God damn the vouchers are so trash now

    • +41

      I remember when 2 Whoppers were $5.99.

      • +3

        Best times

      • +7

I remember when they were $5 and the staff didn’t even use to ask for the voucher. Circa 2003.

        • +4

I visited HJ's drive through last Friday and told them I had a voucher for 2 Whopper Jnr meals and they didn't even ask to see it.

        • +1

around 2000 I went in with 2 for 1 vouchers and ordered 16 whoppers…will never forget staff on microphone going "sixteen whoppers, repeat, six-teen whoppers"…

      • +7

I remember when I could buy a week's worth of food for 'two and sixpence'.

        Time rolls on I guess.

        • +11

I remember when women were born already with a vagina.

      • Even 2 for $8 is all they're worth.
Every also wouldn't swap for rebel last time only the other one, perhaps as they are coming out with a new plant based burger. Also noticed frugal feeds vouchers are gone/updated.

      • I remember when a Whopper cost $3.20 and the voucher for 2 Whoppers was $3.40. If you asked to make your own burger and just said everything that was on a Whopper it came to $1.60 however I had the manager tell me a couple of times they wont do that.

        • You must be very very old

      • Got a whopper with cheese for $4.50 yesterday and it felt like a bargain

        • Used to be 2 for $4

    • +40

The quality of their burgers went down
The size of their burgers went down
The price of their burgers went up
In Australia it isn't a cheap meal anymore its overpriced slop

I remember "it takes two hands to handle a whopper"

      • +8

its not even slop … the last burger I had 2 weeks ago felt like I was chewing on rubber thongs …. absolutely sh_t

        • +3

Made the mistake of getting a double cheeseburger meal last week and yeah. rubber thongs are accurate.
          Dry as hell.

          • @theguyrules: Thats why we're paying more for the quality lol (sarcasm) the food has really gone to s"it.

        • +4

I'm sorry you did chew rubber thongs before

          • +1

@MINKx: a bit of bbq sauce and you wouldn't even tell the difference

      • +5

Agree with everything- except the slop part. I could never stay mad at large double whopper with cheese meal - no matter how much the lettuce was not fresh, the meat cold, and whole thing slapped together by a blind basket baller trying to score three pointer with the tomato sauces and pickles and top bread from back of kitchen

      • Yea they are quite literally making maccas look like a gourmet burger…

        • Are you sure you've eaten a gourmet burger? ;)
It's not as though Maccas is cheap anymore. They have all increased a lot over the last 10 years. Such is life, we have a lot of options now that are far better :)

          • @SimAus007: Macca's is still crappy but i do feel its literally that much of a gap between them.. HJ is just shocker. Yea loads of better options for similar pricing or similarish

      • The last whopper I got I had to open it to make sure it actually had anything in it, it just looked like 2 buns with nothing, but there was a little bit of everything it was meant to have, that was 3 years ago, haven't been back.

        • in my last bacon deluxe burger they put a dollop of sauce no bigger than a 20 cent piece and about 3 or 4 shreds of lettuce … that's just dumb

    • +3

I remember when I used to walk 5 miles to school and it was uphill both ways.

    • Just checked the app deals and they are terrible now too

  • +9

OMG $5 for turkish breaky and hash,

bring back the $3.95 bacon egg muffin, hash brown and small coffee.

    Less-for-more-flation :(

    • +1

      Used to be $3

      • So did your ..

    • +2

This deal made me very fat.

I got a warning for erotic or adult imagery. Is the whopper in a compromising position?

    • Obviously.

      • +2

Nah, it's the 'hungry for a better job?' quote

        • of course the erotic imagery is spreading ones' cheeks for Hungry Jacks… month after month

    • +1

Not Whopper, but the word "Large"

    • Ha! AI strikes again!

    • "I got a warning for erotic or adult imagery. Is the whopper in a compromising position?"
      it's naked
      .

    • It's one of those rebel whoppers

    • +4

I got a warning for erotic or adult imagery. Is the whopper in a compromising position?

Probably more that Hungry Jacks are continually trying to f**k us on price.

    • The Whopper has been compromised, i repeat, The Whopper has been compromised.

      • meal team six going dark

  • +11

    Vouchers back for WA baby.

Come on HJs, don't be pricks to Tassie.

    • This was what I was trying to check but my eyesight is not Superman level.

      • +1

Yeah I these vouchers delivered to my home yesterday. I'm in WA.

        • +2

Its very strange that they decided to exclude then re-instate in such a short time.

          • +1

@tsunamisurfer: Some exclude WA & TAS - ie Turkish Brekky Roll and the Toasties, rest seem only to exclude TAS

    • That's my question too… Why HJ excludes TAS?
Well, will dine at local burger shops then..

      • +6

Dunno. They excluded WA a couple of months back so I stopped going there. Their app sucks. The deals are trash compared to the vouchers. I guess the downturn in business prompted them to re-instate WA? Hopefully they do the same for Tassie.

        • +1

Yep, I didn't buy from them since they excluded WA….. now that they are back, I MIGHT go, but damn, pricing ain't cheap anymore….. $4.95 for "Large" Onion Rings" WTH???!!!

  • Im still getting a free medium coffee on the app which i can use unlimited times 😀

    • Mine expired a few days ago rip, one of the best fast food deals ever surely. Manager at my local started to get pissed that I kept getting it haha.

Have a couple of the buy 4 get 1 free coffees to use now as those free medium coffees were counting, used one today - FYI a large is free, just need to add something else $1+ to cart, $1 bbq cheeseburger on shake n win worked.

      • Yeah someone negged my comment, not sure why just check your account and see if its there

        • Expiry was 23 June on all my accounts that had it.

    • They nerfed this a while ago, but now I see they've opened it back up I will try again.

    😲

Not sure I want to see a pic of a whopper now…

    • How about the vegan whopper?

      • Due to the soy vegans get limpets instead of whoppers.

        • Clearly haven't tried the rebel..
All expensive junk food anyway but less bad.

  • +7

This even considered a deal at this point? Nothing on there is worth the price, given quality and quantity..

    • +2

Perhaps not but the Hungry Jack's index is a valuable tool for looking at the inflation of prices over time and reminiscing on days yonder of fatter bellies and fatter wallets

  • +40

    2x Whoppers = $12!

As a voucher?!?! HJ can get stuffed…. zero value in these anymore, just advertising. Not even close to a deal.

    • +3

if it's not a deal, then try ordering Ala Carte and see what that totals up to.

may be a bad deal, but it definitely is one.

    • Look like we need more interest rate rises?

    • +1

I’ll just stick to banking on Collingwood winning and getting a 2-4-1 at Grill’d. Much better value. Yikes for the new pricing for the Whopper.

    • I checked the app the other day and they wanted over $9 for a whopper…

  • +1

Another price rise, RBA will Jack up the IR again because of HJ!

    • +1

I mean, there is a simple solution, stop buying them. Inflation only goes up if people spend money. It’s the entire point of interest rate rises.

      • +2

Fine line between price gouging and calling it inflation!

        • I mean, there is a simple solution, stop buying them.

          • @PainToad: Dominos business in the ditch as many ppl stop buying their crap after multiple price hike, but they still charging crappy prices as usual.

      • there is a simple solution, stop buying them.

According to ABS, the weight contribution of discretionary spending for food and non-alcoholic bev is 9.0. You think by stopping consumption of one particular good ie. HJ burgers will make a dent on CPI?

  • very pricy discounts

btw I could not shake a freebie anything else but only soft serve cone from app lately. anyone have different experience?

    • Last week was offering nuggets and burger shakes. Only wanted a drink or soft serve.

    • Still get free hash browns

    • did it everyday for the past 2 weeks (with retrys) and i've literally not gotten a single freebie. ridiculous honestly

    • Very occasionally the soft serve cone.
All I get are processed chicken, Oreo soft serve and vegan whopper deals
Bring back the free soft drinks and slushies!!!!
New app deals are rubbish now too.

    • +1

So the free brekky roll still exists, just shook one today

  • +3

Can you use the vouchers without getting out of your car? Asking for a rotund friend

    • Yes, you can use them in the drive-thru

    • +1

Had to look up rotund - good word.

      • Made me look thanks

  • +2

How do you use these vouchers? What's the process?

    • +2

Tell them what you want and mention that you have a voucher either in the drive-thru or in the store. They may want to see the voucher. You are fine to show them on your phone.

  • +5

    Excludes TAS

    Is Tasmanian Jack not hungry?

  • +3

How can we redeem these vouchers?

There isn't a code or something. Do we need the hard copy of the vouchers? If yes, where can we get one.

    • +4

Can't believe no one has said it yet, guess everyone has moved on from posting this to talk about pricing jacking in these deals

      Phone is fine

      • +1

        Thank you

      • +1

Google has a different interpretation of Phone is fine
