I don't want models. I just want shirts

    • I like nice shirts.
These prices remind me of the 1990's.
So the price is really good.
It is pity the colors and styles look like the 1990's too. :-)

    • I want models, wearing my business shirts.Unbuttoned.

  • +10

used to buy those and other brands from UK a lot pre-covid..now wfh 5 days a week i need more pijamas

  • Got some thanks OP! Shipping to metro Sydney is $7.95 under $100 spend…. still not bad prices though.

If you are matching business shirts for seasons then Van Heusen isn't for you.

I don't think most people care.

      • +2

You can still choose a lightweight business shirt for summer against another with a heavier thread pattern which is more suitable for winter.
You also should care about what material is the shirt made of and which one is more suitable for winter or summer.
It's all about education, shopping knowledge and understanding marketing and I believe that Van Heusen is happy to welcome anyone who is looking to buy shirts.

        • Or for people who change their undershirt this information is entirely irrelevant.
Uniqlo sells both Heattech and AIRism undershirts, one for winter one for summer.

Keep your sweat patches off your business shirts, shirt material becomes not that relevant, and on the plus side your shirts last longer as well!
Much more efficient to change the internal fabric than the external one.

          • @thedean:

Or for people who change their undershirt this information is entirely irrelevant.

Of course people wear undershirts (unless it's hot summer) and the same rules apply as above, a light one for warm weather and a heavier one for winter.
And if it's full hot summer and I need to wear a business shirt, I must carefully choose a light one.

          • @thedean: and dont forget the office pants from uniqlo! very warm too and still thin

            • @CyberMurning: I find target one is better, more comfy, and cheaper too.

        • +1

Sorry, for $20/shirt I don't think people care. VH might be able to cater higher premium brands for the more choicy consumers (though I am unsure whether that is their market, unlike say a CT), but not this $20 all purpose range.

        • +4

yes, its important when you are sitting in your office in summer when the air con is set to 22C to have a lightweight shirt, because if you are sitting in your office in winter when the air con is set to 22C its completely different and you must have a heavier thread.

          Oh, wait…

I live in Canberra. -6C through to 42C. If its cold you put your jacket on. If its hot you dont. Same shirts the year around. Perhaps I'm just an uneducated lout.

      • what are you recommending for summer or short sleeve shirt plz? cheers

        • +1

You wear summer or short sleeves to work? If so, check Lowes

    • +3

      ……… they're business shirts……..

    • +2

In my view they are all Summer Shirts… until I throw a jumper over my non-ironed Shirt… it then becomes a Winter shirt :D

    • +1

WTF did I just read about a $20 shirt?! Hahaha.

  • What's worth spending the remaining $40 on here?

    • +4

      6 shirts for $120 :p

  • +2

Wow, I’m impressed that they have sizes up to 4XL! That’s very inclusive and considerate of them. I usually struggle to find clothes that fit me well in the mainstream brands, but these look promising. I might give them a try too.

    • +1

I noticed that Tommy and CK in recent sales had models wearing those size shirts as well which was hugely helpful to see how they sit on larger people.

I was a big fan of charles Tyrwhitt as their sizes, quality and customisation of sleeve lengths is fantastic combined with good price. But with WFH now 2-3 days a week I have not needed to buy work shirts since pre-covid.

    • +3

Since I started wearing CT, just can’t stand other brands anymore. 🤦. Excellent quality and good price

    • +1

Charles Tyrwhitt is a classic example why people buy oversea products instead of local cheap China imports.
Some uneducated shoppers above believe that any shirt thread and material (they don't know what is this) is good for winter while I know that you need to choose the right one for each season.
Here you can choose the right "heavier weight" business shirt for the winter season.
Education, share and shopper knowledge is what we like on Ozbargain, but some people just like clicking on the neg button LOL.

instead of local cheap China imports

Local to me would mean made in Australia. My belt, for instance, is made by McCaul in Eumundi and they use leather sourced from within Australia. That is a local product.

"cheap China imports" is not local by any measure.

Chares Tyrwhitt also makes some (a lot?) of their stuff in the cheapest sweatshop they could find in China. They did say they will "scale back production in China", but there's no clear information on how much of it is made there. If it's not explicitly stated in their product page as Made in England, Italy, etc. there's an excellent chance it came out of a Chinese sweatshop.

    CT or none!

  • +1

Their sleeve length always runs on the short side.

    • This is true - I have to buy a bigger collar size to get the right sleeve length!

    • Yep, I need a size 42 but the 90 sleeves are too short…

  • +2

VH shirts are absolutely crap IMO. $20 is about what they're worth.

    • Concur, ordered 3 for $90 or 100 some months ago and the threads started to unravel each after a few wears. The sizing was inconsistent between the 3 shirts as well, so not really worth it even at this price.

  • Is this offer available in store?

  • Thanks OP! Ordered 3. Wearing VH cotton shirts for few years, fits me well and comfortable enough.

  • Thanks, ordered some stuff! $20 off for new members as well.

  • they sent the wrong size last I ordered and since then no email support, most(all?) VIC stores closed and nowhere to get it sorted. Not worth the trouble.

  • wow, been dreading the whole buying workshirts dilemma, thanks for this

got 7 shirts delivered for $125 with the code + CB

lets hope the sizes fit LOL

  • -3

    OMG these are disgusting 🤢

  • VH shirts are not a good blind buy. I've tried many in stores and the sizing/fit is off. Their returns process is easy though if you're ordering online just be prepared to return some lol..

I don't agree with some of the above posts. Yes they have some crap shirts but they also have some decent ones I wear to the office.

  • D'oh. I just used the 3 for $99 last week, with a couple of $25 specials on top for free shipping.

  • Anyone manage to use a $20 new member coupon with 4 shirts at a total price of $85 and then bring it down to $65?

    • I recently joined up and didn't get the email for the $20 new member sign up, have opened up a new case with them now to chase it. Did anyone get it to work?
