Anova Precision Chamber Vacuum Sealer $438.99 (Was $549) + Shipping from $17.00 @ Anova Culinary

30

Higher price than it last went on sale, 25% off the full price. 2 year warranty and Aus plug.

From the Anova website:

  • Anova Precision™ Chamber Vacuum Sealer is a fully operational chamber sealer that’s been sized down substantially and made more intuitive to operate than those typically found in professional kitchens. Pre-programmed settings allow you to seal like a pro, even liquids, or take advantage of the pressurized environment to make things like quick pickles, infused alcohols, flavored oils, and much more, as easy as the touch of a button. *

Chamber sealers are used by professional chefs due to their ability to reliably achieve an airtight, mess-free seal — especially when it comes to liquids. The Anova Precision™ Chamber Vacuum Sealer brings that technology to your home at a fraction of the cost, with plenty of preset modes to do far more than just sealing.

Aaand make sure you use a card that doesn't charge international fees. I went on the "Australian" page for this, prices showed in Aud, charged in Aud but then got stung an international fee.

    • Oh that's shitty.

How do you find the chamber sealer?

      • Didn't get that one, got the sous vide tub. Yes I know I could diy an esky or cheaper ones around, but my husband likes it lol. No more using alfoil as a makeshift cover.

        • I have the tub and it’s worth it. I was doing the plastic tub and ping pong balls and it’s fine but it’s a whole lot less efficient.

The chamber sealer is amazing, I came from one of the roll sealers to this, and I find this so much better and will never go back.
The down side is the limited size but I have only come across that issue when I wanted to do full racks of ribs…
The bonus is being able to do liquids. (I have made up bags of water to use as ice bricks.)

Do you have this particular one?

@SickDmith: Yes, I bought it about 12 months ago.
It appears to be a redesign of the Avid Armour USV20. (Moved the controls etc)

            • @Tsim: Thank you for details.
              I am convinced. :)
              Where do you get bags?

              • +1

@SickDmith: Generally Amazon. I don't buy the Overpriced Anova Bags.
There are also a few vendors in Australia for Vacuum bags.
Prices have increased over the last 12 months though.
I used to be able to get $0.09 per bag, but prices are are around $0.29 at the moment (I haven't had a good look at current pricing, as I am still getting through my old stock, I bought 2,000 bags)
You want to get smooth bags, not the ones with ripples on one side

I've had this happen to me but when paying via PayPal on booking.com.

Complained to bank who told me to go to booking.com. They then surprisingly gave me a ~15% credit for the 'confusion'.

I still completed to the ACCC anyway as I think it is totally unfair to expect the consumer to somehow know.
