  • These any good for balloons?

    • +1

There is a ball mode. Not sure about balloons.

    • +2

Lol can but you can't blink

  • +1
    • I believe their are different.

      • +5

        How are their different?

        • +4

I found a review on the 8 cent cheaper one saying: This item was built for china domestic market. ie: NO ENGLISH AT ALL !! The seller probably doesn’t have the authorization to sell the English version. Better get this one, pay 8 cents more and have no trouble with that. This one is also an EBay plus item and has as usual better warranty.

  • +1

Is it good for inflatable pool?

    • It really depends on the mouth piece of the pool and balloons, I guess. Maybe contact their customer service?

    • +3

      I'm going to say no.
This is capable of reaching high pressures - but probably not too good on the volume of air coming out.

You'd be better with something that has a high RPM motor instead of a piston like this.
Even an air duster/shop vac on blow would do a better job for that.

TLDR it will do it but you'll need to charge it 40 times and it'll take 7 hours.

  • Purchased because Richard sent it to me, damn you Richard.

    • You should thank him

      • I did, by saying "stop sending me this stuff when I'm drinking, I'll buy it all", that's like a thanks, right?

  • +1

Thinking might be good for motorbike tool kit in panniers

  • +3

Good for dialling in low pressure on mountain bikes to get those Silca recommended numbers just right and checking car tyre pressure while wheels still cold.

  • +3

Certainly won't ever need it seeing that i bought one. Thanks

  • If it supports 150 psi, with a car tyre, would that be current pressure + 150?

Wondering if it's worth having in the car.

    • Quite a few people buying this for things with power source, such as cars and motorbilkes,

But if you have access to a 12V power supply, would highly recommend a non-battery power air compressor similar to this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07JQW6HBL

So you don't have to worry about charging the battery and aging battery rendering the device useless.

If you are really after something that is compact and self powered, than this is a good one, but not a good use case for cars.

    • No, just 150 in total, but those pressures would be for bike tyres.
I have two of the old versions of these for each car we have, and they've been good for topping up tyres at home, but have also used it on a family members car when they got a flat, and their spare tyre was flat. Easy and cheap insurance.

Get with something like this if you want more insurance (this has got a friends Mustang out of trouble in the middle of nowhere): https://www.repco.com.au/4x4-adventure-escape/tyre-care/tyre…

      • 150 PSI is the max pressure, not volume of air.

Car tyres are typically 30-40 PSI, so this Xiaomi is more than capable.

But if the tyres are already low in pressure, the battery will run out before it can pump up all the tyres.

That's why it's better to get a 12V air compressor for cars.

  • +1

Perfect for keeping your car tyres topped up without having to go to the service station.

  • Thanks OP, bought one for motorcycle kit.

  • Does it work with Intex Kayak?

  • They say it's dangerous to pump a bike tyre at the petrol station. Wouldn't this be similar?

    • +1

No. Petrol station pumps are designed for high volume car tyres, not small volume bike tyres. Petrol station pump takes too long to respond to pressure changes and will blow out a bike tyre. These are smaller volume bumps and have quite good accuracy on the pressure reading and designed for it.

  • Don’t forget there’s a newer version of this. The newer version has a bigger battery I believe

    • I can't seem to find the newer version, care to share the link please?

      • Keeps deleting my link

AliExpress search for Xiaomi Air Pump 2

    • +1

Indeed, such as one from this seller: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005759038223.html

      Improvements:

      • Larger cylinder, so higher air flow, 18L/min, previously 15L/min
      • Improved battery indicator, 4 indicator LEDs, previously 3
      • Air pressure memory, customised mode
      • Quick connector adapter, in addition to screw on
  • Is there something like this that can also be used plugged in in case the battery goes flat and you need to use it then and there?

  • I had one of these, didn't like it. It's super slow to pump, and very slow to charge. If you have power tools, get one that matches your brand. I have the Makita one and it's infinitely better. This one is nice and portable, just found it very frustrating to use.

    • +2

I find it very convenient. Have used it a lot, and do pretty much exclusively cars with it.

  • +2

Using this as an emergency kit in the car paired with a puncture repair kit just in case. Have not had to use it for a flat yet but it works well to top up the PSI in the tires when needed.

  • Looks like a padlock

  • I use one of these for a scooter (10" tyres), it lasts forever for small jobs, but barely has the guts for a high pressure road bicycle tyre.

  • get a Ryobi , external battery ftw.
