Just bought it for missus last week for 699… heck.
Did you buy it directly from Dyson? If so, worth giving them a call to try and negotiate a refund on the difference consider the timing.
Just noticed, I got the complete LONG edition instead. Not sure what's the difference there.

@binczo: Just got off the chat with Dyson rep, Dyson website only sells the newest model. So the price difference is for long vs regular
@hongco1990: The long is so much better if you have chest length hair (I have both and will sell the shorter barrel one). It's absolutely worth the price difference.
FYI, you can buy the long barrels but they are $100 individual so to buy both the 30mm and 40mm barrels, it would be $200.
Waiting for EOFY sale, maybe they'll mark down further on the complete LONG version.
