I hope someone can help me. Sorry I have posted in other Asus deal as well.
I have TP link vx 220 which is connected to NBN box via Ethernet cable. I have pathetic internet speed in other rooms and there is constant drop of internet connection even in the room with modem.
How can I get better speed with Asus Ax55 or Ax56 (which one is better for my case)?
I am on Superloop 1000/50 plan but hardly get over 500 even when I am standing next to Tp link.
As you mentioned you're standing next to the TP link then you are on wireless, therefore your Wi-Fi network on the router (Sending) and on the receiving device (laptop/Pc) needs to support the 1000mbps speed.
This router for example says "574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 1201 Mbps on the 5GHz band" So only on the 5GHz band will you be able to saturate the 1000mbps connection, however your Wi-Fi card on the laptop/device also needs to be able to "receive" 1000mbps or 1 gigabit. If you have multiple devices on the 5GHZ band, the 1201Mbps is shared. So two devices downloading will max 600Mbps each.
Most LAN ports are now 1000mbps/1 gigabit capable, and most Wi-Fi cards are still not yet 1000mbps / 1 gigabit.
Much benefit in upgrading to this over my existing TP Link Archer VR900? FTTP 100/20.
How does it compare to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/787077#comment-14012870?
Doesn't look like prime day has brought this any lower…
To pounce or not to pounce… That is the question… 🤔
pounce
Ok pounced!
I pounced as well, got it today. Happy as ever.
Yer that sucks considering it was under 100 a few weeks ago. It's a no from me.
Wasn't it back in April? Unless I missed it…
Thanks OP. I setup mine today and our dodgy wifi and internet dropouts have instantly disappeared and everyone is happy. Although my daughter says I’ve claimed to have fixed it heaps of times before so she doesn’t think it’s so great LOL
Hey guys,
I’ve got a D-Link DIR-890L.
Is this worth the upgrade?
Would this be an upgrade from a TP-Link Archer D9? Seems to have the same speeds
