CT Shirts vs Hawes & Curtis

Hi guys, how do CT shirts compare to Hawes & Curtis?

I do find the armhole on the CT shirts to to be quite large, and the material quite thin.

Keen to hear experiences.

Thanks!

i like H&C more. material and design wise. i have one i like so much but they dont make that style anymore…
white and green large check style

oh wow.. that was pre-covid i bought many of work shirts .. now.. wfh i need more pijamas and blankets :D

  • Hawes & Curtis significantly better quality for sure. Been wearing them for years.

They have gotten a lot more expensive though and their recent Curtis (casual) range designs are… questionable.

  • I think Hawes & Curtis is better quality.

I will have to check my collection of Hawes & Curtis, CT and TML.

    • My bad, just checked the closet.

Out of the above three, the H&C is by far the worst quality.

CT for me. Sample size about 5 each of H&C and CT, and 20-30 TML.

      • worst quality in what way? just the quality of fabric, or more cut/shape/sizing?

        • Quality of fabric.

Also the points of the collars always wore quickly. This has never happened with other brands.

  • Is there any decent deals on H&C? I am keen to try them but whenever I have looked the prices are quite high and shipping even more so.

  • I got two secondhand shirts from the UK. 1 was a Gieves & Hawkes and the other was a Turnbull & Asser. Apparently they were bespoke and cost over £200 each. All i know is, they were the best, most comfortable shirts i have ever owned. Like chalk and cheese compared to anything else i have ever worn.

Paid $70 delivered and i flogged them for 5 years.

  • I have tried them both, and found CT shirts better.
It was a while ago but my H&C shirts were very difficult to iron and the collar tips and edges wore out within a year. (Going back 10yrs ago so likely fabric has improved since then)

But never had issues with CT.
