i need to upgrade to 32gb ram too. is this worth it or should i wait for the 4090 hp laptop to get in stock?

    • +1

Dude… for this price, I would get this. I don't know how it's so close to $2k for this spec. EOFY I guess, but still. Seems pretty damn good for the price, and for what it is. It could be annoying to upgrade to 32GB though, fair point. But if you got a sweet deal on a 2x16GB kit, maybe (if it has two user-upgradeable slots, I haven't checked), that could work. Compared to this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/781530 I'd take this Pro w/4070 over the Slim 5 Laptop w/4060 in a heartbeat.

        brought it with upgraded ram.

  • +1

Yeah, I was tempted to upgrade to 32gig ram for $190

but… my friend said he'd do it for me and I can survive a year on 16gig

    • +2

nuh best get the ram now. it counts to the 15% discount cashback

  • How loud would this be running games? Whenever I have looked at gaming laptops in the past it's been like jets taking off.

    • This will sound like jets taking off when playing games.

  • Ye, I think it can get loud depending on the game and settings but I don't need to run it max settings

This guy's review sold me essentially

For the specs and considering the current prices, this is an insane deal.
    Thanks OP.

What a deal… 11 hours to decide to get or not. Can't think of a reason not to get RTX4070 but the 32GB ram. Do you really need it?

any deals for 1tb ssd or 2tb ssd?

    • You can pay $500 extra for a 1tb ssd

      • +1

thats not a deal thats a rip off lol

        • Yep, that's why I just went with the 4070

      • Is the PCIe user accessible to upgrade the ram yourself?

        • +1

          yes

  • +2

Thanks OP! Bit the bullet and bought one for my "study"! Upgraded Ram to 32 GB as well

Decided to go this bad boy too. Upgraded to 32GB ram and the 4070. Will be claiming through slalry sacrifce with work so will save another 30% or so and wont pay GST.

    • Hmm didn't know you can do that. Do you just talk to payroll or the salary packaging team at your work place to do this?

      • Pretty much. My work advertises it to their employees (engineering firm)

  • With cashrewards this seems like a very good deal.

  • mine says Est. Ship Date: 21/06/2023

  • I bought the 4060 variant. However I received an email about 12 hours after my purchase asking them to send screenshots of the transaction from my card. Did this happen to anyone else? I tried purchasing through PayPal in multiple attempts but it failed so I just ended up using my google pay.

    • PayPal worked for me. I have not been emailed for any screenshots. You could use their website's chat feature to message for someone to call you about it.

Is it recommend over the i7 variant??

    • Up to you, $523 for 1TB SSD and i9 wasn't worth it for me but if you're going 1TB drive then yes

  • +2

Shopback has 13% cashback active now

  • Seems to be $2176 now?

    • That's with the RTX 4060, I opted to upgrade

      • Ahhhh whoops

  • Cashback is back with cashrewards.

  • just got my laptop but the mouse touchpad does not work, the touch for left and right click is only at bottom and one spot. is this normal? this is useless if it is its hard to use and barely works…

    • Seems okay for me but just getting past installs

  • Why would they sell a pro gaming laptop with 1/2 tb ssd?

  • Hi does no one else have these issues?

I uploaded the videos please turn sound up for one to hear whine fan sound . The touchpad barely works for left and right click

    https://file.io/cgzT1tQyI2my
