Edit 26/6: Down to $270.71 from $281.97

And here I am sweating because I've only got 5tb left out of 20tb.
491gb free of 9tb and one of my drives is failing… I need a good deal yesterday
500gb free out of 20tb here…its getting dicey for sure! a good deal on some 16tb drives and I will bite so fast :)
@smurfstah: wow! you guys have a large Blueray collection that you have backed up in a hdd
Alas, me it's literally just photos and vids of the family + day-to-day data
so 3tb free out of 8tb
once i'm down to 1tb free i'll upgrade - probably a year or two
@smurfstah: You need to get rid of some of your old linux iso collections.. ;)
@ggbhai: had to delete a few tb of BBC content to free up space, since i realised i was never going to watch it again and my wife isnt into that anymore
british television sucks now
The new low standard is like $16/tb after that cracker of a deal the other month. So you would be doomed to post anything but from now on 😂
I'm personally ruined forever after that deal, won't look at $24/tb deals the same again.
But this is OzBargain, not OzCheapestICanFindNow.
You must be new. Those weekly supermarket specials…
This mean not be the cheapest
Ignore the others. That Amazon grey stock deal wasn't completely fulfilled, a lot of drives were faulty and an honoured price error. It's hard to beat that.
This meets the requirement for OzBargain.
Hard drives from Amazon US have never failed me.
A shitload of people in the deal did. More than usual.
Ordered 1x from amazon (this deal). 4x from computer alliance. Amazon one DOA.
amazon was selling grey stock? you mean US inventory? or like Hong kong refurbs?
US inventory.
thats not so bad since we knew it was from US
but that failure rate is bad lol
that being said, technically buyers locked in that cheap price and could send back the faulty drives for repalcements right
so not the worst outcome
I don't purchase HDD's often, what's the "US Inventory" issue?
@SecretCompartment: There's no issue. It just ships from the US instead of AU.
Are these good for desktop use?
Definitely but slower than SSD.
they are good enough general, but they are loud.
Price bumped to $307.62 now
Back in stock, down to $270 now.
An extra 7% off if buying 2 or more is applied at checkout.. which brings it down to around $252 a drive.
Ordered one at $270. Hopefully it survives the trip over.
Received a few days ago. Seems good. No issues.

Stupid question, but is buying a HDD from Amazon OK? As in, they don't go cheap on the shipping/packing materials do they?
Yeah i saw this a few days ago .. and thought … i dont want to post and get blasted for posting a deal at $23.5/tb
but agree is the cheapest right now.
I still have 3tb free in my nas. I'm good for a few years.
