Liquid Image HD Snow Goggles $79 for 720p or $99 for 1080p, + $10 Shipping Normally $400+

130

Ends midday tomorrow. These snow goggles have a small camera in them, 720p or 1080p options.

Got the 720p version of these, was quite impressed even in poor lighting - quality not amazing but I just picked myself up a couple of 1080p versions for that price to see how they fare.

[EDIT:] Its gone midday and still looks active. Don't know if the stock for the 1080p will last that long

[EDIT2:] Ok, seems they are still available - their end dates seem ballship. Get involved, 1080p looks like its still there.

A similar deal was posted before last time these came up on COTD: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76424

  • cant these be used for dirt biking too? Is there a reason these are snow goggles and not just goggles?

    • I didn't use my 720p ones for Snow related exercises, used mine in an indoor sports centre and was quite happy with the results. There may be a colour filter on them to counteract the intense white of the snow but I couldn't confirm.

    • I'm after a set for dirt biking aswell. I nearly bought a set last time they were up on COD but decided against it due to the fact that a GoPro/Contour setup is much more versatile, although more expensive.

Comments on the last OB sale thread found that the manufactures website actually states that "The Summit Series Goggles can be converted to a MX Goggle by changing the lense, nose guard, and strap for Xtreme Sport Action during the summer." (http://www.liquidimageco.com/products/snow/summit-series-hd-…)

Not sure if the replacement lenses, noseguard etc are included or what the additional cost is though.

      • We've use em on quads at the sand dunes and they are great.

And this makes me hate cotd more..pretty sure I paid more for these..

      • I made a comment similar to that. To answer the question, there was no nose piece included in my 720p model that I got during the last promo.

Haven't looked into sourcing the bits mysely.

    • you can pick up the 'conversion kit' (clear lenses, tear-offs & nose guard) for about $45 from an australian seller on ebay.
(or you can just get the clear lenses from overseas for about $12)

  • The anti-glare lens shield isn't it?

    • Mine came with two lenses

  • I have no understanding of this product… 720p and 1080p for goggles?!

    • +1

Appears to be goggles designed for snow activities, but with a built in front facing camera to record what you see (720p sensor, or 1080p sensor).

      • Thats exactly right, theres more detail and a video if you follow the link. I like the perspective these goggles give for the footage - really nice placement and natural viewpoint. We have started using them for capturing action footage for our Laser Tag games in Melbourne.

        • Could they be used for paintball you think or not really enough protection from a direct hit?

        • Paintball goggles these are not. Wouldn't risk it unless you can find a paintball mask lens that would fit? Plus there is no face mask so you could lose some teeth

  • Was about to post this myself! Great deal. Last time I was skiing I wished I had something like this. Getting it now so I'm prepared haha.

Yeah, I bought these yesterday during the COTD DDoS attack.

I was interested in them the first time they came up, so I did some research. They are the only goggles which have this kind of functionality which are water protected. The lense has a small fish-eye affect, but really not too noticeable. Much easier than pulling out a camera for the awesome snow shots.

Additionally, the 1080p version is SO much better than the 720. It has 5 (or 6 modes, cant remember) modes, compared to the 3 mode 720p model. The goggles also look much better with a textured pattern on them.

For $100 they are a steal, considering normal goggles, with interchangeable lenses will set you back ~$60-$80 alone. They originally were $250, which I couldn't not justify. Goes to show the markup ;p

For the Moto-X guys, you can buy the nose-clip which clips. From memory they are ~$60-70 from Amazon. Can't remember.

  • How much were the 1080p version last time? I seem to remember I baulked at the extra cost, but this time it seems like a no brainer?

    • $249 1080p, $149 for 720p.

      • Sorry I meant in the last bargain when they were $89 for the 720p version..

        • +1

there was a $60 off voucher, so $189 for the 1080p

        • +1

          249 - 60 = 189

        • Ah shame, in the time I've waited for that the black 1080p's have gone :/

        • Yep. I would have bought the 1080p ones at this price. Over twice the price seemed a bit of a jump though last time for something I won't use a lot. Ended up with the 720p model.

The black had gone when I posted this, I picked up the white ones. Will help you merge with your snowy surroundings James bond style when infiltrating secret arctic military bases. Or at least that's how I made myself feel better about the choice, damn I so wanted those black goggles.

  • Bought, Cheers.
    Only white left in 1080p

QQQ - How bout another special ozbargain code?

  • i bought one yesterday. hopefully it comes soon, i'm going to the snow in a week…

    • No chance. 2 weeks minimum I'd say.

      • i did receive mine in one week, 2 days before i flew to NZ. but mine is faulty :(

i will go back to sydney tomorrow with regrets…

      • When I got the 720p ones last time they delivered within 3 days, think I may have been lucky.

I used these for a skiing trip to queenstown. Put a 32gb micro sd in it and worked a treat.

  • Bought the 720p version last time for $89 shipped. Quite impressed, although they are fairly huge goggles and heavy.

For those people using them for indoor sports, laser tag and quad biking, I would think that they are pretty heavy and bulky??

    • Not such a problem with the size and weight however for laser tag in a dark environment the flashing led inside the lens made it hard to see at times. Could take the lens out or even cover the led with masking tape I guess.

  • my goggle bought from cotd is faulty. i brought it to new zealand, but it didnt work (it seems one button doesnt work). fortunately i also took a contour roam with me, but all the videos were recorded in one perspective.

anyone knows how to get refund from COTD? i want to return it!! too disappointed :(

  • Bought! Hopefully they come in by next Thursday.

Judging by the last time I ordered from COTD (2009), it was under a week.

  • If anyone bought the black 1080p and has buyers remorse, PM me :)

  • Taken the end date off this deal as they still appear to be available - and 1080p white is available.
