Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

    • Any idea if there’s a limit on that? Will I be able to cancel a month of games pass?

      • Seems like it's fine.

    • What exactly did you ask? My current sub expires in August

      • Just "can you cancel my game pass immediately". They'll ask why probably. You can be honest, or not. Up to you.

    • Good choice! Even if you lose some months, you’ll be saving heaps before the price hike

  • is it just me or is the wise part super annoying. $70 AUD minimum?

    • +1

No no!! Let me fix this up. $70 for 36 months (omg I feel so bad)

      • All good!!! Thanks so much for the effort put into this post.

  • +1

+1 on the detailed instructions yet again.

  • Uhhh help please.

Up to Part 4 -4 Purchase the 1 Month Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription, I do this, and go to management, but it wont let me click "Manage" on the PC Game pass, it comes up with

    "Sorry, something went wrong.
We’re not sure what happened, but refreshing the page may help, or trying again in a little while."

    What do :S

    • Same here :(

Edit — Microsoft forums indicate this problem has been reported by several users, see e.g. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/i-cannot-…

Hopefully restored soon. In the meantime we'll be stuck at this step.

      • After a bit of refreshing it eventually started working. I found once the emails came in I had more luck. No issues with the Console subscription, seemed to just be the PC Game pass that caused problems.

    • +1

The support rep I spoke to on the phone mentioned a lot of people tonight calling for help with connection issues specifically when trying to access that part of the website.
      Not sure whats going on.

    • Try and use Chrome. At least that's what worked for me, it was broken in firefox.

  • +1

@I Smell Pennies Have you happen to have a look into a how to save on playstation plus using international currencies or had no success so far?

    • Apps and Games via Turkey, or even PS Plus, it should work with this Turkey based Virtual Mastercard!

  • +1

    anyone else try with subscriptions?
i have office with my family.

  • I'm assuming you can't fund the oldubill card without wise or revolut?

I can't access either of these services and trying to refill with a Up mastercard gives a currency error.

    • same

    • Just noticed this part.

A: You can transfer with Wise, Revolut, or another bank. You must transfer Turkish Lira, not Australian Dollar.

Does 'another bank' mean another turkish bank account?

      • Not necessarily Turkish banks, but a bank capable of sending Turkish Lira. And make sure it has low fees. I suggest go with Revolut or Wise to be safe.

  • +1

    Thank you OP.

  • +1

    Obliged to upvote this 👍🏻

  • Just to confirm, can I use this method to buy games/dlc from Microsoft turkey store?

Will this work with Microsoft store Argentina?

  • Anyone know how long it should take for the funds to transfer from Revolut to Oldubil? Received the confirmation from Revolut but not showing in Oldubil yet

    • +2

OP said 2 hours. Wise said the same

      • Thanks, I must have missed that part

  • Whats the chances of getting canceled? I was thinking to go 14 months due to cancelation chance, but if you gotta deposit 70 with no direct way of getting it back I'll just roll the dice on 3 years

  • +1

    Great work OP

I already have GPU until Dec 2024. Would love to extend it on the cheap if anyone knows a method..

    • I'm similar. According to this:
      https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/live/gold/upgrade
1 month of gold converts to 20 days of ultimate.
Or 3 months to 50 days of ultimate.
Might still be worth it even with the lesser conversion.

Edit: nevermind. I just realised this is direct purchase to account, not cards/codes. I guess it won't work with existing subs at all. Oh well.

      • Can’t I just buy the additional XGPU to top up my current subs? I still have 14months left on my plan. Or the XGP has to be monthly subs?

  • Wonder if there's a way to get this working with PSN purchases.

  • Wow, I guess this method will work for Netflix and other subscriptions? Anything for PS+?

    • Should also work for PS+ if this is a legit Turkey card. Revolut/Wise etc have all been blocked by Playstation. Gone are the days of cheap PSN and games :(
Might give it a try later, if this works.

      • A quick google makes me think this won't work either :(

      • Revolut/Wise etc have all been blocked by Playstation.

Damn, I suspected this. I stacked 5 years but should've stacked more.

        • 5 years? I thought maximum could stack was 3 years

          • +1

@Bretttick: 3 years for Game Pass. Apparently, unlimited for PSN, was 15 years before.

      • Didn't work with my original Turkish acc, new turkish acc had no issues purchasing two games using oldubill card though

    • +1

Yes it should work on anything Turkey related!

  • anyone succefully got 3 years xgpu using this method just now?

    • +1

Yep I was successful using Wise. Only thing that went wrong is that I got charged a 65TL transfer fee (~$3.70) in the OlduBil app for some reason, so I didn't have enough for 36 months worth. I worked around it by buying less of the Console passes

  • +1

Money just landed in my Oldubil account from Wise. I think that was 10 minutes?

    • Great! Mine took 2 hours because I did it at 9am Turkey time so they were probs slow

Wow! Well done mate, we appreciate the work you put in for the ozturkiye community. Although I've switched from xbox to PS, thank you for such a detailed guide.

    • Thanks so much mate, really appreciated

Legend! Have you tried this with converting steam to Turkish store? I assume this should also work.

  • +1

Wow that’s shockingly good! I had no idea of this method for any subscription. Unfortunately I’m half way through my $150 three year deal so can’t make use of it. I hope there are still decent deals available in a year and a half!

  • Man it seems like the wrong night to do this - MS website is having issues.

Shouldn't the three month Xbox live gold convert to 50 days plus one month? As it says here https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/live/gold/upgrade in the 2nd last FAQ.

  • Wise said they need to verify my documents before they can pay out the TRY, and that it should be done before July 6th… :\

EDIT: Hit my account 5 minutes later!

  • Hmm I just paid for 12 months of Microsoft 365 for families.
I'm guessing this won't work for my account?
Don't want to make another account just for this 😕

  • Always happy with your guide. +1 then try myself.

Where’a the Udemy course that teaches you how to do this?

  • is there anyway to deposit less than $70? like $25? want it for buying cheaper games on the xbox store.

    • Yes of course, I made a mistake in saying $70 because that's how much you roughly need for the 36 month plan. By all means, top up how much you want up to $160 AUD :))

      @gusk12

        Cheers!

  • Insane value, but damn that's a lot of steps and headache to get perfect. Well done putting it all together

  • I guess the main issue with this method compared to the old code stack is that it will turn your account into a Turkey region account. Can op clarify this? Because having a Turkey account as my main will cause a lot issue in other services lol

    • I think it will, just like the youtube premium, I have to use another one for it, otherwise I have problem downloading Aussie apps.

      • I think for youtube it is okay because it really doesn't matter what region you are. But for Microsoft , too much service and product are bound to my main account…

        • youtube it is okay because it really doesn't matter what region you are.

The main problem is you couldn't download Aussie's apps with Turkey Google a/c.

          • @superforever: Ahh I see. I use ios mainly so really not a big deal for me..

So does this turn your microsoft account into a turkey account and is that a bad thing?

      • +1

I mean it depends on whether you use this account on a daily basis. If you only use it for gaming, then there is no bad effect. But if you are using it for both gaming and normal use (Microsoft 365, OneDrive, etc.), I believe having a Turkey account might have some potential risks of encountering issues with region locking or others.

        • Hmmm. So I probably shouldn't do this then. Shame, $23 a year is a lot cheaper than what i did over three years ago which was like $60 a year.

          • @AustriaBargain: I think it doesn't matter now. Someone below mention it does not effect Microsoft store so I guess XGP subscription is only impact Xbox.

            • @pq8382: Will my digital games i bought over the years still work? And if turkey doesn't have an Binge app, does that mean I can't use Binge app?

              • @AustriaBargain: @I Smell Pennies can you comment on this? I will do this today if there will be no impact to my main MS account

                • @CoenJC: @theguyrules Can you please comment on this? As I tested on a fresh account.

My assumption is nothing will be affected

                  • +1

@I Smell Pennies: I tested last night and nothing seemed to be affected. You can still buy games from xbox.com/en-au, use your Australian account balance, etc.
My MS account address is still defaulting to my Australian address. I can't see anything weird.
Will report back if I do.

Edit: tested on my Xbox and everything launches as expected.

Just tested to see if this Virtual Card would work on my Turkey Playstation account because my wise card stopped working and I was able to add the card and purchase a cheap game.

    • Yes it should work on anything Turkey related!

    • Does it work for a PS+ subscription?

      • Haven't tried but I think it would since it allowed me to make a purchase.

  • Mine keeps failing to cancel my subscription, just says "We can’t cancel your subscription"

  • +1

    It worked!
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/18691/104676/chrome_f6…
I ended up with ₺48,91 leftover on my card, time to test it on PSN.

    • I just did and was able to buy a cheap game on the store to test it

      • Yes it should work on anything Turkey related!

      • ooo on PlayStation? i was gonna buy ea play n Minecraft

No issues with me being converted to a Turkiye account or anything, I can still download and install games like normal. I just used the Game Pass app on PC to install a Game Pass game. no issues.

  • +1

Would this work for the ps plus turkiye!

I'm guessing since wise turkey card don't work we use this app that you're showing!
