    Dan?

    • When they do his statue at Parliament house it's our sovereign duty to put a north face jacket on there.

  • This one is Ugly but i own another NF jacket and its actually very very warm.

    • +1

I also don't like the styling of the Thermoball jackets but it's the only few from NF that are non-down. I dislike feathers going everywhere with the other jackets but they do look a lot more modern and nicer unfortunately..

  • Good deal, I wonder how the heat transfer logos hold up in the wash?

  • +2

Decent pricing, but looks like a bathroom tile wall? 😅

  • Insulation: 11 G/Ftý ThermoBall Eco 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Polyester

Post-consumer recycled polyester comes from plastic waste collected in the environment, mainly in seas and landfills. We are talking about the tons of plastic waste found in the oceans, including bottles and fishing nets, as well as waste found in landfills and in the environment.

Not sure how people feel about wearing ocean waste?

    • +4

it isn't ocean waste - it's man made waste

Not sure how people feel about wearing ocean waste?

    Have you tried asking?

Fortunately, your source is incorrect. post-consumer recycled polyester comes from the PET bottles you put into the recycling bin. Contaminated feedstock can't really be used for recycled polyester fibre.

  • Whats the heat transferring logo meant to do

    • +2

Nothing. It's just referring to the way the logo was printed on the jacket

  • Looks very thin to me. Is this equivalent to Macpac's Uber Light Down?
I want Macpac's Halo Down thickness.

    • +2

Received it yesterday, it was thin like a piece of paper.

  • Anyone has this and can vouch for it ?

  • TNF website has a similar one - https://thenorthface.com.au/product/mens-thermoball-50_50-ja…

Can someone in the know shed light on what is better value for money? $440 for a jacket feels like it should be a crime but I'm not part of the inner circle yet.

    • I have a Triclimate Thermoball - it's a thermoball inner with a zip-off windbreaker outer. The combined jacket got me comfortably through -27C in Siberia..

The thermoball inner itself was comfortable down to -10C as long as it wasn't windy.

I find it a bit of overkill in Sydney winters, and only use them on colsd nights when it dips down to about 5C. But I do normally run hot.

      • Thanks for that insight. I did look into that. Sounds like a good option if spending this kind of money
