  • Thanks mate, grabbed one

    • MY friend has this but uses it with the air vent mount and its quite good.

    • +1

I have one, this one of the best car mount I have.

      • +10

All your Baseus are belong to us.

    • Been using one of these for years and it still works as good as the day I got it.

  • how this one is better than the other 15W ones available on ebay for $26-27?

    • +1

i have been using the same one from last couple of years. no compaints. Also suitable for plus size phones like Galaxy S21+ & s21 ultra and S22 ultra with casings.

    • +1

I just bought a cheap one off ebay, doesn't hold iphone 14 securely

      • +1

        Compatible Model
        For Galaxy S9, S10, Note10, For iPhone 11, 12 Pro

looks like you are out of luck here!!!

  • +1

Bought this last week and it can be a pain to use occasionally. Mainly because you can't mount your phone before you start the car or unmount it after you turn the car off. Apart from that it's good. Use it with an iPhone se and a pixel 7 Pro and can accommodate both sizes.

    • +2

It have small batteries inside that will open automatically once your car off. Yeah you cannot open it when you go in the car just turn on the car first… No big deal… Not to mention it's auto open when you turn on the car and auto close when you put you phone…

      • -1

Ooohhhh, turn ON the car first? I know how to operate it. Pointing out a couple of things that might annoy some people.

        • +3

Anubizz wasn't mocking you, they were just saying that it's a non-issue, in which I also agree with them based on my own usage. Your comment is half false anyway as you can unmount it after you turn the car off. It has a capacitor in it that powers the motor for one unlock, and it lasts at least a minute after the car is off. If yours doesn't do this, it is faulty.

          • @BradH13: He wasn't mocking agree, but I wasn't asking how to use it. It's a non issue to some, and annoying to others. it's annoying for me not being able to dock and undock whenever I like. You can't just open the door and put the phone in the dock while you're doing other stuff. If you miss the unlock or leave your phone in the car you need to turn the accessories on first.

It's completely fine 90% of the time, but it's annoying when you need to use it and can't. I see zero benefit over a manual mechanism. Would be better if the battery allowed 1 or 2 ad-hoc opens.

            • +2

@TheJoker: Yes, it'd be nice if I could open it any time I want when the car is off, but that'd require a battery backup and I have never come across any such device in this price range.

I see zero benefit over a manual mechanism.

I have owned many manual car holders and I find this auto mechanism more stable and easier to use. It also allows the phone to be horizontal, unlike the gravity car holders.

      • I have one of these (WXHW03). While mine auto closes when powered and the phone is placed, it doesn't auto open when the car is switched off - i have to press the button to open it. That's not necessarily a bad thing because some users may have their phone horizontally and the phone could fall if the holder auto opens.

I bought mine nearly a year ago and still going strong after daily use. It's the best car holder I've used.

with vw/skoda/audi the 12v socket is always on, so not an issue for owners of those brands (maybe it's generally a euro car thing not sure).

have had mine for a few years. once in a while it doesn't see the phone approaching and you have to try again…but there are identical physical buttons on both sides as backup open/close controls. love it

    • Don’t you just sit the phone in it when getting into the car and when it gets power it closes? I have a different brand Mi (but very similar design). Mine doesn’t have the capacitor to open though but phone pops out fine (arms are spring loaded). It does have a cooling fan which makes a difference

      • +1

It's default state is the closed position. Open would be much better, at least you could place/remove it with no power

  • These can be annoying and are prone to failure.
Use the halo lock from ESR if you can get a supported case

  • +1

wont charge iPhones at 15w FYI

  • +4

You don't want to be clamping into the hot airvent at this time of year. Phone already hot whilst charging

    • +2

This is so important for all air vent mounts in winter, not just wireless chargers, but wireless especially so. Plus, your car isn't designed to load bear from the vent anyway, and you're blocking an air vent for yourself.

I always dash mount. Never has made sense to me why people use vent mounts when you've got a dash or windscreen right in front of you.

      • Dash mounts are more easily to fall. I have the baseus just like this, not sure if it is the same model. The dash mount may fall after some days.

For some vehicles, the dash may be too far to reach.

        • +1

Pick the flattest part of the dash, clean it with isopropyl alcohol before you mount it and your chances of falling dramatically decrease.

      • One is to avoid direct sun light. During middays, charging for long hours under sun light is bad. Second is to keep the phone cool. Air vent can act as a cooling fan similar to Pixel Stand built-in fan.

Still, I don't reckon too much reliance on wireless charging in car for these:
        - less efficiency (petrol > electricity)
        - more heat (need fan on)
        - slower charging

Most of the time it could be faster to plug the cable than waiting for the sensor to trigger the clamp (from my previous experience with $18 Kogan auto clamp)

    baseus products are shocking.
Had so many problems with them, and when you try to go for warranty they want you to send like 10 different videos doing 10 different testing methods to be considered.

  • The instructions are cute.

Step 1. Put in the ball

    Lolol

  • +1

I had this, stopped working in less than a year… Claiming via ebay took a lot of back and forth, they wanted to give partial refund and I had to push many times to get a refund and this is even after showing a video.

  • +1

Maybe im a wild driver but i find the air vent holders fall off after a while and then dont grip enough.

    • This hooks around a vent slat and tightens so very unlikely to displace

      • also this airvent version has two feet that extend down, for physical support against the area under the vents. good design.

  • Can anyone one recommend a MagSafe one?

  • Thanks. Going to see how this goes with the carlinkit 👍

  • I used a different one in the past to charge iphone overnight and woke up with the iphone completely turned off.

    Happened to anyone else?

    • I cannot imagining someone keep their car on and charging their phone overnight.

      • I meant a standard home version wireless charger

  • Is there tablet clamp recommended? AFAIK provisional license can't use phone for navigation

    • +1

Maybe safer to use a dedicated navigation. No distractions from notifications.

      • Thanks just noticed there are this kind of products

        • +1

oof that makes me feel old.

  • Will it hold a S23 Ultra with case?

    • I have the s22 Ultra. Holds it fine and theres still room on the sides. The bottom is adjustable height for smaller phones too.

  • Thank you! Ordered one.

  • Thanks OP, took a punt for the missus

  • Ive had mine for a couple years. Suctions to the top of the dashboard no issues as it has the sticky pad on the suction. Every now and then it stops then starts charging repeatedly. Only started happening recently.
    Well worth the money.

    • Does the sticky pad mean you can't move it once it's been stuck?

      • You can move it. Its like a gel pad stuck to the suction cup. Just lift the leaver and peel it off. If it gets dirty, just wash it with soap and water and it becomes sticky like new.

  • +1

It is out of stock. Search found this. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313034445853
It asks to choose phone model, but cannot find my model.
    Also the seller is baseus_officialstore_au
    OP's item's seller is baseus_online_store

There are so many different items on ebay. A bit confused.

  • Sending mine back…to big and bulky to fit into landcruiser, fouls on wiper stalk on one side and indicator on the other side using vent mount. Have dash mat so not mounting on top of dash. Apart from mounting on windscreen and blocking view and being illegal I have nowhere to mount so big and heavy.

    • Installed mine yesterday, and found the same with the vent mount. Couldn't fit either side without impacting on wiper/indicator stalks. Installed on dash instead, although was not my preference.

      • Because I live in QLD need dash board protection…moulded carpet, so cant dash mount. I am sorry to see I am not the only one who has mounting issue. Also looked like it actually glues to dash as well as suction…not sure I like that in case it marks dash if removed. Misses has X-Trail so I will see if it fits in hers…but sadly would only get used on the rare occasion I was driving. Cheers.

    • how do you do the return, what do you put as the reason?

      • +1

I have ebay plus not sure procedure without. However go to recent purchases, open Baseus holder, scroll down click on 'more actions' and then click return item and follow instructions. My reason was that item did not fit…then had to write a blurb why it did not fit…as it hit indicator/wiper stalk, to big and bulky and otherwise nowhere to mount on dash. Immediately they give you a return item Aust post lable which you can print out.

  • Anyone have any issues with the IR sensor. Mine doesn't close when I put my phone over it but if i put my finger completely over the sensor it will close.

  • If anyone still following post…I initiated return item with ebay…easy…sent me return connote. Baseus did not want item back, offered 15% refund and I keep item. I rejected offer and countered with 50% as I said unit won't fit either of my cars. They countered with 25%. I rejected and said 50% or item will be posted same afternoon. They really didn't want it back and agreed to 50% refund and I keep item. Not sure if I had a win or they did as I will throw it in the useless crap cupboard.
