Travel that is not consumed
Items that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
Fraudulent transactions.
Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

  Always check with a separate, private browser session on hotel site bookings for the same hotel/date as quite often Jack comes along on the referral links and is greater than the cashback amount in the first place.

    Yeah I noticed that recently, was cheaper directly with the hotel website and worked out almost the same with cashback.

    I had an issue where I had to cancel or reschedule my booking a day before my stay. With booking.com it told me it’s policy was no refunds and no changes, but direct with the hotel would have been free to change it cancel until the stay. I ended up managing to cancel through booking.com but I rang up the hotel and chased them up a couple of times after lodging the refund request. In the future I’m just booking direct. Sick kids and covid during winter mean higher risk of changes.

    Maybe for some. I just rebooked for the exact same price with double CB, so I guess YMMV

  And not all prices are always inflated due to increased cashback. Some are though, always check with other sites like hotels.com, Agoda and Expedia

  Thanks OP. Rebooked one place for the same price. The other one was a small hotel and had gone up in price since we booked so couldn’t rebook that one.

  Usually, the price is jacked up however when i did the aforementioned it was actually the same price so the cashback was actually legit!
