    • oops - thanks for update Mod

  • +1

    Price?

  • +4

    Great price

if you say so…you havent told us what it is though

  • +3

It's $49 and code is free shipping at least to NSW for now. Maybe OP can update.

    • -1

i thought free for the item and shipping $19

      /iwish

    • +1

Yup, free shipping with code to Melbourne metro as well.

  • wow 65… i can power my work laptop lenovo with this small one instead of the normal brick! omg tempted

    • Lucky you, I need a 240W one.

      • +1

huh? its work laptop those tiny black boring lenovo, not 17" gaming 4070gpu lol

        • +1

Not your work laptop, my work Dell 7670. :D

    • +1

Looks good. I'll just mention here that last week I ordered a similar but beefier (and heavier) one - yet to arrive in the post. It's been at a similar price before I think so won't do a deal posting for it: $44 for Toocki 140W GaN charger at aliexpress.

It has a detachable (mod: edited) fig 8 cable and can output on all 5 ports at the same time: 65,30,20,12,12w, which is what I was after. Weighs 272g according to an aliexpress review. Note while it does 140w total overall it only does 100W as a single PD, unfortunately.

  • GaN Charger

    Good brand though

    • GaN is a positive thing or negative thing?

      • -4

        neither

        • +3

          Common that doesn't answer ihfree's question. @ihfree it's a thing

      • +3

Smaller charger so its positive. For people who wants to learn a bit more about charger techs: https://www.youtube.com/@ChargerLAB

      • +5

High power density usually means smaller chargers with a lot of power. But can go wrong pretty spectacularly if not well designed and manufactured.

      • +5

Positive - much smaller size/weight for same watts

      • +1

positive - saving silicon for the stuff that needs it and saving power & related carbon emissions

      • +2

If you are using this to charge a phone its probably bad
Fast chargers generate more heat for the battery and will degrade the battery capacity faster.
I am sticking to 5W charger overnight for my iphone, using the macbook charger when I need fast charge.

        • +1

While I completely agree, and do prefer to slow-charge my devices, as dad taught me, I have also read countless times that it's not a problem for lithium batteries. 🤷

    • +16

I have seen your comments on a few things unhappy about things being GaN, out of curiosity, what is your issue with it?

  • +3

Good form factor. Still looking for a travel charger with 65W and interchangable heads to replace my heymix firestarter :D

    • +1

Get an adapter that uses a figure 8 power cord, for example…

Heymix as an example but something like that might be what you need (also good to have 100W available if you ever need it).

    • zyron has it

      • +1

Zyron Powerpod 100W was good for charging phones etc while traveling. It fell out of some US sockets. I used sandpaper to dull the sharp edges on the adapter.

It kept resetting when trying to supply 20V 3A (60W) to one device. Zyron said it doesn't support 60W at 20V.

61W Apple USB-C brick copes fine with the 60W load.

        • Sounds faulty. The charger shouldn't reset as a result of a unsupported wattage. I use a Apple 87W charger which doesn't support 15V with my Steam Deck which requires 15V/3A and I just get a warning that it is charging slower but no issues with resetting.

          • @ihfree: Yeah, I suspect it may be faulty. Zyron reckons 60W at 20V isn't supported and I can't be bothered.

I ended up getting another PinePower Desktop to use on my workbench.

The Belkin 65W is awfully tempting. 🤣

            • @Tim Mc: May as well ask -

              @ibelievesyd Hey rep,

It kept resetting when trying to supply 20V 3A (60W) to one device. Zyron said it doesn't support 60W at 20V.

              Is that normal behaviour?

              • @ihfree: Yeah, I did and they said:

Based on our charger parameters, the Power Delivery it can support is 15V3A and 20V5A. It does not support 60W at 20V unfortunately and therefore not compatible.

                • @Tim Mc: That is so weird, normally if it is not compatible it would just use the max supported V/A combo possible rather than resetting. Either way, that is not a quality product.

                • @Tim Mc: That specific charger does not list 60W in the specification.

Did it have it when you bought it?

When you say resetting, do you mean the charger itself is turning itself on and off continuously?

                  • @CodeXD: It doesn't list 60W. I just assumed that if it has USB-C PD and can support a maximum of 20V 3.25A (65W) then it could negotiate 20V and supply a lower current of 3A (60W).

It manages to negotiate 20V but then resets as the current increases from around 2A.

              • @ihfree: Yes that's correct for the Powerpod 100W. It can do 15V3A or 20V5A.

    • Belkin has the 108W.
I couldn't find any 65W from Belkin/Anker in Aus yet. 108W is too big for travelling.

JB Hi-Fi just price matched it (through Live Chat). Both color too! Live chat: https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/509642091073…

    Just bought one, thanks OP!

    • This one isn't listed on their website though? (Or am I blind!?)

    • +1

Thanks for the tip, price matched at JB :)

    • +1

Just gone through live chat - they said they cant accept the voucher for the free delivery

    • They price matched for me but only in black :/

      • Damn, that's not nice!

        • Any chance share your cart# for white please?

    • Can $50 voucher from JB’s earlier deal be used for this?

    • +1

Thanks David and OP, just priced match with JB.

    • +1

Price matched through Live Chat. Said they usually add $15 delivery but kindly matched anyway.

Created a cart for the white charger.

Couldn't use a gift card online so I went in store. They kindly price matched the cart in store.

  • +2

$15 delivery to WA makes it undelicious unfortunately. Good price if you can get free shipping.

Edit - missed applying the code. Free delivery with it. Apologies.

  • Why not this

    • Trusted brand

      • My bad, thought its belkin

  • +1

Cheaper at SkyComp ($46 no surcharge) for those interested. Although $16.60 postage. Not sure if anyone would price match?

  • Good brand, but Zyron Powastone 65W was a more attractive deal, having the same specs, but coming with 100w USB-c cable and USB-A socket for $10 less.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/788536

    • Zyron is good when they work… but they tend to randomly stop working

  • +3

Got JB HiFi to pricematch via live chat and i just arranged a click and collect

    • Did same.

    • This works fine!

  • How is everyone getting JB to pricematch it for $49, the JB guy said they dont accept the code for delivery and its $15 delivery for me lol

    • +3

log out of the chat and try again lol

      • +4

They will have a record of the previous chat even if you didn’t login. Last time I asked for a price match on a game and they refused. I chat again with another rep moments later and the rep was able to pull up the previous chat and refused my price match request again stating the same reason. The rep asked if I had just chatted with another rep a short time ago, I lied to him it wasn’t me but someone else in the household. That was awkward lol.

Best to use another browser and incognito mode + change email to chat again.

        • I'd maybe tether my phone to my laptop (or just do it all via your phone on mobile network) to change my IP as well in case that's what they're doing!

    • +2

Click and collect is free though.

      • +1

The item is $49 and I don't think this store has click and collect, that's why they add the delivery fee.

Yah JB has click and collect but the item won't be $49 (in my case anyway)

Edit: Ended up getting a Zyron one for $42.49 for anyone interested-

        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0C5VQ1R3L

  • do these lose any power when using overseas via a travel adapter?

    • Should be fine.

  • -2

I got this one from Amazon, it is tad smaller but similar specs otherwise.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09Y5QZZTX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…

    • Hey Mixxxx!! Sounds like a Kmart stocked food processor

    • Are you trying to commit arson by proxy.

  • sigh

I just got JB to price match Amazon before hopping on here to see this post!! #)#$(^#)$#^$#)#$(^)#$)^

Not sure if it's worth the effort of returning it but that's not the Ozbargain mantra

  • Can this be used for Nintendo switch? Have a few perks coupons I'm not using so might be worth price matching JB for $39

    • Yeah you can. The switch draw less than 20W. Don’t think you’ll see any faster charging with this though

    • Different colour

  • +1

Instead of using a figure 8 cable for charging I have a 1.5 meter long extension cable and just use the various adapters as required on holiday.

No as elegant solution, but it works well for me.

  • A question. If my phones are a couple of years old, have Qualcomm chipsets, and specify QC 3.0 chargers, this charger and ones like it can only supply 5V to them because it only supports PD 3.0 and PPS, right?

I read that its possible for chargers to support QC 3.0 and PD 3.0, but I don't see any. Everything these days only specifies PD.

  • I had this one. Nice charger but does not support Samsung superfast charge 2.0, if someone wanted to know.

    • i just plugged in my note 10 plus and it says superfast charge 2.0 in teal?

      • It didn't work in my s23 ultra. I didn't even know until now note 10 plus supports superfast charge 2.0.

    • Using a 5A cable?

      • I used 5A cable and didn't work with my s23 ultra. Someone said above it worked with their note 10 plus.

        • Interesting, according to the spec in the below comment, it should do PPS at 45w.

        • Picked up this charger and tried with a S22 Ultra using a 100w cable and also didn't see SFC 2.0.

          • @ihfree: Do you have super fast charging enabled in battery settings?

            • @CodeXD: Yeah, I see the standard SFC but not SFC 2.0.

      • Not even… Used one of these ones

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/782196

        • The description says 3.1A

    • make sure you use 5amp cable.

      • +1

I used 5amp 100w and it didn't work . I returned it and bought anker ganprime 65w which is working fine for sfc 2.0.

  • +3

For anyone needing to read some specs in detail.

  • I have the white version of this, great compact charger, does get slightly warm but nothing concerning, might grab the black one and give the other to my missus
