Have been looking at upgrading my older series Apple watch through the Optus deal and saw this GPS only model deal come up today.
Seems to be the cheapest for a little while for the Series 8.
Note, this doesn't have cellular, it only connects through your iphone.

Ah nuts, I grabbed the 41mm cellular for $579 a few days ago from JB 😑

    • The 41 cellular isn't on sale though? This is GPS.

Sorry I meant 41mm GPS. Although I bought silver after price matching David Jones.

Midnight is the only colour on sale. If you really want to save $32, you could return it if it hasn't been opened and buy Midnight at this price but is it really worth it? There will always be a cheaper price.

should always price match with officeworks 1st. as they reduce match by another 5%. got my starlight 41mm yesterday matching with david jones and paid 550.05. but this here is the better deal if ok with midnight

      • Would have, but I had a bunch of JB gift cards I wanted to use anyway

      • 100% this. Always use OW first as a benchmark, failing that, move on to another retailer.

  • o this is just the wifi only version.

Unless you pay extra and are already with a big provider the esim is kinda useless in Australia.

      • How so? Truphone offers a $11/mo plan for unlimited calls and data just for Apple Watch. No need to be with the big 3…

        • +2

Isn't the benefit of using Optus/Telstra/Vodafone that the eSIM is a duplicate of the one in your phone, ie. same phone number. Meaning you can go out with just you watch and people can still contact you on your normal number. I assume with the Truphone plan it will mean having multiple phone numbers.

            @tomsco: burner watch

            criminals be fancy these days

            • @andresampras: It doesn’t snap in half as nicely as the flip phones in Breaking Bad.

          • @tomsco: If you’ve always got your watch with you I guess you could forward calls to it on the different number.

      • Not to mention the added battery drain.

      • lol esims are like in nearlly ever iphone there days haven't been a regular sim in years. They are very much used in Australia

    • It has WiFi?

      • yeah apple watches can connect to wifi

    • I have had the Esim series 6 with a $10 plan through Optus for over two yearsd and not once have I left the house with my watch but not my phone so for me the esim is worthless.

Which store is AMAZON price matching?

  • +4

Officeworks has it at the same price but also in 4 different colours:

    • would officework price match amazon?

      • It's already "matched" (same price)

      • OW Price BEAT, not match.

        • +1

Yes so can't beat if it's the same price already :-)

  • any point upgrading from the Apple Watch SE Gen1 (2020)?

    • I am updating so I can give my series 6 to my Mum and she can have her heartrate monitored.

Waiting for the JbHiFi clearance prices…..

  • Are the wrist band interchangeable?

    • Yep

    • I have a Stainless wrist band that came from my original Series 1 watch.
Still fits on all subsequent models and looks great (Weirdly people comment on the band design).
I also keep a bunch of $10 leather cheapo bands of different colours and styles in my drawer that I use when I want to match to my clothes or shoes and they mostly last well.

      • Could you pls provide some links pls ?
(My wrist size is way too small to fit the apple straps so need some options)

    • Naaaahh, Ford model T was the real deal. Let’s downvote all posts based on that.
