    Cheaper directly from MobileCiti

    • Are they the same model?

TCL Nxtwear Air $398 (code: FYGLASS)

Yep, also the same store if that matters.

      • looks like it.

  • Anyone know how these compare to the pricier nxtwear s? I couldn't see much difference specs-wise to justify the difference in price.

Seems like maybe the lack of speakers on this one?

It does come with speaker but apparently the S XR is suppose to be better speaker, although I don't think its that great. Better use a separate headphone.

Apprently that people have complained that 140" is too big and they can't see the corners. So S XR being the later model, came with only 130". But the major difference is that S XR comes with detachable magnetic cable. The said advantage is that if someone accidentally pulled on the wire, it won't yank the glasses off your face and break it. But in my experience, the detachable cable is quite annoying as it's so sensitive. Any slight movement can detach it and you lose the picture. It will take some time and juggling to get the picture back again. Its especially annoying if you plan to watch it while lying on bed. Because any slight tilt of your head towards right, you dislodge the connection.

Also I think with the S XR it comes with magnetic detachable corrective lense (whoch you need to go to an optometrist to have it made to your prescrption). So more useful if you wear glasses normally.

Personally, I think I should have saved the $200 and get the Air rather than S XR.

      • Cool thanks for the detailed comparison, but also sounds like I should check on the nreal/xreal airs as well!

Hm when is Nreal/Xreal coming to aus?

  • I'd spend 100-120 or so extra and get a pair of the Xreal Airs from Aliexpress.

You're getting a far superior product for the money.

    • I was considering the Rokid Max at a similar price but admittedly haven't looked much at the xreal air. On paper the Rokid Max sound great

    • I agree. I already bought them last week from a store in Canberra called the gadget collective: https://thegadgetcollective.com.au/products/nreal-air-ar-gla…

      Heaps better than the TCL

Another $100 and you can get a Quest 2, and have friends join you in that cinema.

    • +7

      Friends?

      • +1

If they have quest as well then watch movie together via big screen, host virtual parties and karaoke. It's fun. Although it's bulkier then the glasses in op. But quest is standalone and doesnt require phone etc.

  • Is it ideal for watching 3D movie (hdmi connect to blu-ray player) ?

What exactlty are we looking at here?

    • shrug….some new overpriced loser/loner wearable tech?

      • +1

Looks like sunnies that are actually a 3D TV.
Can see this being having some utility at work.

  • Anybody have feedback for getting these working with prescription glasses?
I believe you need to order them in, has anybody done that?

    • I saw some for sale on aliexpress (forgot how much think was around ~50usd), but i was looking more at the rokid max which has adjustable short sighted / myopia correction built in (0-6 I believe).

      • Interesting, thanks!
