Come with the better controller (DJI-RC). Not the all time lowest price but close enough in my book.

Thanks for saving my trigger happy fingers.
This truely is not a great situation to buy first and ask questions later. Although Amazon is better than many others for returns.
Amazon is better than many others for returns.
100% agree. In contrast, if you look at 15% "restocking fee" charged by Centrecom, you would get only $679 back if sold by Centrecom.. a restocking fee of $119 !!. I know they dont sell it but feel for those who buy their refurbished GoPro deals .. https://www.centrecom.com.au/refurbished-gopro-hero-7-black.. Price $399, you would lose $59.85 if you return it after "opening" it. So yeah, Amazon is the best to deal with and I am expecting for all those "pro-business" preachers to reply here.
@Ozsaver88: Love Amazon's return policy but cant imagine anyone but them and their large wallets and logistics network offering that process after taking into account shipping costs here in aust
@EnergicAU: At the end the manufacturer pays…not Amazon…they are just happy to give all these generous terms and refunds etc but they charge the manufacturer for it…
Thanks for saving my happy trigger fingers
Correct. This is just the Mini 2 repackaged in the Mini 3 Pro form factor. Nothing more.
Vertical shooting makes all the difference imo.
Also has the larger sensor from the pro.
https://www.d1store.com.au/lounge/content/dji-mini-3-vs-dji-…
Is the difference just a double FPS?
Is the sensor better than the Mini 2?
Is the difference just a double FPS?
Your link actually mentions the differences. Scroll down to 'Similarities and Differences'.
Basicaly: better tracking, obstacle sensors, bigger MP stills, and FPS. Given that my Pro's sensors didn't work at the only time they needed to, and it's now gone, I don't think the Pro is worth the extra cost if you're price conscious.
Hmm, It does look like it's better specs for the camera. Not sure that it makes a great difference. But given that I don't actually need a drone and it's bloody illegal to fly most places and situations I'll hold off.
@furyou: It's the same sensor, the difference is that the processor allows for higher FPS and MP. Higher MP are irrelvant unless you're going to be doing large prints, which I doubt. Higher FPS may be nice if you want to slow-motion video.
@besttraveltech: wait, they stuffed at 48mp sensor in, and put a processor so it can only take 12mp photos? That's just dope.
@furyou: The sub 250g weight is your freedom ticket. You can fly them pretty much anywhere (check out OK2Fly app).
@UFO: I mean that's 1 thing, but the "You must keep your drone at least 30 metres away from other people" rule means basically get out of Sydney.
@furyou: 30m is fairly generous, would you feel comfortable if some pleb was buzzing 10 m away from you? Depends on the situation but don't fly your flying brick around people.
@lew380: the hack is flying right over a crowded festival anyway, 3m over the food trucks, way out over the hill out of line of sight, 5m over kids in a playground
nobody giving a crap, nobody doing anythingthe law abiding can't use theirs for anything useful.
@furyou: The law should be enforced, call the police if some maniac is flying around illegally. What's your point?
Pro’s sensors don’t work for sideways obstacles which is kinda when you need it most - what you can’t see with the camera
The mini sensor systems are pretty much useless imho. Mavic… But then you fly ksic) afoul of CASA
TRUST OZ TO LEGISLATE THE FUN OUT OF LYFE
@Whiplash: Legislation is generally globally consistent on using drones and where you can / cannot fly. I was flying a 970g Mavic 2 Pro in sports mode at the weekend at a drone aerobatics show in the South Pacific. Top speed is around 70km/h (20 metres per second). You can injure / kill someone if you collide with them. That is why these rules are put in place. Most "home" drone operators don't think of the consequences of dangerous flight nor ramifications of injuring people or property. The easiest way to resolve this is to get your RPA (free) and fly drones < 250g. Alternatively, get your RPA, RePL, plus get insured. Then you can fly pretty much anywhere subject to submitting a flight plan and a risk assessment.
Damn my happy trigger fingers (with the upvote)
Thanks, got me excited for a brief moment thinking it is the Mini 3 Pro.
Great price. Thanks OP!
Concur, great price. Nice if they'd drop the pro sub $1k…
Yep hopefully end of this year would be great
Still trying to think of a business use for this kind of thing. But I don't think anyone I deal with really wants a bird's eye view of anything.
Depends on what you're dealing or who you're dealing with.
Maybe early baldness detection ? Fly it over crowded areas, use AI to detect early baldness, then use facial recognition to alert the local Ashley and Martin of new marketing leads ..
Maybe a good idea for a campaign, anytime men see a drone they will be paranoid about being balled and will think about contacting Ashley and Martin.
Pilot needs this
My air conditioning chap had one, he has it to check out roof layouts prior to installation of the Ac hardware
Could be good for checking blocked drains on roofs too. I do graphic design though. All I can think of is an aerial fly over of shops and stuff, but I bet the roofs of businesses look very boring and not what people want to see in a Facebook ad.
I feel like a stick and camera would be faster
Real estate agents use them all the time
Hmm, true. I guess when houses are worth a million+ dollars that spending money on a video ad could make sense.
I have a Mini 3 Pro for business purposes.
They do exist. My friend said the rule "You must keep your drone at least 30 metres away from other people" means all those flyover beach vids, zoom into a team on a field vids, fly in/over some building site, RE agents flying over house, team building activity fly drone over group at end for group pic, kids selling photos of top down views of beaches with people - would all be illegal. Is this true/false?
What can you do that involves people?
Under 250g drones are exempt from a lot of rules though
@Mischaseb: only the airport 5km rule
everything else fun/interesting still banned
Is your friend a fully qualified, authorised, and insured pilot? It's amazing what you can do when you obtain your Commercial Drone Accreditation License, Remote Pilot License, insurance, and register your drones with CASA …
@H4nd0: Yes, but I don't know the details, can you let me Know what the deal is? I can only see the Casa page and it seems you can't really do anything. The 30m rule alone stops most things.
I bootstrapped a fledgling business in professional vehicle photography. The drone provides an excellent visual perspective that is not possible to achieve with a hand held camera. I also work with the SES and emergency services providing reconnaissance footage of fire fronts, flood inundation and other climactic events. I work for a company in NSW that offers drone based LiDAR scanning of buildings, roads, footpaths etc. to build 3D topographic reliefs and other mapping and visualisation for town planning, structural integrity, building management, insurance compliance and so forth.
You know what will really blow your mind … underwater drones. One of the team in NSW does the same work but underwater. Visual inspections of pipes, jetties, and mapping of river beds and sea floor to prepare for excavation and dredging. https://www.qysea.com/products/fifish-v6/
Yeah that's pretty cool.
Basic photogrammetry, would need gnss capabilities to get it geo referenced though, that's a significant cost.
Check out Fixar 007 eVTOL + Livox AVIA + Metashape.
Something to work towards! I've flown the elios 3, beautiful little drone for underground and tight inspections, work is about to get one.
Payload Release System now listed on the D1 store (remote has 100m range):
https://d1store.com.au/products/brdrc-payload-release-dji-mi…
Please note: Use of this Payload Release System will void your drone’s factory warranty.
No way can they sell an official accessory then say you have no warranty.
Well, they did.
"factory warranty "!
you still have your Australian consumer protection
holy bahkmut liberation, batman!
I love the concept but I'm struggling to think of a single use. 100g. Any ideas?
Safe weed delivery..
Dropping off your fishing hook is one of their proposed uses. I'm sure people will come up with all sorts of "just for fun" uses too.
@eug: How many Ashley and Martin flyers can 100g get you? You'd need some kind of spooling system as well for targeted flyer dispatch, don't want to cluster release and risk hitting innocent fully-haired civilians.
@eug: Just dont crash this into sea water. If you crashed onto land/tree/building, worst maybe broken props or body, but if you dunk this into seawater while motor running, bye2x unit. And yes, i've done it before.
Fishing
@PVA: I'm lost. How on earth would this work in practice? From shore to a small boat close to shore. Is that it? Wouldn't they have everything with them anyway?
@seamonkey: Carries the line/bait out from shore and drops it where you see some fish.
Ruin some Russian invader’s day. I regret watching some of those videos.
Very nice price but my original DJI Mini 1 is still going strong
Good for you! How do you rate your DJI Mini ?
But I’m only interested in the RC controller…
I saw this and was thinking I over paid by 50% for mine with a FlyMore kit🥲 but then read first comment that it wasn't the PRO … 😂😀
Are these even legally able to be flown anywhere outdoors any more? I had a look at https://opensky.wing.com/ and couldn't see anywhere in Sydney that a recreational user could fly them :(
The orange zones are authorisation zones, you can fly there with an authorisation permit. Easily obtained in app.
I personally don’t understand why u would waste so much money on a toy like this and very likely to get it lost in the tree. And then there are so many places u can’t fly this. Even with paying for the insurance add on still a lot of money.
It’s not much money, and it’s a cheap hobby in the scheme of things. Fly it for two years, sell it for 50%, cost you $200/year.
Is there a way of practising flying this drone?
yolo it and go to a big field, it's what I do
Get licenced and abide by the rules and your options are more vast. Operate under a ReOC and you can fly this practically anywhere being sub 250g
how hard is thi licence
Ahh the mini 3 pro is what I would go for..downgraded from the air2s to the mini3 pro and it's fantastic.
Excellent drone regardless, even if not the pro.
Rumour of mini 4 pro coming, kinda suprised! Figured they could leave the 3 pro out for 3 or 4 years it's so good
Bought a min se a few years ago. Used like three time and wowed by the camera and control first time. I suppose you really need to love this filming to appreciate.
Everything is great. Thanks.
What do with it
What's love, but a second-hand emotion?
Baby, hurt me.
woah. That escalated quickly.
@seamonkey: That was the quickest 3 minutes of my life
@capslock janitor: Are you actually my wife?
Thanks for interest but apparently I have broken some regulations about soliciting sales in Ozbargain and I have received a warning. Didn't mean to break any rules.

Managed to get the Mini 3 Pro w/ DJI RC from JB Hi-Fi.
Where is the best bargain place to buy the Refresh Plan for this model?I searched on eBay, and the item is not even listed. So, no discount using eBay gift cards.
Back to the DJI store for $119 RRP. :(How much were you able to get it for? Might look into JB
Everyone this is not the more popular Mini 3 PRO (Just FYI)
