For double and a little more get the GOTY edition, amazing soundtrack (YES BIGGEST HIGHLIGHT) and an amazing DLC -The Last Autumn
It's a great game, but I feel it's often not described well - realistically it's a puzzle game. You don't really have too much flexibility in terms of how to play. If you make the wrong choices, you lose =P it's definitely less "simulation" where you have a range of playstyles/choices.
Depends on the difficulty level, but definitely pausing + higher difficulties turns it into a game of figuring out best ROIs and optimization rather than an RTS
Still a lot of fun, and I love the atmosphere.

By far my favorite steampunk, post-apocalyptic-survival urban planning simulator.
Really? There are so many in the genre it is hard to pick the best….
I really enjoyed this game, it was quite difficult. Once I figured it out though, it was pretty easy and then I lost interest.
It was an interesting play-through, and more in common with a puzzle game as only certain strategies worked to get to the next milestone. Once you got through several hours of these it become as you said a lot easier to manage.
It's a fun game, I put 120+ hrs into it on steam before I threw it down in frustration. There is a save game bug when your saves aren't…saved. So I spent hours, got as far as I had ever gone before, bug happened and couldn't load my save. Couldn't be bothered starting again with the possibility of said bug happening again.
Yep, this game needs more auto saves. Number of times over failed, loaded the last storage and it only takes me back like 8 hours…

In all seriousness NO. I bought it for the steam deck a couple months ago and immediately returned it because the font size was unreadable and there is NO UI scaling feature..
