  • I loved this game when it first come out, wasn’t very good but still enjoyed it..

      This comment confused me

      • +9

        His Username checks out

      • Sorry should of said “wasn’t very good at it”

  • +4

Awake for 5 minutes, already spent $38, sorry wallet, it’s going to be a big day.

  • +2

I couldn't get into this. I don't think it's aged very well at all. I thought it was okay when it came out, but it always felt a bit clunky to me.

    • +1

I thought the work they did on this remaster with the modern control scheme made it way better. It was certainly a bit clunky with the original design, where turning the camera and movement was on the one joystick.

      • I know what you mean. I'm guiding my girlfriend through Banjo Kazooie on native (albeit HDMI modded) N64 hardware at the moment, and she's really badly struggling with the camera controls. I just sorta put up with it as a kid, but early 3D games' cameras were honestly pretty atrocious.

        • Some people can't adapt well to 3D, and some just can't use both hands independently well of each other with controllers either. For eg. Botw camera is easy for me but my bro just can't use it the same time moving in the game. It's a brain thing with coordination - practice probably helps too like all training etc

      • -1

Yeah, they did a good job with the remaster, but I guess it's more a reflection of the overall gameplay. There's something highly archaic about it, like it doesn't fluid. Especially the scanning etc. Especially the gun play, is very rudimentary.

It does some cool things, like the exploration. But I guess personally, I just didn't find it overly enjoyable.

  • +1

seems they price matched the Gamesmen

  • +3

This game is amazing. Definitely grab for the price

  • +1

    Great find! Thanks!

  • +3

If you haven't played this, definitely get it!!

  • +1

Personally didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Big fan of the side though.

  • +5

Omg stop posting deals like this. My wife is going to divorce me. Another switch game on the way that might not leave the wrapping! Thx op 🤪

    • There's a little box you can check which says "This item is a gift" and even include a message. Enjoy!

    • Tell me about it. My family is going to book me in for therapy soon without me knowing as they think I have an addiction that I have a game delivered to home/picking up a game every second day and they see my backlog is piling like a mountain.

  • +1

is this worth it this remastered version?

    • Yes. Cheaper than the original Gamecube version (and the hardware to go with it).

      • I wonder why gamecube game service is released yet on switch? like they have for every other console would have a nintendo remaded gamecube controller that is wireless.

  • +4

Bought on release. Literally started the game this week finally. They've done the game justice, it's beautiful.

    • Chozo ruins my fav

  • Bargain! Just bought it last week at Big W for $49 :(

It’s a very good game and graphics quite impressive

  • Do sealed copies exist?

    • +3

It's so bizarre and stupid all switch games don't come sealed. How can they prove it isn't preowned? My copy of Zelda looked like it came off a Video Ezy shelf it was handle/scratched so much.

      • Some games do come sealed but I can’t work it out eg. Mario, Zelda

        • I'm surprised retailers don't push back more. Creates a headache for them no doubt.

        • My release copy of ToTK from amazon wasn't sealed!

      • I remember back when I was a youngster I asked for a particular game on GameBoy Advance from a relative. But they somehow bought the wrong game. It was ofcourse unsealed by the shop's own hands. And when we went in to try and swap it, they fought us pretty hard that the game had been opened and used. So stupid.

        • My mum once returned a Game Boy game to Myer after I left it unopened for a few weeks. When the shop assistant went to open the game box up to check the condition, there was no game cartridge. I wasn‘t present but mum told me she was shocked and worried that the assistant might think she was trying to con them. After the assistant spoke to the manager, they checked their game drawer, muttered between themselves and finally approved the return.

The old Nintendo games weren‘t sealed if I remember correctly (at least not from Myer, ToysRus or Dick Smith), especially with shops that took out the cartridges to prevent theft.

    • I wish, last “brand new” switch game I received from Amazon was not sealed and the case had obvious scratches/scuff marks on front and back…

      • +1

It's so dumb. They don't even need to be wrapped in plastic - if they're pushing some "save the world" angle. A sealing sticker like xbox 360 games had (assume they still do?) Would suffice.

My first experience with this whole series was 'Dread' that I picked up from one of those $30 deals from Harvey Norman last year.
Ended up falling in love with it more than I thought I would. I didn't even know the series went first person but I guess I'll blind-buy this one and see if the same thing happens :P

  • Can someone help me explain the big deal about this game? About 2 hrs in, constantly getting lost and missing the point of it all.

    • +1

You need to use your brain and problem solve a bit.

It's not just run and gun alone this game. It also involves going back and forth to work out a path and hidden entrance at times.

Better yet you can use google search and Youtube for guides if you're stuck.
These two platforms have been around for over a decade in case you werent aware

      • +1

Just don't ask SpeedRunnerLink where the hidden entrances and paths are, speedrunners have a different concept of level pathing to the rest of us

    • +2

      Nostalgia and rose-tinted glasses

  • JB price matched this one for me.

  • +15

Everyone talking about the game, but no one has asked why OP couldn't sleep.. You good mate?

    • +2

I wish I could upvotw your comment more than once.
And yeah OP, all good brother?

    • +1

      bargains don't sleep.

OP, hope you're not getting RRP nightmares.

      • I never buy games at RRP except those limited edition ones. The stuff they include in those editions nowadays is getting to a stingy level so I‘m not sure if they’re worth buying anymore.

    • +2

Unfortunately it's a selfish world we live in. Good find OP

    • +1

I slept for a bit then got up to pee and was thinking about all these EOFY gaming deals and the upcoming Prime day. I also drank a cup of cold dark chocolate before bed. Not sure if the drink was also making me sleepless. Such a wuss.

      • +1

The excitement of missing a deal got ya, OzBargainism is in your blood

        • Does that mean I can keep my OzB badge for life? :D

      • Sugar+Caffeine(dark chocolate) before bed = restless sleep

        • I thought only coffee and tea had the same effect. That explains why I sometimes feel awake at night even after a long day.

Coffee doesn‘t keep me awake but instead makes me feel drowsy.

          • @FrugalNotStingy: You get fatigued after caffeine reaches peak absorption in the blood stream and you go below avg alertness.. It's the drop off the hill. You can also tax your adrenals too.

    • +1

I think OP could just smell a bargain and had to hunt it out

  • Looks like sold out and now only Used copy available at higher price of $40.84. Not even interested, just saw the rapid + + + +

    • Just admit to everyone that you‘re just jealous ;)

      • Hehe yes. I am now. Knew nothing about the game, thought it was 2d one. And now that it sold out like hotpockets, I now want it! Irony is, if it wasn't sold out I probably wouldn't wanted to buy it

        • Same as me. Sometimes I want a game just because they‘re in hot demand because it‘s on sale or got sold out!

  • Don't enter the Frigate without [better mobility].

    • Lol. suit upgrade

  • dammit missed out!

    • The Gamesmen also sell it on Amazon for $39.95 but with $6.99 shipping. It‘s still cheaper than the former sale price of $49. If you near The Gamesmen store you could pick up a copy. Can also try price match with JB.

I just finished this in the past three days.
It's definitely aged well not sure what some people are saying, the feeling of getting lost and exploring a foreign planet with is great.
It's suited for people who likes to scan and read every detail as that adds the gameplay and helps with immersion.

  • Missed out!!
