Best System for 1080p Gaming
Comments
If game uses more than 8gb dosent it just use the system mem. If you have 32gig that should be fine ?
This more than 8gb vram is a meme.
Because millions of idiots pre-purchase games it puts no pressure on devs to actually release optimised working properly games.
Massive vram requirements are because of poor optimisation at launch and normally get patched to be more efficient.
Also, the difference between ultra and high settings at 1080p cannot be appreciated by 99% of people. Ultra uses more vram.
And, just because a game allocates itself a high amount of vram does not mean it acutally uses it all. Finally, answering your question, yes it will then move onto system ram but this is slower than vram and will cause 'stutter' so not an effective solution.
What card would you recommend for 1080 . Would 4070 be future proof ? I am guessing i would need a better cpu as well looking like a 2k build
3060ti should be good for the price.

Note:
1. Stretch GPU if you can to: Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 GAMING OC 8GB instead
2. Stretch RAM if you can to: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 instead
3. You may want wifi card Fenvi WI-FI 6 Intel AX200 3000Mbps Wireless PCIe Adapterryzen 2600 ?

*Shop around if you’re going to build it yourself.
*Prebuilt: BPC / Enigma / Nebula / Techfast - they all post deals on here.Yeah ive seen those prebuilt machines but they never give models on psu mb and ram rtc im assuming they pretty low quality sub par components to get the prices. Also their communication is pretty shit. For example lukefast never responds to messages yet hes been online. Cant trust a business that operates like that.
Some of them specify the components - e.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/781089. You get a good discount from some of these builds, and you don't need to choose and shop around for components, assemble or install software.
Any 10yo computer with a 1080gpu would do the job lol
I'm running a 3060Ti. I would recommend going higher 3080 or 3090 if you can stretch it.

I don't think it will matter much for 1080p. I used to play at 1080p, now at 1440p with 3060. I also got a 3090 which isn't connected to monitors. I don't see much difference between two unless I use Ray tracing.
i wonder if you are CPU bond or GPU bond in the first place.
Why do you recommend higher for 1080 . For the xtra vram?
Video memory more than 8GB is priority 1. You can always turn down graphics settings, but if the game is gobbling up VRAM with textures it can be a deal breaker.
