Belong, Boost, Woolworths Mobile Network Difference

Belong, Boost and woolworths (along with many others) uses the Telstra mobile network but I heard it uses MVNO so the coverage is not quite the same as signing up directly with Telstra.

How much difference is the coverage and are there any other limitations?

Boost is the only MVNO that has 100% of the Telstra network. The others have the wholesale network, which is fine until you head outside of the main cities. My family have Aldi (wholesale) and I have Boost, I get good signal in places where they struggle.

Boost and Telstra have exactly the same coverage. The others much less, especially outside of metro areas. Compare the coverage maps. Just Google it.

i went from telstra to woolies, no difference except im saving $40 a month :)

  • I get very poor reception on Woolies, example.
    Might try Boost.

  • I'm on boost, the other half on woolies mobile. YMMW - coverage almost similar but Boost had better data reception on recent trip out of city.
woolies is 4g, boost 5g. woolies data bank and transfers. boost has some included scope of international calls. woolies 10% discount shopping each month. woolies has esim.

  • Thanks for this. I thought MVNO's had QOS limits not actual coverage limits. Guess it actually is QOS but the QOS is ZERO :-)

  • I’m getting no reception in residential areas where optus had reception hahah. I haven’t noticed an improvement since changing over from optus .. just worse

    I’m confused!
