Citibank PayAll Scheduled Payments beyond October Still Fee Free?

Just hoping to get some consensus regarding end of citibank payall fee free structure after October.
If I have scheduled payments for next 12 months set up before October. Those payments made after October, will they still be fee free?

I'm getting mixed understanding. On the one band its fee free if scheduled before October. The other thinking is any payments made after October is subject to 2% charge.

Those payments made after October, will they still be fee free?

My magic eight ball says "No".

    Their web page says:

For all Citi PayAll payments set up between 1 April 2021 to 31 October 2023, the Citi PayAll fee will be reduced to 0%

I agree that it's a little unclear because they say for payments set up before October, but I think you can assume that they mean all payments made after that date. On the other hand, if I'm wrong, you win!

it's scheduled payment. whatever scheduled payment after Oct even made on today until 30 Oct will be incurred fee

My Magic 8ball also says no.. especially after the NAB takeover, and the recent cap on payall. Time soon to cancel

    • Exactly. They’re free until NAB shut them down.

You could live chat with them to get clarrification

I'll be going straight to AFCA if that's the case. The wording in the T&C is VERY clear. SET UP between those dates, no mention about PAID between those dates.

  • It's free if set up before 31/10. My existing scheduled payment is ending in Feb 24, I'll cancel it in Oct and set up a new one for another 24 months to maximise the offer.

  • Slightly off-topic, but have they started cracking down on recurring payments? I've been trying to set up recurring but it wouldn't allow me on some transactions, but goes through ok as a one-off payment.

  • 4 - For all Citi PayAll payments set up between 1 April 2021 to 31 October 2023 (the Period), the Citi PayAll fee will be reduced to 0%. Any recurring Citi PayAll payments set up during the Period will not incur the Citi PayAll fee for the duration in which those payments are scheduled to occur. Any recurring Citi PayAll payments set up prior or after the Period will be charged the standard Citi PayAll fee of 2% of the amount of the Citi PayAll payment. This fee will apply to all recurring payments made for the duration in which those payments are scheduled to occur.

Seems like they’re free forever as long as they’re not touched

  • Just an FYI for anyone planning to cancel and then reinstate a new 24 month payall over the next couple of months - if you cancel your payall after the payment has already occurred for the month you will be unable to set it up again until the next month as you have already spent your limit.

I.e My existing recurring payment came through a few days ago, this morning I cancelled it. I was unable to setup a new payment (even though payment date was mid august) because I have spent the limit for July. I will setup the new one in August.

If you cancel in October after you have already had an October payment then you will be unable to set up during the promotional period and will miss out.

    • I did this today (wanted to change the account the payall is going into) I was thinking of calling CS and asking for the limit to be reset since I haven't used it. Did you try that?

      • Tried and got denied :D

    • Hey, silly question, but how does this work exactly - is it based on statement period or calendar month? I've just had my most recent payall go through on September 20, then was able to setup a 24 month payment today. My statement period ends in a few days. Does that mean I'd have two more chances to make a 24 month payall until 31 Oct? Or one? Or none?

  • Dumb question, how do I even set it up as a 24month recurring payment, I can't see the option on the app.
    It just says monthly recurrence

    Edit:*** Nvm found it

  • Citi took my first payall amount out from my available credit limit but havent posted the transaction yet - how long does it typically take for the funds to hit the bank account ?

    • Overnight for me. Received notification 8pm on Monday and funds in the account by 3pm on Tuesday.

  • Just received an email update from Citi re Plus account and the a looming transition to a nab branded account… no surprises given the NAB acquisition. Seems like the good times may be over - suspect credit cards will be next. Anyone have more intel?

  • Seems like I can't schedule payments for next year? So I won't be able to schedule these forever into the future to keep getting the free points after this deal expires.

Shame. I've already taken 3 SQ J flights between EU and AU from this deal ;-(

    • same here. cannot schedule any new payment past december this year

  • So I don't think we got a consensus. I have a payment scheduled for 1 October and really don't want to get hit my the 2%…

    • Push it back a few days?

Surely after a few days you will know whether the 2% is charged to others?

From the bolded part, I read it as that so long as you set it up before the 31 Oct 2023, you will not pay the 2% fee for any payments i.e. If I set up a recurring Payall today 15 Sep 2023, scheduled to occur monthly from today till 15 Sep 2026, I will not incur any fee for the next 3 years.

      • That's how I read it as well but who knows with an outfit like Citi what actually happens.

      • They only offer to 2025 now, but otherwise, yes (unless they kill the cards offering Payall altogether, which is a possibility given that the Citi brand is being killed off by mid-2024 for most products including unsecured credit as part of the NAB takeover)…

  • Hi all, what card do you recommend for just getting the qantas points to use for Payall? I'm a bit pissed I've only found out about this today :<

  • Ive had my $5k payall scheduled transfer just declined today.

I've got 29k of credit limit left. Only few hundred dollars of spending on the card this month. Anyone had that happen to them too?

  • ummm… be quick and enjoy while it lasts:

  • Just in from Citibank:

    Citi PayAll Fee
The Citi PayAll fee promotional offer of 0% will end on 31 October 2023. Effective as of 1 November 2023 the Citi PayAll fee will be reduced from 2% to 0.95%
of the amount of the Citi PayAll payment.

    • Has anyone confirmed with Citibank that

"Any recurring Citi PayAll payments set up during the Period will not incur the Citi PayAll fee for the duration in which those payments are scheduled to occur."

will still apply post 1 Nov 2023? The updated website seems to have removed this line so Im unsure now.

      • in the FAQ section of the Payall page, it still states:

For all Citi PayAll payments set up between 1 April 2021 to 31 October 2023 (the Period), the Citi PayAll fee will be reduced to 0%.*

*Any recurring Citi PayAll payments set up during the Period will not incur the Citi PayAll fee for the duration in which those payments are scheduled to occur. Any recurring Citi PayAll payments set up prior or after the Period will be charged the standard Citi PayAll fee of 2% of the amount of the Citi PayAll payment. This fee will apply to all recurring payments made for the duration in which those payments are scheduled to occur.

        So…. dunno?

  • Anyone have a crack at speaking to the folks at Citi / NAB yet to confirm if payall fees will be applicable across the board (regardless of pre scheduled) from Nov?

    • +1

You will be charged 0.95% for scheduling Payall post Oct

The Citi PayAll fee promotional offer of 0% will end on 31 October 2023. Effective as of 1 November 2023 the Citi PayAll fee will be reduced from 2% to 0.95%

      • My question mark was more around whether the fee will apply to pre nov/existing scheduled payments (I currently have payments scheduled until 2025). Seems like it'll be a case of taking a punt to see if my nov payall cops a fee - clear as mud currently.

I had phone call as well as live chat with Citi Support, both advise there is no fee for existing recurring PayALL set up during the period. Kept a screenshot in case required in the future.

  • I have seen so many post and questions/debate aboutut Citi Payll, that I really hope Citi bank itself publicly announce that " any payall setup prior to 31st October will not incur a charge or fees.

    • Yeah though I reckon they might stop points being earned on them.
