How does this compare to the ryobi that was recently also posted?
The Ryobi one has interchangeable battery while this one seems to have a built-in. So if you already have few Ryobis around the house, this one make less sense.
Biggest feature difference looks to be that this one has pressure preselection with auto-stop.
The Amazon page says its not suitable for blowing up things like kids inflatable swimming pools. Not sure if the Ryobi would be better or not. Trying to decide myself.
If someone knows whether the Ryobi is far more powerful or longer lasting please let us know.
One annoying thing about this unit is that you can't use any USB-C to USB-C cable to charge this, it has to be a USB-A to USB-C. Good unit otherwise.
How does that work? Never heard of this issue before with any device
This is because Bosch didn't implement USB C properly. They just slapped a USB C port on the device and called it a day.
In detail - USB A ports always have 5V power, but USB type-C ports don't- they only present power when they detect the presence of two 5.1k resistors (called Rd in the spec) which cost literally cents. They figured "Meh, works with the cable it comes with"
I have this issue with several devices, getting used to it now.
Oh dang, didn’t know I needed one.
Taking it easy on this one before impulse.Enough battery power for 4 car tyres?
For say 3-5psi?Yes enough for 4 tyres… I did it last weekend
Haven't tried 4, but unlikely.
If you do end up buying it, highly advise getting an adapter for it as the stock head releases a lot of air when unscrewing.
Goes under a lot of names ie. "Tyre pump head", "Inflator adaptor", "Air Chuck" etc. As long as it has a schrader end to screw into.Edit. nvm someone has tried
Air leak when unscrewing is miniscule for car tyres but significant for cycle tyres.
So I am using this adapter.

Looks good although I wish the air hose was longer
This or The Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor? Any suggestions?
Want to know as well
I have the Baseus Digital Car Tyre Inflator . So I can't justify buying this one now. Ebay for $40ish.
Dumb question but can you use this to blow dry a car after snow foaming?
Use your leaf blower for this.
Thanks
Perish the thought - microfibre drying towels, or you'll leave water marks >.<
Haha thanks, any accessible microfibre towels for those with back problems?
Not trying to be smartarse, but what exactly is an accessible microfibre towel? I'm thinking one that is one an upper shelf and not a lower one. And you'd still need to bend down to dry the lower parts of the car.
@NoApostrophePlurals: Yeah I think I'll have to get a mop to reach the top and lower parts or my teenage son to do it!
@xdigger: I get my son to wash one of our cars, I've thrown out several microfibre towels and glass cloths doing follow up 'cause he never gets the oil residue off and once it gets into the cloths you can never get them back. I still get him to wash it, but after he goes inside I do it again ;-)
@xdigger: Don't use a mop! The trapped dirt in the fibres will introduce micro scratches into your paintwork. If it's just a regular daily car, no big deal, but may as well utilise the teenager. They've cost you enough already! Haha
Ideally you want a large, waffle-weave… These are very good: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00BQYCIVI
@TrevorX: Or the kmart ones.
Depends on your budget.
Or the Big Green Sucker.@lordra: Yeah I avoid the cheaper towels, I've never found one that didn't leave tiny traces of lint, particularly on glass. Each to their own of course, I'm just a bit too OCD to be willing to put up with it, so don't mind spending a bit more on quality cloths.
@lordra: Thanks, looks cheap, hopefully good.
Nah mate, the volume of air is toooo too small. You'd be better off using a hair dryer!
Saying this, even with a leaf blower, the water is pretty sticky and hard to get rid off, on naked paint. If it has a hydrophobic layer, the water comes off beautifully.
Also, you risk scratching the paint if you're clumsy with the leaf blower cos you'll just bump the long plastic nozzle onto the paint. You can try it, but keep plenty of space around the vehicle. Some car wash bays are really narrow.
No, as it's just a compressor, no blower function.
Bought one of these last deal and it's been awesome! Car tyres, bike tyres, sporting equipment, trailer tyres - even for just piece of mind tyres are at correct pressure we towing/camping etc.
Hi, this is probably irrelavant but how good are this for inflating air mattress for camping as i want to get something that works on both
Not suitable. Air mattresses need high volume air flow. Nothing on the market that does both.
The 18V version should do both. Just not fast, but faster than using a manual pump or mouth
thankg guys!
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-inflator-… does both, if you already have batteries in the ozito ecosystem
I'm looking for a ball pump that has a pressure gauge. Any recommendations?
Er, this very item 🤷🏼♂️
This one is great for basketballs and comes with the needle and pressure
Can anyone confirm if this unit can inflates 4 tyres from 18 psi to about 40 psi?
We drop our tyres down to 18 ish psi for off road/beach. This unit might be handy to re-inflate once we are back on the road
I think that would be too much for it.
It is only good for topping up 4 car tyres 5 to 10 psi each before it exhausts its tiny battery.
And the battery is not swappable. If the USB on it is so dumb, perhaps it can pump while plugged to a powerbank?
That would be madness, a basic car-lighter-powered pump is like half this price.
Don't buy a battery unit unless you need to run it away from your car…
I have one of these takes about 5 minutes to do one tyre handy to have though
From fully flat?
Probably a bit longer from fully flat, seems to slow down the higher the psi though
I have an easy pump about once a day as a matter of fact
Bought one ages ago best thing ive had in glovebox owning acreage
