  • Was trying to purchase this .. then I saw this msg "You last purchased this item on 1 Sep, 2022 :).. AUD22.90,,, may be due to inflation :)

You know you have a Ozbargain addiction, when you go to purchase an item and Amazon tells you that you last purchased it a month ago. But you had totally forgot. Then found it with a stack of other items you have purchased but never used…

Nice deal. But I already have a couple in the cupboard ;-)

Bought one of these and discovered it adds high latency to connected devices, so don't buy this to use for game streaming (ie. Steam Link or NVIDIA game streaming).

    • How many ms on average does it add to your ping?

      • I haven't tested it with a computer - I just know that my steam link wasn't able to maintain a stable connection due to latency while this switch was in place.

        • That's weird, I have a computer connected to a PS5 through 2 of these (one in the loungeroom and one in the office) and it remote plays just fine with no noticeable latency. I haven't tried streaming Steam back to the TV though

          • @Zythyx: It might be my setup, to be honest. All I know is without this switch my remote play works fine to the TV, and with it I get all sorts of errors on the steam link and can't stream from Steam on my PC. It could also be the Steam Link device itself that has some issues, I haven't done any further testing since I managed to get everything working.

        • No switch should add anywhere near that much latency. Something is broken.

Really? Is this not an unmanaged switch? I thought these kinds of devices didn't add any latency. How did you confirm this?

      • Yep, it's unmanaged. I tested a Steam Link with and without this device, and discovered that it was virtually unusable due to latency only while connected to the unmanaged switch.

    • Oh wow, I've been using this for awhile and no problem streaming plex and ps5 connection been stable, all wired connection. Haven't been using 4k streaming.

      • I imagine game streaming is on another level to ps5 multiplayer latency, but I could be wrong! This won't affect stuff like Plex which doesn't require low latency to perform well.

  • Can anyone confirm if it lags while gaming ?

  • I have this, did not experience any added latency when gaming. steady about 20ms wired -> unmanaged switch -> router

    • Guess I'll have to recheck my setup. :) Thanks for the feedback.

  • Cheers got one thanks

  • Was OOS yesterday when I wanted to get it.
