How does this rate against the first story wise? Performance issues aside
There's a good plot twist I saw coming pretty early. I would say the story is decent. Not as good as the first.

With great sadness I had to downvote you. I used to love SW. All I wanted was a Modern OG BF2.
I enjoyed the previous Jedi game, nice linear single player. Would have liked a handful more open world RPG elements, i.e. a bit of loot and character equipment upgrades. However, the ending of the story was really deflating, like you're midway through a roller coaster building momentum and then it just… comes to a stop and the ride is over and you didn't get to do the loop de loop
The game itself was good, story was good but worse than original. I recently finished on PS5. The performance was frustrating, nothing game breaking, its just there is so much micro stuttering, it just doesn't run very smooth and takes you out of the experience a little. There is something off about it. 30fps is god awful so avoid that. Game was also a lot longer than I expected, I tried to stick only to story and not many side missions and it still took me over 30 hours.
Apparently not rated well compared to the first… just finished fallen order yesterday.
Because of performance, but mostly fixed now with the latest update.
Interesting, my cousin mentioned the story was lack luster compared to previous title however everyone has their own opinion.
I stopped playing the game because the frame rate issues were annoying me. I just fired it up again for a look and the latest patch is an improvement, but still not great even with VRR — which means it's still dropping below 48fps in performance mode.
What graphics card do you have?
Did respawns gave you some kind of exlcusive patch that fixes the game while everybody else is still suffering for performance issue then.
Gameplay / Quality of life improvements are way better than the first though. That alone is worth playing.
I enjoyed it way more. They fixed a lot of QOL stuff that was terrible in the first (slow load times, back tracking/retracing). Story probably better in the first but I found the overall experience much less frustrating than the first.

I thought this one trumped the first in terms of story and combat. Just lots of quality of life updates.
They have recently patched some of the bigger bugs as well, so it's a good time to jump in if you've been reading about how buggy it is.
Performance is meh, but I still had a really good time with it and played to 100%

Anecdotal, at best. Mine's been running perfectly as on my PS5 - not a performance issue in sight. What issues are you running into?
Severe frame drops in ‘performance mode’ which is supposed to have less fidelity but locked to 60fps - lol it easily drops to 40 if not 30fps.
Most people on the interwebs agree the best way to play it is in quality mode - locked at 30fps but I want to play the game how I want to play it (at 60fps)
Agree it’s anecdotal but my experiences seem to match what a majority of the opinions online seem to be saying.
Resolution is really low on both modes. I'm waiting for more performance updates before buying.
@brokeneither: Their last patch didn't really include performance fixes.. I reckon EA might have jumped the ship/shifted resources already. Which is sad since the game itself is brilliant.
Wow, that sucks! Sorry to hear you've had such a sh!t experience. I've had mine running on performance mode @ 60FPS on my 65" C1 OLED and it hasn't skipped a beat. I also bought a brand new 8K HDMI cable too, so I don't know if that's helping, but I've yet to have any issues. In saying that, I also started playing it about a 5 or so weeks after release, which means it was very heavily patched by then. So I definitely didn't experience any day 1 issues.

Finished the first one but can’t get myself to buy and play this. Waiting for Starfield.
Runs like a dream on my i7-13700K with RTX 3080 Ti. Max Ultra with Ray Tracing and no upscaling still over 60 FPS on 1440p ultrawide. Consoles are based on 3 year old out of date tech now. Its no wonder they are struggling to keep up.
Tempting but PC performance is still a work in progress. Will wait longer for better product and pay less
As much as it's worth, I absolutely loved this game. Played on PS5 at release on quality mode. Never had any bugs and have got the platinum trophy (took me around 50 or so hours).
Never played fallen order so don't have much to compare to but would definitely recommend. Story and combat was good enough to keep me engaged most of the time and will go back to play the first one.
I absolutely loved this game, it's my game of the year so far and I don't think anything yet to release will beat it for me.
I'd compare it to God of War in space. The story, the combat, the exploration, the set pieces, all had me hooked. It's definitely not as polished, but still amazing.
