't like an item? There will be trial an error until we find the items we enjoy.

    • +8

Hi there, don't worry too much about wastage fees. They're there to deter people from just going beserk, not there to penalise people who don't like a particular dish. We've had more than 2000 customers on our AYCE now and essentially only applied the rule once when there were 4 boxes pretty much untouched left (and that after the server warned to try one or two serves first and can reorder later). If you don't like a dish and don't finish it, we're certainly not going to be charging you. I think the thousands of ozbargainers who've come will vouch for us being reasonable and kind people! :)

      • Sounds good. I'm fairly local to your cafe and would be interested in coming to try it one day. Are there items on the menu which would be suitable with someone who has a severe egg and nut allergy?

        • Lol. Fun fact. You are not their target audience.

        • +3

Hi there, we look forward to welcoming you some day! There are certainly some items that are egg/nut free, however unfortunately we cannot guarantee them being free of traces due to shared cooking utensils/deep fryers etc.

      • +1

I think the thousands of ozbargainers who've come will vouch for us

        Source? I'm calling BS

      • You've gotta have it otherwise people will just be wasteful unfortunately.

  • +1

If you open up in the North or West, you'd get way more people going to your restaurant.

    • Thanks for that! Definitely will take that into consideration if we look to open a second store!

    • Yeah, but you'd get robbed more too….. :)
