Had a price watch on the various size Wera Joker spanners but wasn't activated and stumbled across this. Easily the lowest price according to Camels. Don't know how long it will last so if you're interested, be quick…

Agree, Knipex Pliers Wrench is much more versatile.
The 250mm is so versatile and the 125mm is amazing. They never let go or damage a fastener.
Even on semi hard plastic, they can be set so they don't squash the materialI mainly use them for holding a bolt when I'm torquing the nuts or dismantling plant.
But they are incredible for gripping stripped nuts, bending, squashing or straightening metal,
bending and breaking off metal thingsI think the joker strictly a space and weight saving alternative for an open end spanner but it seems like the flexible head makes it unusable as one
Have you used both?

Are you talking about the Knipex ones, or the Wera ones ?
@whyisave: Knipex pliers wrench
Yeah, I don't like the look of these very much either and would take a couple of pairs of knipex over a set of them any day. Wera are a bit overrated around here imo.
Amazon have recently started shipping Japanese tools including Lobster shifters from .jp at a much better price than they used to be. I have a couple and just recently got this little 150mm one to add to the collection ( https://www.amazon.com.au/150mm-Light-Weight-Adjustable-Wren… )
They're a decent, cheaper alternative to Knipex pliers wrenches (Knipex are too damn pricey to have backups/secondarys of for me).@Fappo: I can agree, after a few Wera purchases that they are overrated indeed.
I highly rate the knipex plier wrenches and never remove them from a bag. Shifters are not allowed for certain tasks on my job site and I can’t stand checking and adjusting jaws before use.
These self adjusting Wera spanners look like I could lighten my load of my 26-32mm spanners which weigh a ton.
Only thing holding me back, is using one to hold a bolt in a pinch when using an impact driver to tighten nuts.
Impact drivers destroy shifters and ratchets in my experience. I think it’s a ‘right tool for the job’ situation and these aren’t it unfortunately. Thanks for the reply
@PlaunsJanus: No doubt, Knipex over a shifter all day every day. The pliers wrenches are brilliant. And yeah, the weight saving of those Weras over normal spanners is a nice thought, but I'd be suss on them behind an impact driver too. Also, the head size doesn't look great for access compared to a normal spanner either.
No doubt, Knipex over a shifter all day every day.
Would you recommend this one?
https://www.amazon.com.au/KNIPEX-Pliers-Wrench-pliers-plasti…@DoctorCalculon: For sure. 250mm is reasonably large though, so it really depends what you'll use it for.
@DoctorCalculon: For bolt holding they're brilliant. But the size can make them a bit awkward in tight spots.
I had them under the sink last week and they were a bit awkward in practice. Almost awkward enough for me to go back to the shed for the right tool. Will definitely get a smaller version to supplement.
Will definitely get a smaller version to supplement.
Maybe this smaller one would have helped?
https://www.amazon.com.au/Knipex-Pliers-chrome-plated-emboss…@DoctorCalculon: Currently $47.13
I bought this back in 17 March for $58.67 from Amazon Germany. ($11.54 cheaper now)
I got this for my Adventure Bike tool kit.
They're a little small for around the house…but will get me out of trouble on the bike
We live in a society
These are nice, but be aware you'll need a bit of real estate to swing these around

I prefer the Rafa ones. They are the GOAT…
I think you might be spinning on it. You can’t needle the true GOAT — three of a kind, and superior on all surfaces
Could you provide a link or a bit more info if you have a moment
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the

It's simple. We cross-thread the Batman
Price changed now on the S
I decided to buy the four piece set. XS S M and L. Then bought the XL. The four piece set is ok but the XL has a very rough finish, so sending it back for refund. Not sure I will buy any more Wera. Quality is not what I expect for the price.
these are nice, might find the XS or 125mm plier wrench just as fast
