  • That's a great deal on oled. Is the oled good as hyped? Anyone bought a similar model? Or seen in store?

  • Is Ryzen still miles ahead in terms of performance and efficiency?

    Good deal

$80 more than the JB Perks ZenBook deal for +14% single/+44% multi threaded performance

If 2.8K on a 14" screen is too small, get the FHD ASUS for just over $1K

    • JB one is gone. :(

Want the i5 version, but the 8GB soldered ram…

  • +1

Add $33 of stuff (e.g. MicroSD cards) and get this down to around $904.

    • How do you do that?

      • I assume it's something to do with with $917 version.

        • +2

I cbf being pedantic finding $33 of goods. I added 2 $26 256GB microsd cards from Bing Lee. Total was $919 after coupon. Though of it as getting 2 256GB cards for $2.

If you want to get to $1004, add a $7 64GB card, and $26 256GB microsd card. Total after coupon is $904 because of shipping of $4.

Or … search for something $33 with free shipping to get it all for $900 after coupon.

          *For the i5 version.

  • wait for the Harvey Norman EOFY deals. He's always looking out for us ozbargainers.

  • Just curious on OLED screens for laptops. How is burn in not an issue ?

    • +2

I was curious to this so went into JB to suss asus and lenovo oled models.

Opened a blank word doc and lenovo models were worse than i expected (hadnt seen oled burn in before, but the shop mode UI was visibly
burnt in, could even read some of the text) .

Surprisingly i didnt observe burn in on asus models (maybe they hadnt been on display as long?)

      Recommend sussing for yourself

  • Great deal, a friend just bought one over the weekend, Harvey Norman have the 16in versions in their line up 16in i5 is around $1,600, 16in/i7 is around $1,800. The 2880 x 1800 / 3200 x 2000 screens in the 14in/16in models are very nice and look heads and shoulders above anything else when you see them side by side in store.

Another underrated feature on these is their 1440p webcam with low-light assist and noise cancelling, again this stood out when compared side by side with other laptops

  • Nice bit of kit

  • So is this the normal price of non-gaming laptops now? A few months ago, this would have been the price of a very good gaming laptop.

    Still, very good specs.

    • I guess so, you are paying the same as the "gaming laptops" you say for the thin and light chassis, OLED screen, overall good specs and better battery life than a gaming laptop.

Just because a gaming laptop has a dedicated GPU and cost's x amount doesn't mean a laptop with no dedicated GPU can't cost the same because they all have their pros and cons.

  • Is Ram upgradable
