I agree, the 3 is really spooning that date window.
The should have just done a ghost/phantom date. Just because it's part of the movement doesn't mean you need to show it.

A mod revised the end date to 15 July 10:00am, when I have it on good authority that Starbuy Friday one day deals end the following Monday at 10:00am.
That was in a recent PM from WatchNerd for this deal that I gratefully corrected to Monday 10:00am based on their advice.
That is a very interesting design. I kinda like it (as part of a multiple watch rotation)
The part that bugs me is why is there a 3 (albeit part of it) as well as a date window? The date window is also set quite far into the dial which is generally a sign that the movement is too small for the case. It will function fine but it just looks weird.
It would look like an excellent watch (esp in the black or blue) if it had no date
