Note: Choose wisely the language. You can only choose one. And you can not change the language.

    Download the iOS app
    Reported to work by Flyingdoc

  5. Go to Rosetta Stone
Click on the Launch Rosetta Stone Foundation

Edit: "You may study more than one language. Switching from one language to another language must be performed only on this page." Thanks to @BigLeviathan.

Works like a charm, thanks for sharing. I'm gonna learn Spanish, wish me luck 🤞

  • Worked for me, merci

    • Enjoy!! 🙂

    • Nothing in my language I'm afraid. Nanu Nanu. Come in Orson.

      • Why'd you do it, Rob?

      • Are you still here Mork?

  • +1

Doesn’t work for iOS. After creating the account and clicking sign in, it takes me to the Rosetta app and ask me to sign in with a personal or work account. Neither option works for me.

    • +1

      Same here.
Never get to the ‘ Click on the Launch Rosetta Stone Foundation’ step.
      Goes straight to step 5.

      • Thanks, I will remove iOS option then. I haven't tried iOS because I don't have an apple device. But where I have found the deal it says works on both.

    • Have you downloaded the app first? You need to do it with the right order. I done the same mistake when I was testing it.

      • +1

Yep. Followed steps correctly but it jumped from step 3 to step 5 and doesn't sign in from there.

        • Sorry guys, I couldn't test iOS.

    • You can get to learn the free language on the website. Alvian fixed my description. Looks like you don't need the app. Thanks @alvian.

Follow the steps carefully all - I got it to work and put instructions in a post below. Re-posted:

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully - this is also on the PDF: https://salinaspubliclibrary.org/sites/default/files/media_b…

      For iOs:
      1. Download the Rosetta Stone app (DO NOT OPEN!)
      2. Using Safari, login to Rosetta via the link on the website (https://secure.rosettastone.com/lp/ebsco/index.html?custid=s…)
      3. Create a User/Login
      4. Sign In (Do Not Open App Yet - Click Cancel if needed)
      5. On next Screen Rosetta Stone Language Learning Suite Click on the 1st option, i.e. Launch Rosetta Stone (Click Open App and the App will take a bit of time to load and then finally take you to the exercises/lessons, etc.)

        Thank you! Got it working.

I uninstalled the app, created a new account and it let me log into the web page with the foundation link.

Then I reinstalled the app and clicked on the foundation link when it finished.

Then it opened Rosetta Stone and had my chosen language.

So key thing is don’t install the app until you have created your account and you can see the foundation link.

      • I needed to uninstall the app to successfully sign in. With the App installed any sign in redirected to the app. Using Safari.

After creating the account and if you want to login via the iOS app do this.
      - Select login with Work Account
      - Enter your username and password
      - Enter s8926287 for the workspace

      That logged me in.

      • @YeboMate has it figured out! This worked on Mac app + iOS.

        • Select login with Work Account
        • Enter your username and password
        • Enter s8926287 for the workspace

Worked for Android! Time to learn Korean!

  • Works on iOS

  • +3

Got it to work on iOS.

Step 1 (download app) AFTER step 3. And BEFORE step 4.

    • Thanks. This has been incorporated into the description.

    • Yep, that worked for me too.

  • -1

Awesome. I can start learning what may become the future primary language of Victoria 😆

      Mandarin?

      Coffee?

    • +1

And today in Dictator Dan's Mandarin grammar class… the other state premiers will lead Dan through the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.

  • +3

Worked for me, although I downloaded the app then completed the rest of the steps on browser, which meant I couldn't log into the app. I simply repeated all steps through my phone browser and it worked flawlessly. +1

    • Thank you, repeating the steps on a phone browser worked!

  • +2

Thanks OP! working on Android, we'll see if I can speak Hebrew soon..

  • Thanks, works on iOS

  • NICE.. worked no issues.

But Why did I choose mandarin?

Also .. can I get around this and use for second language if new phone and play store ID?

  • It worked but when you actually close the app on IOS and want to come back it doesn’t work anymore. You have to go to do the whole process again.

  • +2

    Cant wait to learn english

    • -6

Once you do, could you go teach the PM? (I would do it myself, but since one touched me as a little boy I'm allergic to creepy old dudes who attend certain marches, make slurping noises, and tell me I'm a Chicken Little if I won't: "Just trust me, you'll like it after it's in place, I promise.")

      • +3

you too, need rosetta stone to learn english

  • Thanks OP, brilliant, works fine

  • Seems like works once per signup on the app. I was able to get two different languages for two emails running dual apps on my phone.

It might work just with separate emails but I wasn't able to check that.

    • Separate emails work no problem.

  • +2

Hmm so you have to use that specific link to get in, the mobile app authentication and the Totale Rosetta Stone unauthenticated signin page don't seem to work.

    • I just added the same commented before seeing your post.
Yeah this is what is happening for me too.

  • +1

Confirming that you can sign up using different emails to get different languages, just need to sign out and close the app before changing logins and then clicking through the link.

    • Upon further testing you don't have to sign out/close the app before switching accounts.

And then on further testing you can change the language at the login page using the same email.

Thanks for this! Got it running on iOS. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully - this is also on the PDF: https://salinaspubliclibrary.org/sites/default/files/media_b…

谢谢 (Xie Xie). Thank you very much OP!

  • +5

Am I an idiot, or do I need to sign in a specific way each time?
Every time I open the app normally, and sign in, it says invalid user/password.

Only way I can log in is via the "Launch Rosetta Stone Foundation" link each time, which is a bit of a pain.

    • +2

      Yep, same here

    • +2

i was thinking the same - have to go through the link each time if I log off the app?

    • +1

Anyone else can confirm? Android app?

    • +2

Yep right here too, I'm unable to log into it on my iPhone app.

    • Yep here also - using forgot password is not even sending me a reset email at the moment.

    • After creating the account and if you want to login via the iOS app do this.
      - Select login with Work Account
      - Enter your username and password
      - Enter s8926287 for the workspace

      That logged me in.

  • Amazing. Thanks for sharing.

    • +1

You are welcome! Enjoy the freebie.

Is this a free yearly or lifetime subscription?

    • +2

It looks like life time. No payment information was required.

Absolute worst way to learn a language.

    • +4

Have you read the title? It's $0. It might not be the best way to you to learn a language. But it's definitely better than nothing. I don't understand the neg. 🙄

      • +2

Time is something we never get back. If you invest a year into a system that isn't very good, would it have been better to have paid for a system that gets you to fluency quicker? That depends on how much you value your time. Rosetta stone is generally not very well rated compared to other options. His negs are unfair imo. He's not entirely wrong. Just because something is free, it isn't necessarily good.

Learning another language isn't a necessity, and if it was, you'd pay for a better quality option.

        • Exactly, this is a terrible way to learn a language.
Sure I could have explained why but no time at posting time. People can give it a go but like I originally said this is a terrible way to learn a language, that is based on scientific research.

  • Thanks OP, working for me on android

  • Wow great. How on earth did you come across this haha! Currently enjoying along with Duolingo.

  • It worked for iOS thanks op

  • Thanks Scrooge

    Silly librarians
I cant bring myself to do it
    Im too honest

    • -3

I was thinking the same thing. By using this deal it's possible you are stealing $180 from a public library to get an app you are never going to use.

      • +3

Can someone please explain the neg? Best case you are using one of a limited number of free licenses donated to the library from Rosetta Stone. Worst case you are incurring a cost to the underfunded American public library system.

  • Thanks, got it working

  • +1

The site stated this, potentially we can change the language?

"You may study more than one language. Switching from one language to another language must be performed only on this page."

    • +1

Confirmed, I can change the language from English to French by visiting the page again, wohoo!

      • I think that's only to change the language displayed on that web page

  • Thank you kindly OP.

  • Worked on android for me just now. Muuchas grass e us

  • Thanks OP, worked via the browser.

  • This is awesome! Thanks OP!

That being said, Rosetta Stone is a bit crap (at least for Asian languages). Your local library will likely have their own learning apps available. Ymmv but my local local library in NSW has one that is pretty good and my local (Brooklyn, NY) as a different but equally good one. Both, imho, better than Rosetta Stone.

Nevertheless, I've signed up to Rosetta Stone for a bit of variation.

    ありがとう

    • What are they called?

I'm actually finding this pretty good; I'm impressed by how it recognises pronunciation and how the exercises are structured (I haven't used any other language learning apps recently, though).

      • +1

The NSW one is called "Transparent languages" and the US one is "Mango Language"

They are more traditional courses with structured lessons. Certainly a worthwhile additional resource to complement the several you'd need to actually get to grips with a new language.

  • Thai included?

    • no Thai.. that's also what I wanted, had to choose Tagalog instead

  • GUYS SPANISH (SPAIN) or (LATIN AMERICAN)???

    • +2

      Latin American, of course!
(makes very little difference, actually XD)
      ((my 1st lang is pt-br))

      • +1

        @wisdomtooth legend thank you 😭🙏🏾

  • Note: Choose wisely the language. You can only choose one. And you can not change the language.

Sure, you can. I did. Just go back to the login page and choose another one. I did. Just make sure you close the app from the background before opening it again with another language.

    • +1

I have updated description. I have put an edit: at the end of the deal. Thanks for confirming.
