Woolworths emails you with "weekly boosters" like get 50 points for buying abc. Does that mean you can buy 10x of that item and get 10x 50 (500) points… or only 50 points?

Thanks. :-)
spend $2000 to get a $10 credit….what a
dealscam!!…its just a way to influence your buying patterns and collect your data.
just shop at aldi and locally…. its much cheaper, better quality and no points/loyalty/rewards bullshit to deal with…its just a way to influence your buying patterns and collect your data.
I just press all the boost buttons and then forget about them and do my normal shopping, focussing on the 1/2 price items.
Same. Then when I get $10 it is a nice bonus.
Is there another way?
I usually do that too but noticed today there's points on items in "personal offers" and they're nearly all things I buy all the time. May as well fill the freezer, get points, less shopping trips, etc.
Or spend $593 on groceries for the month I was already going to do and pocket 43,000 QFF points… You just aren’t doing it right.
no need for QFF here…. i just want cheap groceries without the bullshit
I s’pose if you have no plans to fly anywhere perhaps not suited for you, but those 43,000 FF points will get me a business class Sydney to Perth ticket with points to spare. Not bad considering the cost of that flight is usually $2000 or so.
@Pelicannn: i guess some of us just care about the climate & environment…
If you play the game correctly, you can earn enough points to pay for future groceries. Since the WuFlu, we have to be frugal when shopping and we still earn decent points. For the last 3 weeks we've boosted 50 points per can of Smitten and we feed 4 stray cats. Buying 12 cans at a time nets us 600 points and we were going to buy them anyway. The boosters are the key to scoring $$. There are also boosters that offer 4000 points for spending $100 in multiple shops over a week. I stock up on half price deals and only the items we know we prefer.
As of last Tuesday's shop, I've accumulated $150 worth of points that we use at Christmas and my husband has $100 accrued. We haven't spent money for Christmas food for well over 5 years thanks to the points.
You don't have to put in your correct details, either; nobody checks them and redemption doesn't rely on those details. Create a gmail account specifically for privacy and you're all set.
I not a person who impulse buys. I do buy in bulk when things are cheap or have points, and I noticed they're offering bonus points on several things I buy frequently.
Aldi don't have a lot of things (e.g. who doesn't sell frozen corn cobs!?) and they really annoy me when they change things. A product is selling great but they can't help themselves - they just to have change something about it. I'm buying less and less from them because of their foolish changes.
e.g. They've changed their cheapest toilet paper a few times. They stopped getting the 2 ply, and the 3 ply is lower quality now than their 2 ply used to be. But also, there used to be a flap about 5mm at the start of the rolls, then a line of glue. You could grab the 5mm flap and the glue let go nice and easy to start the roll. But they've moved the glue right to the edge now, and its strength has increased. So you have to tear through the roll after the glue to start it, losing a few to several squares every roll.
Similar thing with their tissues… When you get about 2/3 to 3/4 through any box of tissues they start to fall down inside the box. Aldi tissues have started doing that nearly from the start of the box. I have a box in the kitchen for one-handed use over two hands to tear off a piece of thick paper towel. But them always falling down inside the box is really annoying so I'm thinking about buying whatever the cheapest Coles/WW tissues are.
Aldi really are idiots for not having a website with contact details, product feedback, etc… I'm sure people must get fed up when their products change and stop buying them, but Aldi would have no idea why because they're too ignorant to listen to customers.
Those sort of offers are not worth the time to read.
Has Woolworths stopped doing the "spend $100 get 4000 points ($20)" type of offers on EDR?
I still get that sort of thing from Coles, but not Woolies.FYI, with Coles the new offers come out on Tuesday and Friday and overlap, so you can stack two at once for up to 40% of your spend back in points.
I got a spend $100 get 5400 points this week on EDR. I haven't had one previously for a while.
My husband has that exact offer ("spend $100 get 4000 points ($20)") in his booster list now.
You can buy as many as you want, there is no limit.
So, yeah, buying 10 at 50 points each will be 500 points - equivalent to $2.50 in credit (2000 points = $10).
To think of it another way, essentially points boosters are just weekly specials. If you're being offered 50 points per purchase then that's equivalent to a 25c off special. If you're really lucky, the points boosted item will also be on sale in which case… bonus!
In my experience points boosters never match the percentage off that you might otherwise get from a weekly special, but it's free money if it's something you had to buy anyway.
