  • Not priced quite as well as in the past but still currently $41 cheaper that the $261 at bunnings. THe normal $310 price is a bit extreme. I'm guessing it's because the majority of customers would never pay that "normal" price and get a default trade discount?

    • Hey, Everyone has had a recent price rise on paint.

We allow for all bases….. the white base is a little cheaper, but if you were after our most popular colour "Monument" , Bunnings price is the $309.10….

      Have a great day Mate.

Hey, Everyone has had a recent price rise on paint.

        Not just recent….
Going by your OZB sales prices, a 44% price rise over 18 months!

        $152 Jan 2022
        $180 July 2022
        $195 Sep 2022
        $200 Mar 2023
        $220 May 2023
        $250 Jan 2024??

Kids, if you don't know what inflation looks like, this is a fine example.

Looks like Bunnings has followed suit.
@paintmate What is driving this in the paint industry? And you're not allowed to say "global supply chain" which has become the scapegoat for just about every price increase since Covid started.

Also I do sympathise with competing against Bunning's price match policy. It's a bastard (clever?) strategy putting many smaller operators out of business. But "stock liquidation" implies you are closing down or going out of business and selling off the stock.
Looks to me like this is a regular sale you run every 3-6 months.

          Hey!

Yep you're not wrong, the price rises have been crazy, they site "raw material costs" as the reason, but i'm guessing it's labour, transportation and everything else combined.

We are certainly not going out of business, just trying to get some sales and grow our small business, not selling off stock, everything is brand new and fresh.

We do run this sale as it's always a hit, just need to grow our business with good service and knowledge….

  • I got 15L of Dulex Wash and Wear, Mould Resistance for $170 at my cheapest local paint store ~10kms.
I would say this is the cheapest price you can get but $220 delivered, it's still a good deal saving time wait for them to mix it up and transporting it home. Shipping 15kg is always going to be pricey.

Awesome! not really relevant though as one is an interior product and one is exterior…..

  • @paintmate, if i ordered with tint colour: 'dulux - flooded gum', I'm assuming it would be the exact colour of Dulux Flooded Gum? Cause if not, my wife will castrate me :)
Also, is it still alright if i placed an order tomorrow for Metro Brisbane. (Or when's this special ending?) TIA!

    • +1

Hey Mate! Absolutely! Yep tomorrow is no worries at all! look forward to your order! Thanks

  • how is this compared to Dulux weathershield and Wattyl Solar Guard?

    • +1

Painted for 20+ years personally and it's our go to product. Never had an issue. It's the top of the range product.

It offers superior performance against leading competitors, making it the perfect choice for exterior surfaces. Engineered with Nanoguard® Advanced Technology, it has an interlocking molecular structure that works to create a protective shield, so dirt can be washed away without compromising the quality of the paint or damaging the finish.

It comes with a lifetime guarantee* against peeling, flaking and blistering.

Taubmans All Weather is a self-priming water-based paint that acts as a total UV blocker to protect the coating and substrate against the sun.

      • I got rot timber fascia windows and in some areas, I have no clue where and how to start but I guess in some still ok areas, I just apply this paint on, or need to sand and prime first?

        • @paintmate
          unanswered question above
          .

        • +1

Address and fix the rot first. If you are painting over another water based paint in good condition just go over the top. Sand if needed over flaking paint etc. You need a stable surface else will fail.

        • +3

Remove as much rot as possible. Treat the area with wood hardener. Then apply epoxy paste to reshape the timber. Allow the epoxy to set up for a couple of hours then reshape further with a paint scraper. Don't use builders bog. It sets too brittle and doesn't expand or contract with the timber. Eventually it cracks and delaminates and you're back to square one.
Once the epoxy has dried sand, prime and top coat.

  • Hi OP, any further discount on the 3 in 1 prep as well?

  • How long would these typically store for..
    Unopened and opened?

    • +1

Unopened - Ages! if in dry and not too hot easily 2 years
Opened - if sealed properly - in dry and not too hot easily 12 months.

      Possibly more….

I'd buy if i was going to use in a couple of months or less…..

  • Hi OP, do you stock the 10L Intergrain UltraDeck Timber Stain, I am looking to buy together with this 15L if the price is reasonable.
