I’ve been looking for an enamel coated dutch oven for some time and came across this offering which isn’t a bad price for something arguably better than Le Crueset.
Somehow Myer tries to sell these on sale for $440+ with an RRP of $880.

this is a more reasonable price.
Are they still there? Thought that was a clearance
It was a deal from costco just a few months back.
"something arguably better than Le Crueset"
how so?
it has dimples in the lid so that droplets fall evenly in the pot and keep food moist, also the the lid is healed so that you can put in some water so that steam inside condenses quicker , drops on food and keeps it moist …….
Yeah, like the other commenter states, the lid design is a better design and tighter fit to keep moisture in. Also, the handle is metal rather than plastic and it’s a thicker pot (whether good or bad).
The smaller sizes are a good deal too if you dont have a large family or dont want something so heavy. $200 for the 24cm is a bargain too
The aldi $20 one works fine, you can replace every two years and still ahead in ten year time.
Enamel or not these dutch ovens are pain in the ass when it comes to cleaning due to the inherent way of cooking things so the enamel one will eventually look crap overtime.
My staub is 5 years old and still looks the same as day one. I literally wipe it out with a sponge and soapy water after cooking. Its the easiest cookware I own to clean
Why create more waste throwing out aldi shit ones when you can buy once and have it last a lifetime.
staub is black inside so can’t see stains ….. creuset is white inside so stains do show up more over time …
You're kidding yourself and everyone to think it look brand new inside, or you haven't used it the way dutch oven should be used. Try do beef goulash in the oven with it and comes back with a photo.
I do casseroles i do beef cheek, i do chickens. I brown meat in it and do beef strogonoff. I use it the way its supposed to be used. Both on the stove and in the oven.
Ive had an aldi one and used it the same way and it went to shit in a year. The staub has had no such issues with anything sticking or burning to it because its a superior product.
Dont shit on something you havent experienced.
My Staub that I bought last year was probably the best purchase I made in years - it made me realise that proper quality cookware are so worth investing in
Highly recommended despite the price
What do you usually make with it ?
Buy first and go down the rabbit hole of what you can make with it. Anything slow cooked. Any roast or casserole style dish. Any sort of chicken and rice style dish. Use it on the stove for rissotto etc.
Even can make bread in it.
I mostly use mine for slow braises and soups. Have to agree with @Fergy1987, no harm in getting it first and then figure out how to use it later. Tbh, it's a bit of a motivation for me to cook new things
I have had cheap and expensive euro ovens. My big black Staub is the standout best.
Good price for a very high quality lifetime product.
Staub I have two of them looks good and cooks great. Easy when bringing food to pot luck, just bring the whole pot
We bought this exact item last year, it gets used multiple times a week and it still looks like new. Really does feel like it will last a lifetime. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Can I use it on an induction stove top?
Cast iron - yes
Bugger I think this is expired. Can’t get it
Darn - looks like they still have the 24cm in stock for $220 which is a bargain
RRP of $880? it better goes shopping for me and cooks itself!
