  • I have $10 off $50, delivery only.

  • Got it, thanks.

  • +1

I didn't get one and my partner got $20 off. Looks like it's variable and randomly targeted (we have very similar uber eats history)

  • Stackable w Citi $10 Cashback on ubereats >$30 ?

    • +1

Yes it should be as long as the final amount charged to your Citi card is above $30

    • I only see 10 off 40 for uber rides. Where do you see this?

  • +1

Been “abusing” these deals in the past. Maybe that’s why I don’t get it anymore

  • +1

I got it, good to shop at Coles who don't inflate their uber prices.

    • -1

They inflate somewhat near me. But their 30% discount section brings prices slightly below in store, if you ignore the service fee..

      • Interesting, all prices on my local Coles on uber is exactly same as instore even weekly specials are same price. But yeh service fee is another thing.

        • It might have just been some things inflated. Snacks seem to match in store price, but other things were a lot more.

      • Is there a 30% discount section on the Coles Uber store? I couldn’t see it but maybe it depends on the local store.

        • +1

It was Doordash actually that I ordered from.

  • +3

Time to get $50 of UHT milk 💪🏼

    • +2

      Milking the deal!

  • +2

20% off up to $50 liquor

  • Don’t do it… just purchased $30 worth of food. They delivered so many wrong items and then I was charged not only $30 but then $50 also… what a disaster.

    • Was it Coles ?

Did you choose to refund or replace unavailable items?

    • I went through this pain with a 50% off seafood deal at Coles. Uber Eats don't have a clue what they're doing with grocery orders in my opinion.

DoorDash are the way to go. Uber Eats have no phone number and are unaccountable.

See below what others have gone through.

Beware of thesw type of promos from UE. I have been 'scammed' afew times so I'm refusing to use ubereats now. They promised the discount But refused to honor it or compensate later on. Afew times before i made an order for delivery at a later date. The code was accepted and I was promised the discount.

But when on day itself the store do not have some item. But they either don't replace those items or cannot replace them. The promo code becomes invalid and I pay the ridiculous overpriced items without the discount. At first I did not reakize if but after I did I contacted their customer service after a stupidly long process. Their attitude was poor. Communication was only through email. And they steadfastly refused to help me with this despite me spending alot on UE this past few months.

So in the end I didn't get the discount. I paid the full prices of those grocery which are much higher than normal. Cost me much more than expected. I stopped using this rubbish promos anymore. Well I stopped using UE completely. If they are treating long time customers like me so unfairly and shoddily, I shudder to think how they treat others.

I have bwrn telling my friends and family to avoid them. Shit customer service plus dodgy deals and overpriced grocery.

    • +3

Literally had something like this happen to me 2 days ago, got a $20 off $50 spend from a grocery store, order total $36 with the discount, I was billed $66. I've pretty much just switched to using doordash. They have honestly pretty decent customer service like actually being able to talk to a human is nice, and they generally fix stuff quick. I wanted help with my uber eats order and the order took 2 days to appear in my order history and then there was no option to even speak to anything but their robot. So I guess they just stole from me.

      • +4

I don't usually advise it but do a card chargeback, uber is such a scummy company don't let them get away with this.

        • I feel like if you had a screenshot of the transaction saying $36 and they've charged you more, your case would be pretty strong.

      • +2

This is exactly what happened to me as well. Charged $32 the first time then some items were out of stock, choose to replace them and got $65 charge without discount in the end.

I contacted UE via their app as I couldn't find any contact number, and turned out they are pretty hopeless and respond like robots. Kept saying the same thing which was really annoying.

        • +1

Sounds like my experience too. Ive given up on them. All that standard fake polite robotic responses made me even more pissed off. All they are trying to say in reality is, tough luck. Screw you.

      • Yep. I lost alot more than I could have potentially saved. I didn't even know this had happened before. I ordered so many time from these promos they sent me.

Not until 3rd or 4th time then i noticed the 'scam' cuz the code always applied initially when I made the order. It was only after the delivery was made and final bill came out I realized I have been the paying full amount plus additional service fee.

      • Exactly. It's a daylight robbery. Ironically i used them alot after I moved apartment, in the last few months I ordered UE delivery weekly sometimes almost daily. I thought I was their loyal customer and they still refused to help with this. So now I completely switched to menulog and door dash. Not gonna spend a single cent more on UE.

Sorry for the ranting. The insult from them is still fresh in my mind.

    • If you choose to refund items not “replace with similar item” would that still invalidates the promo ?

      • Yes. I tried both options before. Both times when some items were out of stock, the code ended up being invalid and I paid full amount plus extra service fee. Customer service refused to be helpful.

  • +4

So I got an out of stock item and my discount got removed and total went from $25 to $53 wtf is that lol… Wonder what happens next this is a virtual card so luckily I only put in $25 enough for the order.

Edit: I now have a $53 overdue balance on uber app, what a mess of a promotion. Not using Ubereats ever again.

    • I think something messed up with your ordered.for me it deducted right amount after a refund .

Is your transaction still pending or completed?

      • It is pending still…

    • Who do you use for the virtual cards?

      • +1

        Revolut

    • Ditto, i have 49$ overdue on my account due to an item being out of stock. The customer service is useless.

Dont know what to do next, pay it or ignore it.

  • +4

I was offered replacement of coconut milk with oat milk by Coles, which is unlikely to be acceptable. The total went from $31 to $58 as a result of losing $20 promo and paying for delivery! It was useless contacting support. UberEats has really gone downhill for grocery orders.

    • +1

Their offer of replacement is quite funny, they offer 180gms flavoured yoghurt for 1kg plain Greek yoghurt

      • Probably the mass sackings at Uber are now having an impact.

  • I found Coles is best to order without inflated prices

They also have weekly specials same price as Catalogue. They usually give alternative options for non available items , so simply seek refund . 20$ voucher is still works if ordered totals become below 50$ after refund

    • +1

UberEats support insisted that the $20 voucher and free delivery both require final order totals above $50. The fact that a refund was to blame for falling below $50 was entirely ignored now. This policy seems recent as my grocery orders a few months ago were fine with out of stock refunds.

      • +1

My experience using this promotion just now suggests that exl662 is right on this.
My order was ~$32 after the discount. One item was not purchased (and no alternative given) giving a total of $47. So I've been charged $47. Seems BS to me. Do I have any recourse here? It doesn't fit any of the categories to even chat/talk to someone…

        • +4

i tried talking to support they basically said they are not going to do anything about it. last time I use this company.

          • @zruins: Complete stupidity by Uber. They are spending millions on celebrities and ads to drive in new customers and then they treat their existing customers like this. The venture capital train probably means that don't care about burning money and burning loyalty but it's sad when you don't get what's expected

            • @arcticmonkey: I made another order using a similar discount to test whether this would happen again and screen shotted everything, my driver even got my order wrong i provided a bunch of screenshots and pictures of the wrong item and they are not even bothering to respond after asking for proof and keep marking the issue as solved. Basically just stealing from me. I provided the image showing the discount being given on the home screen in uber eats and my order with the discount being applied.

              • +1

@zruins: I recommend tweeting and making a public post to the supermarket involved on their Facebook and Twitter. I got Coles involved. Uber are putting the partners brand at risk in my view by not offering phone support and resolving issues.

        • Update to this:
After a complaint about the breach of purchase contract, Uber refunded the difference (~$15) but not the full $30.

    • Sorry I just checked again , I was lucky my order was 46$ with free delivery after refunds however they charged service fee which just got me over the line of 50$ .

Really stupid of uber eats to not applying credit , Coles seriously have really good opportunity here with uber eats delivery, but they are incredibly messing it up

I did one more order since delivery fee was 4.99 couple of days ago, they messed up essential like milks , eggs and bread.

  • Could you use paypal and then switch of automatic payments immediately after to prevent them deducting any further funds?

  • Got the $20 off min $50 on groceries

    • But ordered a bit more as if stock is out of stock and store refunds they are not applying credit if order total goes below 50

  • Ordered $60.4 value groceries from coles
    Uber Easts $20 off $ 50 spend
Paid $30.4 throught CBA and also got eligible for $20 off $30 spend.
At the end $60.4 worth of grofor $10.4.
    Great bargain.

    • Are you sure they stack? The Uber eats charge should say Uber eats and not Coles.

      • +1

Ohh my comment may not clear.
$20 off $30 spend from CBA is for Uber Eats.

        • oh that's a great deal then haha

  • I made an order of $60 and one $20 item was out of stock. The final charge was $10 ($40-$30) even though the total of order was <$50. YMMV

    • yep this was my exp too some time ago but looks like we could get stung if unlucky.

  • Lol damn i got scammed too

    $40 nappies, $10 baby wipes
    $26

Nope nappies out of stock. $17 for baby wipes delivered.
Time for the hell that is Uber support to see if I can achieve anything (doubtful).

  • Wife's account had the $30 off $50 spend. Ran the gauntlet with an order bang on $50 despite the tales of woe above. Luckily I checked on the order as I had a message from the driver saying my requested yoghurt wasn't available, did I want a different flavour. Said yes, knowing the grief that would be caused of it dropped me below $50. They were already at checkout then, so made sure to throw in a few pleases to see if they could go back and get it. Thankfully they did so it was all good.

He also bought something slightly wrong which cost $1.50 more; I complained to uber eats with a photo and they refunded $2.14. Somehow I was lucky and came out slightly ahead.

  • Ordered just above $50. One item ($10) missing.
    (50-10) + service fee 4 - discount 30 = roughly $14 paid for bunch of items.

  • +1

Can anyone provide me with a acreenshot of the deal please? It was applied to my order when I placed it but when they charged me it didn't go through and got charged the full amount.

    • Still need one?

    • This happened to me too. Any resolution for you yet?

      • Nope, they are giving me the run around.

        • Same here. :(

        • +1

After a bunch of messages over a couple of days because they are slow and them saying no multiple times I told them I’d be contacting consumer affairs and that they need to escalate it to someone else and finally they say they will refund $30. Almost not worth the hassle but you can try give that a go if bothered.

  • +1

The promotion was applied and the total was around $25 but then later the charge on my bank account was the full $65ish. I didn’t do anything wrong, this also happened to a family member where the initial promotional bank charge disappeared and was replaced with a full charge.

  • +2

    Asolutley useless.

I ordered over $50 for the $30 off promo.
The driver didnt contact me about substituations so I was charged way more than what I was quoted.
The promotion has disapeared from my account even thought it was not actually applied to the order.

Uber just told me "You didnt meet the minimum for the promo" AFTER telling me they didnt know what promo I was talking about.

I was charged about $60 for $43 worth of items I would not have actually bought if the promo didnt exsist.

    • +1

The same thing happened to me. Very unimpressive and won't be using them to order groceries again!!

    • +1

And same for me too, the only reason I placed the order was for the promotion but Gavin from "support" refuses to support.

      • I wonder if this falls under 'flase advertising' or some form of deceptive and misleading conduct under tge Australian Consumer Law. Would love to see Uber getting penalised for such dodgy behaviours.

    • Do a charge back through your bank, the absolute audacity of these fckers to outright scam people like this

    • I got refunds from Ubereats today on two transactions where the promo didnt apply… I wonder if the same happens to anyone else.

  • +2

Dont do it!!!! Something is very wrong with their system, i was charged $66 on a $40 order and had to fight tooth and nail for a refund, they kept saying the total was adjusted higher because the items in store were actually higher than in the app, but i have the coles reciept and that was a complete lie they are actually lower in store. The only way i got a refund was by going full karen and calling them several times and kept starting new chats for hours until they paid me to go away. HEED THIS WARNING!!!

  • How can I contact Uber Eats about this promotion vanishing? It was in my account yesterday but today is missing.

  • why are the uber bags green?

  • +2

Ugh I had this promo and was going to use it towards the end of the month, and now I don’t have it????

    • Same I just checked as well :(

  • Here's how I got refunded $30 overcharge within 24 hours
I didn't go through normal help with past order as they make it impossible (didn't have screenshots or promo code)
In Uber Eats app go -> Account -> Uber One -> Manage Membership -> Learn more -> My Uber One benefit didn't apply -> Uber One membership Perk. Then I explained that the promo was showing when I placed the order and pre authorisation was taken, then when the items were delivered and the final amount was calculated, the promo was missing. They then refunded me without any communication. (PayPal refund email received and Uber updated recipt email received)

Edit: I did recieve communication from UE who apologised and advised of the refund. It was in my junk folder
