Are you serious? The deal would have ended less than two hours after you posted. It a Saturday deal and you left it to almost midnight?

Not specifically mentioned, but was part of the Super Saturday Sale. Should expire at Midnight. No guarantee they'll honour, but don't see why not.

  • Thanks, I got some via pickup :)

  • There was a whole bucket load of these at HN Sunshine, not running out anytime soon.

  • went ahead and purchased 3, $6 later and I paid via paypal.. I'll post back with how I go :P

  • so how can we find out more super saturday deals?
i had a look on the website but only found the catalogue ones

  • I hope they are going to honor it… as I will pick up on monday.

Both my husband and I got 1 of these last year from HN and they were terrible. My files keep getting corrupted and even re-formatting didn't help. It happened to both of us, so I wouldn't touch it even if it was free. We've thrown ours out of course.

    • oh bugger I wish I had read your post before I just bought 3 and paid for them :(

If it makes you feel any better, I have been using a few of them day in and day out for over a year and no problems yet…

        Maybe Stardust77 got a bad batch ?

thanks Dave and well if it does corrupt files after re formatting I suppose I can always take them back :( and I agree with HTC Toshiba is a good brand name so maybe Stardust 77 did get a bad batch. I had to return 2 X segate 2tb once so that was a bad batch, it can happen

      • I think Toshiba is a reliable brand, I used them for many years and not had problems with it. I got 4gb SanDisk about 4 years ago, special price from HN city. Only lasted a few months before it went faulty, unfortunately did not back up and lost lots of valuable file. I had been backing up ever since. Got 2x 2gb Toshiba USB for replacement from HN.

Got this exact same one last year. Died on me less than 3 months later after having been used only four times. Went to my local HN and complained. They replaced it for me, no questions asked. I didn't even have a receipt. (They searched their records for my sale)

Anyway, the replacement has been used heaps and is still going strong. It may have just been a bad batch.

    • Yeah I had the same issues with these. Weird as its Japanese designed USB, you'd expect this sort of thing from US brands but not so much from the japs

    • No probs here. Have been using one for the past year or so.

  • BTW, there is a limit 3 per customer

great deal thanks, I always grab these 4gb sd or usb flash drives as often get people ask me to copy things for them and @ $2 I dont mind sending the info they want on one of them as they are cheap

Great deal for those interested, but for me I've switched almost exclusively to Dropbox :)

    • Doesn't help if you have no internet access though or need to use them as boot devices :P

Copying speed on the other hand is 15mb/sec
