now that's a bargain. free delivery, too.
even then, i'm like, 60hz, 512gb SSD, 8gb RAM…….
for $2,000.00
it's 2023.
Thinking the same about combustion engine cars that are still tens of thousands $ in 2023.
Unless it's a quality car. Or a quality laptop.
@Carrian: or ICE and BEVs
@Trishool: i like ice in my bevs.
cheers.
@pizzaguy: I mean … Why though ?
It's not just the engine it's the entire car right ? not to mention $$$ to value is amazing at the moment, well outside of the current issues with supply.@DellDealLols: I know right!
Given how Apple products keep reselling at a good price, it can't be just about the specs.
@Roryty: This, when the first M1 Air came out, I bought the base model with 8GB of RAM thinking "oh well, it's going to be a spare laptop anyways what's the harm in 8GB of RAM". Chrome would eat up so much RAM sometimes I'd have Chrome close due to insufficent memory.
I'd say a bare minimum in 2023 is 16GB, 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD should be the standard norm for base models going forward imo.
More than $2023
yeah.. its a bargain relatively speaking i should say :p
What's the neg for?
ops price isn't the best price available?
Where do I get 10% GCs!???
mm…
Isnt it just A$2,206.60 + free delivery at AEU store?Are you asking or telling us it is? The neg suggests the latter, but hell knows.
the cashrewards 5% cashback on Apple Store alone should bring the price down to $2194.5 without the 10% giftcard deal.

$2206
Under 2k with gc discounts
8GB RAM is a deal breaker IMO. 16GB is essential for future-proofing, and shouldn't be an unreasonable ask for $2250 given the prices of RAM at the minute.
I have an 8GB M1 Air and its really pushing the limits of RAM availability on my device.
Disclaimer: I only buy Apple laptops, so no, I'm not an Apple hater.
Idk how much your average Air user would be pushing it to its limits tbh but valid point.
The 15” Air looks real good we bought one for my boss recently and I’m pretty jealous. For my workload, I have a 16” MBP M1Pro which hasn’t skipped a beat but it’s just so damn heavy so it’s a pain dragging that brick around. I also have a 2019 13” MBP which (imo) looks wayyy better and a great package but the fan & heat are the absolute worst.
Best combo for the average user would be 15” Air with 16gb unified and 512gb SDD. If that’s stretching the budget, go 16gb & 256 because memory is cheap.
This ram is faster and integrated on the chip. But still 8 GB is ridiculous.
8gb ram at year 2023. No
Let's all thank Apple for bumping the base storage from 128GB to 256GB on the MacBook Airs atleast /s.
16Gb minimum or not worth imo
but but but… it is a mac….
Looks to have expired
pliantly ?
I doubt it…
