bought at full price? Time to hand in your OZB badge?

    It effectively reduces eye fatigue

    This claim is puzzling

Just noting for anyone reading here
The v2 of this model can be controlled with Home Assistant. I’ve found it amazing to be able to use adaptive lighting to automatically change colour temperature throughout the day/night.

Not sure if there’s a deal on the v2 but thought it would be worth mentioning!

    • +1

Thank you for this, I was about to buy but looking more into it I prefer the V2 so I will wait for a deal on that one

    • I can't find any details on a V2, are you referring to the Yeelight model?

    • Is the v2 out? Can you please share the link? Can't find it. thanks

        Here’s the model number: MJGJD02YL

I’ve posted about it on this site before… easy to find on AliExpress!

Note this is the older model, look for the newer model ending in ….2YL for apparently better light output.

Wouldn't this one Baseus be better as the controls are incorporated into the light bar itself?
    Its cheaper too.

    • This one has wireless controller

      • like how far away do people actually sit from their monitors that they can't lean forward to turn the light bar on and off …. that's funny!

        • +2

Good point - I do not think people sit that far away. From reviews (and my own experience) doing this off the actual device prevents tipping the light over. While the unit is weighted and sits on the monitor nicely, it can still be prone to being knocked over. Wireless control over the light helps minimise that.

@nodiggity: With my desk setup, my light bars ( I have two) are out of reach. I’d have to get up to turn them on or off.

So the remote is actually really useful, and quite slick.

It’s the same discussion about why you’d use a remote control when you can get up and take two steps to press buttons on your tv.

EDIT: also good point about not knocking things over. My light bars are only perched on my monitors with a counterweight, so pressing buttons would definitely move them and/or make them uneven, requiring readjustment.

Also, I just remembered: I can use one remote to control both light bars! For on/off, brightness, colour temp, etc. it’s a great setup if you use multiple monitors.

  • I've got this and can confirm it has fallen off a few times. I'm glad it has the remote control dial to minimise knocking it off its rather precarious perch.

I also have my Logitech Brio on top of it, making it even more wobbly, so very grateful for the controller!

  • I have this one and a Kogan one (no remote).

To be honest, I prefer not having a remote….it just another thing to clutter my desk.

  • Do people get glare from the lightbar on the keyboard?
I have a blitz wolf one and the glare of bar on keyboard makes the keys invisible to the eyes…

  • Do these bars actually help? I hear from multiple people who have tried this in the past that it just makes them basically squint at their screen at worst and a very slight improvement in overall room lighting at best.

Just considering that the light is coming from in front, I can't see how it can improve eye fatigue..

    • I don't really see the point in this device. How does it help to have a light source on top of another light source?

Surely, one could just turn the brightness of their monitor up? A genuine question, I would like to be educated on this.
