1.5m HDMI Cable V1.4 Ethernet Full HD Gold Plated $1.95

930

Was browsing eBay for HDMI cables and came across this 1.5m HDMI v1.4 for $1.95 with free delivery. Seems that ApusExpress/Shopping Square has listed these before but I can't seem to see a limit this time.

I've also checked their website and funnily enough, it's listed at $4.95.

  • ~$10 on their site after you factor in shipping.

    • Shipping is free for standard post?

  • They've previously discounted the 1m HDMI cable for $1.95. Previous deal (now expired) below…

  • Bought, great price thanks. Just what I need since last time 1m was too short and 2m wasn't as good a deal. :p

Anyone know if they're shipped from Sydney or HK?

    • 1m came from Sydney.

  • i thought retailers were banned from writing V1.3 or V1.4 on their HDMI cables

    • Why is that?

      • its to do with marketing and how putting the new V1.4 label on a cable doesnt make it any better than previously made V1.3 HDMI cables unless otherwise stated retailers are prohibited to display the V1.4 in front of any HDMI cables being sold

the V1.4 is meant to attract buyers into "upgrading" their cables

        • But they are better aren't they? I thought 1.4 allowed "ethernet" over HDMI interface? or internet, you know what I mean. So what is the real difference between 1.4 and 1.3 and personally I don't care what version it is I just go by the awg rating. That's the only thing that's really going to effect the picture isn't it?

        • So what you are saying is the cables are the same since 1.0 however the interface and their technologies behind them change. Cheers, so the numbering would be a marketing scam.

      • The HDMI Licensing LLC group wants consumers to shop for features, not versions (features need to be supported by devices as well as cables). They have defined 5 cable types…

Hey if anyone knows someone who bought one those HDMI cables sold by Monster for over $100, can you send this link?

    • +5

Sorry if my comment offended anyone, if you go to the Monster website they rank their cables in speed order despite that the 'fastest' HDMI cable offers no increase in the visual output you will get over the cable on this deal.

It does make me want to laugh that people have bragged to me and still do about their 'superior' cable yet they gain nothing from paying 6-10 times what I have and those people here if they buy this.

      This is a great deal.

I don't know why anyone is negging you, Monster cables are a scam.

        6-10 times?

Try up to 50 times more!

What do you guys think about this cable. They claimed that it will produce vibrant colours and good audio with this cable.

      • this cable is more about getting the signal over distance… in this case its 20 metres. ie: specific purpose cable…

from the HDMI wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI
"cable of about 5 meters (16 ft) can be manufactured to Category 1 specifications easily and inexpensively…."

here's a 2m which is a little bit dearer. i bought it last week, got it in 2 days, and the build quality is pretty good (the wire's got a fabric sort of mesh outer layer). it's also sent from aus (and you supposedly get lifetime warranty) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170892989692?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

Thanks for that…Just bought one..Always good to hear from someone who has the item in their hot little hand :-) And I have bought from Shopping Square before, and it took over a month for an SD card to arrive :-0

      • Last time I got mine before 2 weeks. But have to say, mine looks a bit flimsy, although it works just fine. Order another 1 :(

      • just helping the ozbargain community :)

    • Thanks…. bought the 2M version outstanding price

    • The title has "Lifetime" warranty in it, but the auction has an icon with "12 month warranty". Then in the warranty and return section it has practically no information about warranty, just says "contact us if you need warranty claim". It has a link to see their "warranty policy for full details", and the information in the link has NO futher details!

The cable pictured in the auction doesn't have a mesh outer layer… I wonder what i will get if i order.

  • I moved all my gear into the on tv unit so I'd actually prefer some cables that are less than 1m

Beware it's total length (inc. connectors), so even 1m is short (I bought 1 to connect from the back of my TV to bluray just under the TV benchtop, and don't find it too long)

      • Yeah, when i got it i held it up and was like "this looks shorter than 1m" but measured it, and it was, but certinally not too long if your items are nearby.

        • Yep my devices are right under the tv and theres not board on the back of the cabinet so 1m cables would look too long.

  • It looks exactly the same as this one from Selby $5.95,so great price -

  • Hey thanks for the deal. I just bought 3. In regards to someone talking about monster cable, I used to work for harvey norman and got a couple of Monster cables and have bought a $5 one too and I cant tell the difference. I do have a blu ray player. so this is a very good deal for gold plated cables.

  • Got one thanks. My friend bought a LCD TV from HN for around $1000 early this year and paid $90 extra for the HDMI cable, so this is a good deal.

    • It's always disturbing to hear a story like this. Your friend is easily conned by the likes of Gerald Harvey and their high price HDMI cables which don't offer any enhanced performance. Thankfully, I think the vast majority of folks have wisened up to that "high price is better" bs.
