Ozito PXC 18V 250mm Cordless Chainsaw with 4.0Ah Battery Kit $136 (RRP $224) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Bunnings

550

This deal inspired me to get a chainsaw to reclaim some of my yard that is now more like the bushland. Decided to see what the Ozito equivalent was before getting into another brand's ecosystem and was surprised to find this kit was on sale even though the list page still shows the RRP. Both have similar features and the same weight for those one handed warriors/jugglers. Only difference is the Ozito doesn't have tool free chain tensioning.

Model PXCCSK-418 Ozito link

Kit includes:
- PXC 18V 250mm Cordless Chainsaw
- Guide bar cover
- Screwdriver to tension the chain
- PXC 18V 4.0Ah Li-Ion Battery
- PXC Fast Charger

Skin only is already $134 so for an extra $2 you get a 4.0Ah battery and charger

Nrby link shows plenty of stock around the country

Nowhere near as good as the last deal though…

Last deal for $62, i ordered one as special order and they gave me 2

Just need one more and you could be the Ozito chainsaw man

(On serious note, damnnnn you lucky…)

      • They had 2 in the box when i got home lol. Didnt bother going back to give them the extra one

You're a tougher person than me. I ordered 5x 6-packs (all different beers) for Christmas Eve/day from Dan Murphy's. They had 5 cartons there when I went to pick it up. I thought about it for a second and the packer getting into shit (which I guess isn't likely) but I couldn't bring myself to do it lol.

    • $62 is worth it, I wouldn’t pay 136 for this

I remember last deal when it was 67, I went to the Bunnings I am not familiar with, took me some time to find where it was located. A couple took the last unit right in front of me. Like 1 meter.

      (┛ಠ_ಠ)┛彡┻━┻

    • Funny how nice people are in store. If it was a parking space, there'd be a riot.

Thanks OP. I was just going to buy one.

      • I remember a video involving toilet paper a couple of years ago.

But i guess in this case, the couple had a chainsaw in their hand so i wouldn't piss them off either.

Nice deal OP. Just never had the need for a chainsaw. Find myself using a combination of my circular saw or reciprocating saw to cut larger stuff I can't be bothered hand sawing.

  • +2

I have had 2 of these and on both the knob that holds the chain cover on strips the thread when its tightened and i was extra careful on the 2nd one.

    • +1

I had an Ozito pole saw and the same thing happened.

    • That seems to be a common issue… ʘ︵ʘ

  • Are these any good? I ordered the B&D but still time to cancel for this one.

good enough to cut down a decent size tree in my backyard, then return it for a refund. the chain did slip so make sure its tight.

Thanks OP. Now this makes chopping branches off council trees for heating more efficient.

Do chainsaws make good home defence weapons?

    • Only during the Zombie Apocalypse

    • +2

They are good self harm weapons. Don't cheap out on safety gear.

came here to post a deal on the duel 4ah battery and charger for $99 https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-2-x-4-0ah-batterie… but ill just leave it here

    • Link worked 5 minutes ago but now hit a snag, plenty of stock on nrby though, good deal. Too bad it's not the 3x batteries for $100 like earlier this year

hmm, thats weird, I took a screen shot since I still had a tab open

        • Bummer, I would have bought that.

    • Link works for me

price is decent but note that this is a mini 25cm chainsaw - at this size far better off getting a similar size POLEsaw for a little bit more coin - far more versatile around the home

    • Couldn't agree more. Too bad Ozito doesn't seem to do a pole saw kit, skin only is $200, and the Ryobi pole saw kit is more than double this at $299. Will just have to keep looking for a pole saw deal..

The Ozito pole saw struggles to cut anything other than thin branches. I had a loan of one and my arm was sore pretty quick.

        • Thanks for the insight @gadget, striking that off the list.

The ultimate would be the EGO multi-tool with the pole saw attachment. That looks well balance and would have decent power. Can't justify almost 10x the cost of this for the occasional pruning though…

@jordn: I have both this chainsaw and the pole saw. Totally different uses in my opinion as the chainsaw whilst small is still quite a bit bigger. I've tackled decent sized logs with it just being patient. Pole saw i only use when necessary, its top heavy and therefor a bit annoying to use, and cannot tackle anything nearly as big as the little chainsaw. All that said, i want the bigger ozito chainsaw now!

            • @Xizor: Thanks @Xizor, great tips! Definitely on the hunt for a good, balanced pole saw deal for those hard to reach branches, but this looks like it'll do most things for now

            • @Xizor: Yes the bigger 2 x 18v battery version is a much better saw. Does not lose power in 12"+ logs & is what I would call a good "all rounder"

    • +1

yea no deals to be had that I can find, been looking for one for a while

  • Jesus that's a great deal — I bought a replacement Ryobi 12" bar & chain, it alone was $73

  • This is ok for pruning only.

    • Will it kill a zombie?

      • You definitely want the 36V Version for that.

  • Anyone else having a problem with ordering online? My payment gets processed and then I immediately get a cancellation email. Same thing happened a few weeks ago and I had to call my bank because the charge was still pending after a month.

  • I'm not sure if this tool will be effective for anything but the most basic of cutting. A 10" bar length is tiny and a 4Ah battery on a chainsaw is severely undercooked.

I know chainsaws are not for everyone but after you've tried a Stihl 36V, you'll see them in a very different way. It's like a light sabre.

I've had this for at least 2 years now. It's better than i expected it to be. It'll cut through a few inches with ease. Can tackle much bigger if you are a little patient, its not as fast or brute power as a petrol chainsaw but it'll get there. I've cut dozens of logs with it, some bigger than the bar so i had to spin the log around to be able to get through it. I keep meaning to buy its bigger brother so i dont abuse it so much. One day.

Fine for light to medium duty work, and battery has never run out on me, but have plenty of spares if it does.

  • Are there any mini chainsaws that don't require regular oil for the chain? Eg. If you had a 2hr job of cutting small and medium branches, would it be OK if you didn't put any oil on the chain? Or is that dangerous?

  • +3

FWIW I have one if these and I think it is great. It cuts though anything* quite easily, and so convenient being battery, just starts instanstly every time, unlike the previous two-stroke one i had. Pretty sure i only paid $99 for it, possibly 5 years ago though.

*yukkas, large braches, even smaller trees. Wouldnt be ideal for a farm or anything like that.

  • Ive tried 2 Ozito chainsaws and found the both just leak the oil out over time sitting on the bench. Perform fine otherwise for basic duties

    • +2

Chain oil almost certainly leaks out of most chainsaws. More so when it’s not frequently used and just sitting there

Best way is to empty the oil back into a seperate container for storage

      • Is that right, i didnt know that, ill give that a crack next time I fire her up. Thanks for the tip 👍

  • deal for hedge trimmer please.

  • Good find Op. I look forward to the daybwhen they'll finally make a chainsaw massacre movie with an electric ozito chainsaw.
