When is cashback ineligible?

Important Notes

    I've made at least 5-6 purchases through top Cashback and not a single one has tracked. What are they like with dealing with claims? If they're actually going to honour my claim when this inevitably doesn't track, then I'll probably go ahead and order while this deal is on.

      Usually it's capped per account. SO if you can be arsed it would mean signing up to another TopCashback account (I suppose the $30 referral would also be an incentive for this)

    For those who purchased but didn't track, did your check your TopCashback account? I never received any email notifications from them (as you normallly do with CR and SB) but I am happy to report that my cashback showed up in my account when I logged on to check.

        Using iPhone. Have app installed. Clicked on BWS from Topcashback and Safari displayed in top left corner. I did my order 18 hours ago but not tracked. Was I using the app which denies cashback? Unless I delete the app it keeps going to app looking pages not BWS website.

      Not sure how easy it is to cancel at BWS. They mention a fee (lesser of what they decide is their cost or $20) if cancelling after its ready for pickup.

          Appears like an unsuccessful and very short lived trial of new entrant to the cashback market. Especially if reports of inability to query untracked transactions prove accurate.

The “short-lived trial” is a reflection of my unwillingness to invest further time in it given my 0 for 1 hit rate and the linked message, “We’re sorry, this retailer doesn’t allow us to make claims for missing cashback. However, feel free to get in touch here to see if there’s anything we can do for you."

              I’m too time poor and lazy to have the Will to argue over untracked transactions, esp when I know I clicked through cleanly.

                  @G-rig: Nah, not yet. I’ll give it another day and see if any of the other respondents with similar experiences below have any joy.

                  Generous sign up bonuses on offer with TC, but no value if they don’t track. I’ve got over $5,000 lifetime rebates via Cashrewards mainly (via PC and chrome) and the ShopBack app (for iPhone + safari) both of which are rock solid and virtually never fail to track and credit (except for Amazon when categories move to 0% rebate or some item hasn’t been removed from you basket or saved items for long enough before purchasing). Cheddar also had generous sign up offers to build a database, but has since folded. For my use case it feels like a false economy so I’ll probably stick with the tested players.

                  Fingers crossed for others whose transactions didn’t track that they eventually come through or get a result from lodging claims manually.

                @UncleRico: I've used iPhone (safari) as well as Windows 10 (Chrome). Both have tracked everytime! I don't even use incognito, nor do I open a new window. I just open a new TopCashback tab in the same window with 100 other tabs and it still tracks.

                Not sure what is going wrong with your transactions but if the non-tracking issue is repetitive, something on your end is preventing it being tracked.

                Hope you get it fixed and paid out :)

                  @I Smell Pennies: Not sure that zero success from my only attempted transaction qualifies as “repetitive”, unless you’re referring to the other posters below reporting the same non-tracking issue.

                  Either way, I won’t lose too much sleep, but won’t use TC again. Hopefully the tracking will resolve at some point within their nominated seven days, including for the sake of everyone else in the same boat - and the referrers who will also lose their $30 referral bonuses.

      It should. About half of my transactions are made on an iPhone. For this deal I used normal Chrome browser with like 80 random tabs opened. Still tracks fine as long as you don't click out to random sites
