  • The $28 Epson printer looks like a decent deal too. Even if you use it just as a scanner.

      $19 too much ;)

      • Somehow I don't think we'll ever see that 9 buck Dell again. ;)

    • Actually can anybody suggest a cheap compact scanner? Or would getting a MFC be the cheapest way? I own a laser printer so don't intend on printing if I was to get an MFC

      • +1

Standalone scanners start ~$110 eg Canon LIDE110 Colour Scanner.

A cheap AIO printer with a scanner is usually sold by the manufacturer at a loss, hoping you'll spend way more on ink to make it up.

So if you never print, and use it just as a scanner it's a pretty good deal.

However eventually you'll have to buy ink or throw it out as the printer will "clean" the heads from time to time and use up all the ink.

Standalone scanners usually come with better scanning software than cheap AIO printer too. But you'll be paying 4x the cost of a AIO printer.

Buy one LAZYBOY recliner and get the second at $50 off

Yeah, right! Normal negotiations will get better than that.

Has anyone bought this particular model of Garmin? An online review I came accross states that it doesn't come with a mount - is that correct? Lifetime map updates makes this fairly tempting.

      From The Garmin Web Site:

      What's in the Box:
      nüvi 50 GPS
Preloaded City Navigator® NT mapping for the Australia & New Zealand (WhereIS)
      Vehicle power cable
      Vehicle suction cup mount
      Quick start manual

    • +1

Note that the included suction cup is only adhesive against the windshield of your car, it won't stick to your dashboard.

http://www.garminredemption.com/ for the lifetime map updates (must be purchased between 1st August and 30th of September).

    • I bought the Garmin in that recent $88 sale, I actually like it. I have it on mute so I can't comment on the voice output though! But it turns itself off when I turn the car on, and turns itself on automatically when I turn the car on (and goes into "map view" by itself, which is handy)… so far, so good! It's probably a little bit too big for my liking though, but my last GPS was a 3.5" model!

      • +1

All GPS units turn off when car turns off as its not getting any power from the car anymore

  • That Topfield 7160 for $328 is a very good floor price. Throw the Autoscheduler TAP on it and never miss another show :-)

Poor OP. you should have 50 plus votes by now only when you titie your deal like buy one get one free iTunes card. thanks for the deal and have a good day

  • Damn that's pretty good price for a 55" LED aint it?

    • Bing Lee cleared a dumb Cinema 3D version for less.

      • Well, this is the "smart" version, so makes sense that its more?

But $1300 for a 55" LED Smart TV seems like a good price…hmmm

        • Depends what features you desire. Rather have Cinema 3D than Smart functions.

    • Yeah I'm also curious as to if it is a good deal or not… Any thoughts?

  • Why did i have to go out and buy this GPS for $88 at JB.

    It's always the way.

    • I price matched mine at The Good Guys, but cbf doing the "120% / 30 day price guarantee" thing to get my $7.20 back ;)

      • +5

Please return OzBargain membership badge :p

        • LOL I know…I feel ashamed, although the other reason is because I have done that 30 day price guarantee with my local Good Guys 4 times since getting those gift cards, and am starting to get "that look" from the staff!

        • just explain to them that you drove 50Km to get your $7.2 back then it'll all be good

        • +1

Show them the Ozbargain badge next time and they will stop the staring.

  • DSE have a Navman 5" case for $10 atm:

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/D6598/navman-protective-carr…

    It fits the MY75T, which is 142.5 x 88.5 x 17.4 mm…the Garmin is 140 x 86 x 18mm, so should be fine.

    This $10 HDD case might work too (internal dimensions: 152 x 95 x 31mm):

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XH0987/case-logic-hard-drive…

    • nice deal for the case. i would have bought it but already found a fancy nintendo ds case which fits perfectly :)

  • Are ultrabooks included in the sale?

With the "Seagate 'GoFlex' 750GB Portable Hard Drive (STAA750302)" i need 1 for the laptop, but can i use it internal in a desktop if i want to ?

  • Can I go to multiple HN stores to get this more then once.. HN is one of those places that ask / tie your purchase to your address right - so maybe they'll pick up on this?

    • +1

give a fake address? or just change the street number to 1a rather than 1.

2:20AM! Love how an Ozbargainer works 24 hours a day.

Most OzBargainers don't work at all. ;)

  • Ooh the camera looks good, but i heard olympus comng out with a new range or about to announce a new range….anyone confirm?

    • Yep, the photokina event is next month, a lot of new cameras will be announced/revealed across the board.

  • So is the Garmin Nuvi 2350 thats $50 @ DSE better than the Nuvi 50? can't decide between the two!

    • no need to decide. Nuvi 50 available everywhere. Nuvi 2350 available nowhere for $50.

      • +1

        Nuvi 50 Lifetime Map updates.
Nuvi 2350 one free map update during first 90 days of use, then $99 for one update or $189.99 for lifetime map updates.

Beware Toshiba flash drives. I don't know about the 4GB ones but my 16GB is a lemon (frequently corrupted data).

    • all toshiba usb are crap which is why they run them out so quick, but good if you want a once use only to give to someone

  • For those wondering, if you miss the shavers, you can get them from myer for $25 (foil) and $30 (rotary)

  • Got the last (actually only) Nuvi 50 from HN Belrose NSW. They were actually very helpful in finding this posting on OB so I could get the $82 :-).

The box doesn't have the LifeTime maps, you need to go to http://www.garminredemption.com/garmin-redemption-au.asp?c=a… and upload a scan of your receipt and serial number.

Anyway many thank OP, this is a nice upgrade from my 2 year old Nuvi 1250. Super fast GPS lock-on as well

    • Thanks for the reply. Won't bother going to HN Belrose for Garmin. As my parents Tomtom stopped working whilst they were away on holidays and they probably won't get back today before the stores close. Before I can check out what the problem is. So may have to go online to get online to deal if the TomTom is not repairable.
