lul wut? Another msrp deal. This card is a better brand and $22 cheaper

      8gb not 12gb

Fair enough. The 8GB GDDR6X is actually better than the 12GB GDDR6. But I can't keep up with how many models nvidia have rereleased. If the white dual is 8GB non X then it would be a lower card.

Price still seems meh and rather laughable. Slower than the $350 6600xt I bought a year ago.

Not when it's limited to 128bit bus compared to 192…

@AreYouAWiiizard: But you're also discounting the fact it's not a zotac and it's white! It's at least a $50+ difference between zotac and non white themed asus dual cards. It's $22 cheaper. Your argument is a 12cyl Daewoo is better than an 8cyl Corolla. Even ventus/eagle are above zotac.

The 3060 can only do 1080p anyway. People are arguing a 128 bit/32mb 6600xt is fine for 1440p. FYI 1440p pushes 78% more pixels.

Ultimately I'd argue both are a shit price. Especially considering I got a faster card for $350 new a year ago. But I'd argue my link is a better or similar deal. Especially since it's white/rog crap.

@Jimmy77: AMD's infinity cache is WAY ahead of Nvidia's 3000 series caches in helping run on lower bit busses. Hell, not even the 4000 series looks to have enough for their bit busses… So don't think you can really compare… Either way I feel like it's pointless even considering the 3060 when you can spend a little extra and get a 6700XT for $489 (that's what I did once Starfield promo launched) or drop down to a 6650 XT/$400 7600 and get Starfield with it…

              • @AreYouAWiiizard:

                6700XT for $489

Thumbs UP! - What I'd go for, for a semi-budget build.

            • @Jimmy77: Don't be blinded by the RTX 3060's 12GB memory, Nvidia's RTX 3060 Ti is still the better buy

So while we're looking at 8GB of GDDR6 on the RTX 3060 Ti, a slight reduction on that found on the RTX 3060 12GB, the greater bandwidth of the Ti card means the memory is more widely available to the GPU in operation.

The two cards offer vastly different performance as a result, too. In our testing, at 1440p, we're seeing the RTX 3060 Ti delivering 35 percent higher frame rates on average.

I just look at reviews, benchmarks and performance metrics for brands - some are better in different model categories. People pay for colo(u)r. Always under the impression after reading posts and articles that games need more GPU memory and 10GB was the norm, but its the bandwidth thats important, tie it in with cost.

Ultimately I'd argue both are a shit price.

              They are.

Slower than the $350 6600xt I bought a year ago.

3600 Ti still beats that according to https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

            https://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=zotac+3060…

Their msrp is similar and they are also similar "deals". My point is the original post is more or less msrp.

            • +1

@Jimmy77: Way off, the 3060 8GB is a lot slower in newer titles due to the lower bit bus, can't remember exactly but think it was around 15% slower but even if you ignore the FPS, some newer games will just choke the card completely with stutters even at 1080p whereas the 12GB version wouldn't have any of those issues.
Also it completely destroys one of the reasons to even consider getting it over the AMD cards, OP's use-case of Stable-defusion/AI stuff.

    • +2

that's an 8G version, some would call that 3050 Ti rather, this post is 12G, about 30% difference there

    • +2

Tsk tsk, you are losing your touch Jimmy

Only natural that as GPU prices get better, your powers of outrage decline

      • +5

lol this is even more expensive than before prices apparently fell. Jimmy doesn't bow to this tribalism.

People have been waiting for 3060 to come down from like $450 to $350 for over a year. Until then same shit. $30-$40 off is bait for suckers (would've rather paid $40 more 1 year back when it wasn't old).

$420 for a zotac/inno3d budget tier 3060 non ti. Then add the fact it's last gen. Polish away!

        • +4

Not sure why you are being negged these prices are absolutely garbage

  • Where are all the 3060Ti 12GB model bargains? I don't want 8GB!

    • Did they ever come on 12 gb variant ? The 3060ti

      • Don't believe so, but they should of. I was dreaming :\

        • Hahaha awesome yeah me too would have got that

          • @davenpru: It's nVidias way of controlling how much value you get and that they'll want you to buy next model up
